The whole Nederland student section was on the field with 1 second left. Refs said screw it. I don’t blame PNG for not shaking hands in that chaos. Ayden Sunday left the celebration and went to shake all the PNG kids hands. The kid is a leader and a great example to all the young kids watching

Why would you wonder that? Coach Barrow has a son on the coaching staff and his brother, so yeah, I’m sure he watched it and I’m sure he is glad Nederland won. Anyone who knows Coach Barrow knows that he loves those kids and wants it for them as much as anyone. Coach Rich is doing an amazing job and I hope it continues for a long time, but to act like Coach Barrow would put his own pride before the success of the players is just flat out wrong.

Two SETX rivalry games tonight. One arguably the biggest rivalry in the state. One game thread is replete with whining from both sides about officiating (and who benefitted more from bad calls). The other about which team made more plays, and the fans of the team who came up short giving kudos to the team who got the W. It’s almost like one game involved two teams who “have been there before.” No doubt great rivalries are fueled by two schools whose teams consistently leave it all on the field. But honestly it’s the fans who are the constant, year after year. And IMO, with all due respect to Permian- Lee (which is probably the second best I’ve personally witnessed), NO ONE does it better than you mid county folk. Congrats to the Bulldogs - great win in a game that seems to spit out classic after classic.

For those that don’t think coaches make a difference! Well there you go. It got PNG over the hill and now Nederland is on its way. They won’t go to state but it’s a matter of time. Congratulations dogs! Keep fighting and stay hungry.

Great game! Ned brought it all night long. Scott Rich was an amazing hire and he has brought the school spirit back to Nederland. You love to see it. Great job, Dogs. Dogs looked way more focused and much faster than the Indians tonight. Good luck the rest of the way to both teams.

Refer to DCTF 2022... picked to play for state that season. But it's not about winning it all. Let's not forget about the 2021 all district Sophomores that couldn't get a scholarship in 2024. Those kids suffered as a result of the experiment. And that still hurts my feelwings

Yeah your view was certainly obstructed. I guess it was the refs fault bc qb was harassed all night and I believe had more incomplete passes than completions too. BCs lack of solid challenges all year showed tonight. You should happy they make the playoffs even in our puppy district. Because in your own this isn't even a conversation. I'll give you the punt touched TD back. (Day 1 of peewee says stay away from ball inside the 10 anyway) but your giving us the #6 td back on the missed hold... that was right in front of me........ game is still 14-11 lcm. I'll look at the stats Monday but if lcm had more completed passes than pass first bc did (which i think may have happened). You're not going to win. Both teams played with class and seen a few lcm kids consoling an upset #9 after last play.

Just got home from watching this game. Yeah they screwed the play up, but boy BC got a lot of calls their way and when the going got tough, LCM got tougher. BC struggling to beat HJ and Livingston last 2 weeks was an indicator that this team was running out of steam. Regardless, neither LCM or BC will beat Huffman.

I retired from coaching 7 years ago and went to this game just to watch a game that would be part of deciding the district champ. The SETX chapter officiating has gone from bad to worse. I’m not talking about holds, holding is kind of like strikes in baseball. Tonight I saw multiple missed calls that went against both teams that put players in danger. Face mask being jerked, horse collar on the LCM sideline, late hits both ways that weren’t called. If this is the best the local chapter can do I would urge the coaches to look at other chapters for the sake of the players. Both teams played hard and it was a great atmosphere, but the officials were bad for both teams.

. I’m sorry LCM is the better football team. If you watched football you would know calls go your way sometimes and sometimes they don’t!! Don’t blame the refs, maybe cheer for the better team, and that’s guess who, this year, LCM. Good luck though rest of year blaming the refs. I would just enjoy having a great year which BC is. Just not better than LCM!! That’s ok though

LCM is just the better team. I was at game and saw penalties on both sides of ball. And saw BC coach on LCM sideline almost. Some penalties were called and some missed. Just like any HS game played in SETX. Great Job Bears.

I normally never blame a loss on referees but if this wasn’t obvious favoritism towards Peevey, then I don’t know what is. Any other coach does what Peevey does in a game at a different stadium, they would get a penalty thrown on them.

Congrats Mustangs! I would like to see more community support for the team moving forward.
