UIL to discuss removing Charter schools from traditional classification system
rupert3 and one other reacted to AggiesAreWe for a topic
UIL to hear proposal that could remove charter schools from traditional classification system. A separate DEC meeting will be held soon to rule on alleged recruiting violations by charter school Oak Cliff Faith Family and its coaches. This should have never happened. Be curious to see if anything comes of this.2 points -

Vidor (12) @ Bridge City (42) Q4 - Game Thread/Post Updates Here

Regardless of the offense, kids need a reason or purpose to play football. Normally, for most kids, football is something they genuinely enjoy playing, because most players wonāt be suiting up on Saturdays. At the end of the day, the most successful teams have kids and coaches that genuinely love the game and get joy and fulfillment playing it. Vidorās two current biggest issues are the lack of appeal to play the game and a lack of community support. The offense has been the same for years, and Mathews did a great job of getting the kids and community behind his teams year in and year out. Vidorās whole identity was being a team you hated to play because you knew you were in for a long physical night. That made the game fun for the kids who played, and they took a lot of pride in it. Currently, I would argue that the toxic attitude of the community towards the offense and Dubois in general is the biggest thorn in the teamās side. The need for instant gratification from fans is what is fueling it all. When the players go home or out in the community and hear: how bad the offense is, how bad the defense is, or how bad the coaching is, the players will begin to lose pride in the program, and the game is no longer fun. This leads to discipline issues and players quitting. Vidor has lost their identity and Dubois and the offensive scheme isnāt the culprit. The Vidor community needs to leave their objections of who they hired at the door and let the man work if they wanna be successful in the future.1 point -

[Hidden Content] Relevant example from yesterday. Short version - Bills get ball back with 30 seconds left in the game. Throw three deep incompletions. Leave Texans enough time to run a play and kick the game-winning field goal. (Incompletions give the other team clock time. Calling high-variable pass plays is bad clock management).1 point

I will take the Cats, 28-7. Defense has been really stingy and the offense gets better weekly, as you would hope and expect with a new coach, new offense, and young QB. All of the above appear to be getting not only better, but more confident each week. On a related note, over/under on the amount of times the opponent is called "Coldsprings" in F.L. McClain Stadium on Friday night?1 point -

Me too. I think his Big Red Machine could have beat Mantle/Maris Yankees. They had like 4-5 players batting .300. I used to could have named them. Johnny Benchā¦..the best catcher ever. Pete Rose never bet for or against his team. I can understand why it might be a rule not to bet baseball when you are a coach, but to ban that man from the HOF is a tragedy.1 point
