After HJ only lost to BC by 2, they might be a lot more competitive than I gave them credit for. they're 3-3 and 1-2 in district. If Lumberton and Vidor keep playing like they have there's no reason that the Hawks can't beat either of these teams.3 points -
US governors ranked on fiscal policy — here are five best
5GallonBucket and one other reacted to LumRaiderFan for a topic
[Hidden Content] Shocker...the top 5 are all Republicans. But not wanting to leave democrats out...from the article: Cato's report highlighted which governors have the worst tax-and-spend records, too. Democratic vice presidential nominee and Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz came in dead last with a score of 19, earning an "F" grade along with five of his fellow Democrats.2 points -
Elon Musk Was Able To Do Something NASA Was Never Able To Do!!

From the clip: "SpaceX's space launches are generally less expensive than NASA's, and SpaceX has been more efficient than NASA in other ways as well: SpaceX's Falcon 9 rocket launches have been advertised at around $62 million per launch, while larger rockets like the Falcon Heavy can cost upwards of $90 million per launch. On the higher end, NASA's Space Launch System (SLS) is estimated to cost over $2 billion per launch." Let's also understand: Elon did this while running multiple billion dollar companies. While being the father of 12 kids. While campaigning for a Presidential candidate. Major respect to him and his team! @thetragichippy2 points -

BH should win, but rankings don’t take into account injuries. PAM is not that good of a team which GB exposed 2 weeks ago and a beat up BH team confirmed last week. BU put 400 + yards on the best defense as far as points allowed in GB. Not to mention BU held GB to 28 even after turning the ball over from what I understand 3 times deep in their territory! Like you said though BH should take the next 2-3 , but that’s why we play the game.oh and we prefer to be called Baytowns Daddy😎2 points -

I can’t believe that we’re talking about this BH/BU game like there’s really a chance BH could lose it. BH is ranked #179 right now and BU is #369. Their game last week against PAM was much more evenly matched and it was a close one as you’d expect although they sure screwed up at the end letting the clock run out without kicking a field goal to tie. By the numbers, New Baytown should win this handily, lose badly to Ball, beat Weak Brook, end regular season at 6-4 and 4th place and a game or two in playoffs before getting knocked out. If New Baytown loses to either BU or WB, Coach Abseck’s got some explaining to do…2 points -

Of course you didn’t have neighbors who moved from Baytown to Plantation. You think there’s anyone from Old Baytown that could afford a house in Plantation? It’s not that MB/BH taxes are low themselves though they are lower than Baytown, it’s that MB/BH/Cove/Old River/Beach City/etc is all in Chambers County and the County taxes are cheaper PLUS the MB taxes are cheaper. In Baytown you’re paying higher than average City taxes AND GCCISD taxes AND Harris County taxes which are all sky high. BHISD taxes ARE on the way up, though they’ve got a ways to go before they’re as onerous as they are in Baytown. Lawyers arguing for years on BHISD’s behalf all the way to the State Supreme Court over a kids haircut don’t work for free, you know? That’s got to be paid for. Luckily for BH, there’s a certain portion of the population that agrees with the policy AND has the money to buy into a master planned community built around the School District willing to spend taxpayer dollars fighting for it. A “Rich Man’s Vidor”, if you will.1 point -

So this is the first game we have not used alternating QB's. This is apparently due to an injury which is really sad and you never want to see a kid get hurt. Continuity was there tonight, the passing game looked much better. If I am being honest, I think the biggest thing was the QB knew if he did make a mistake he was going to right back out there to make up for it and I wonder what the effect of always wondering if you're going to be taken out at any time in the game was doing to that young sophomore who played a heck of a game Prior to this game those "new QB for 2 plays" were completely disjointing the offense even when the plays were successful. Also we've started to do this overload to one side toss zone play that has killed everyone in district so far that we did not run prior to districts end, who knows maybe if we put our kids in space earlier in the season we might have an extra win or maybe even two this season.1 point

My point about the turf in Woodville is that it does not have the black rubber pellets as a filler. That turf actually has wood chips/sawdust as it's filler. They actually have to water their turf so that it doesn't dry out and become a dust bowl. First time I stepped foot on that field a few years ago, I was like "what is this stuff?" One of their coaches told me it was wood chips and they actually had to water it regularly. The wood chip filler helps keep the field cooler than the rubber pellets.1 point -

La Porte played with those teams for many years, and was a perennial PO team as the smallest school by far. It can be done. Just takes the mindset and physicality. (And a good staff. Not that BH staff isn’t good now. I’m like many of the BH faithful though. BH doesn’t exude toughness right now.)1 point

I like the 5-1 start and they have improved a lot from the past 3 plus years, but I have to agree that they have played a weak schedule Dayton, Lumberton, Splendora, and West Fork a very weak this year. Silsbee scores 37 on them and is having a down year and will probably come in 4th in district. WOS has improved this season, but not appear to be anything to write home about Coach Rich and staff have done a good job and he was not responsible for the weak non-district schedule They simply do not have the talent to beat these last 4 teams although I would love for them to make the playoffs I would have more confidence in them if they had a good passing game and if the kicking game was better and they had a much stronger secondary, although I am hoping for the best1 point

23-26 classes had major defections and some of those kids will play D-1, thus weaken the program. The freshman team is undefeated and the QB and his friends said they were going to rebuild WB. The QB was recruited by over 12 schools from houston thru east texas but stayed with his class. He also went spoke to the 8th graders at his feeder school and got them to come to WB. I think PAM wins the game b/c the WB isn't quite ready yet to compete with them. 4th 0r 5th is where WB will end up, IMO1 point -

This year went badly off track for BH on the opening drive of the 1st game. RB1 gone for the season, then later in that same game WR1 went down. (HATERS REJOICE!!!). Then it got worse from there. More injuries on offense, all the skill guys. Took all the speed off the field. So what can BH do at this point? BH can go out with whoever is left standing and play as hard as they can for the remainder of the season. That might get them 4th place. It is insane how injury prone BH has been the past two years. Lost most of our defense last year, and now our offense this year. I am the eternal optimist though. Maybe next year we have minimal injuries, and we do have a favorable schedule set up. Thats next year though. BH needs to dig in, man up and play as hard as they can with what they got as long as they can. If the team does that, thats all anyone can ask.1 point -
Crosby (34) @ Kingwood Park (14) - FINAL
MrFleet23 reacted to Cougar14.2 for a topic
It looks like that because we played better overall. He’s been moving some players around the last couple of weeks and actually trying to get some of his athletes the ball which is a lot more “offensive coordinating” than he’s been doing during his time in Crosby. We’ll take the progress where we can get it though. We’re 3-0 in district play because we have better football players than three teams we’ve played. Again, you take the progress from the beginning of the year where we were losing to a team like Dayton who has half the talent we do. The issue is being consistently blown out by teams with equal or slightly better talent. Crosby is benefitting record-wise from a weak district but it’s helping us learn to win again. Thursday was the most swagger I’ve seen a Crosby team play with since Willis has been our coach. Wins are wins but if you’re objectively looking at what Crosby is considering progress after a year and a half under Willis it’s a game where we play two good quarters and then get shut out until late in the fourth quarter against a team with not near the personnel of La Porte or Angleton. Crosby could be a lot better than we are but I will admit this is the best we’ve looked under Willis. I guess it’s just going to take the kids overplaying his system and play-calling to achieve the results the last two coaches did?1 point -

Correction. Cannot bash You can talk about them, even in a negative way. You seem smart enough to figure it out. But then again......1 point -
This could be a trap game for BH. Coming off of a debacle of a loss at PAM could open the door for United. Hopefully BH gives a heavy dose of the ground and pound offense and the defense play’s assignment bend, but don’t break defense and not allow the speed on the outside to hurt them.1 point
