Sucks that this game is in the 4th round this year & not a state title trilogy! However whoever wins this one better buckle for the state finals because Richmond Randle is no joke!

  3. He did not block it. He got triple teamed and allowed #21 Jaxon Doyle to block it. He came thru untouched to practically take the ball right off the kickers foot.

Not to mention holding Huntsville and Marshall to one score is proof positive of strong defense. It’s true that overall they haven’t played as many quality opponents as PnG, but they’ve played well when they did. And, they beat a 6A d2 regional finalist Longview team. We’re battle tested too, but SOC is ready for us.

  7. Probably not an easy way to verify this, but I’m hoping there’s some PnG history sleuths who might be able to answer: Is Jackson Christian the player with most games played in PNG history? Unless I’m mistaken, he’s been a starter for the last four years. We played 13 (2021), 16 (2022), 16 (2023), and will have at least 14 this year. I know he missed the Port Arthur game in 2023. There may be some other games where he was injured and didn’t play. But, it’s pretty staggering to think about how many more played games he’s had than most players. A lot of guys get 10 whole games for their whole high school varsity career. He’s pushing around 59 (depending on what games he’s missed). For some sense of the scale, I think he was the only player from either Texas High or PNG who played in both the 2021 and 2024 games. In summary, is anyone aware of the following? (1) what his actual games played number is; and (2) if there has ever been another png player to play so many or more games? I’m not sure it’s possible anyone has matched his number. The other long stretch we had with deep playoff runs was from 1974-1977 and we played a total of 58 games in that stretch. We’re about to play our 59th game in this 2021-2024 stretch. There could theoretically be a freshman starter from the 1974-1977 who played in all four years and had 58 games under his belt. If Jackson missed a few games, he won’t be quite at 59 games played (depending on how you count games where he’s on the sideline injured). I know he missed last year’s Port Arthur game. Regardless of where he actually falls in the list, it’s clear he’s one of the best and most experienced players in PNG history. His leadership really showed last week.

  8. Just wanted to give a shout out to AD/HC Randy Smith of Silsbee. Coach Smith has now been at Silsbee for 9 seasons. His overall record is 78-32. District record 38-9 and playoff record is 18-9. He has won 3 district championships, 7 Bi-District championships, 6 Area championships, 3 regional finals (2 championships) 2 state semifinals. His teams have made it to the 3rd round or better in 6 of his 9 seasons. They have averaged 3rd round over those 9 seasons. Here is a breakdown of each of those seasons: Overall District Playoffs 2016 6-5 4-1 R 0-1 2017 7-5 4-1 C 2-1 2018 10-5 3-1 R 4-1 2019 9-4 3-1 R 4-1 2020 7-3 5-1 R 1-1 2021 5-5 4-2 T 0-1 2022 13-1 6-0 C 3-1 2023 12-1 6-0 C 2-1 2024 9-4 3-2 T 2-1 He has won 72% of his games overall, 81% of district games and 69% of playoff games. All this as a first time HC. Coach Smith has also been an excellent AD. Silsbee has a very successful athletic program. Congrats to Coach Smith on what I consider one of his best coaching years this season.

On another note, PNG better be ready to back up the brinks truck for Joseph! There’s some big time 6A jobs that I’m hearing will open up here soon and he’ll be at the top of the list!

  12. You're probably correct. #4 and #43 have played in a lot of games also, although #43 was injured off season and has only had liited playing time even into the playoffs.

All I will say is that individuals always pick against PNG when the opposing team has more athletes and talent. They never put any other thought into their choice. Which is okay, they are entitled to their moron opinion. Friday around 10 PM my case will be proven again.

  14. My bet is Trump will fire him within 24 hours, if he does not leave on his own. Biden gave Trump all the ammunition he needed when he said under his own DOJ that Hunter was ONLY went after because of who he was. So it appears Biden and Trump both agree the DOJ/FBI is corrupt

  19. Honestly, I would have pardoned the goofy bastard too. Just like Trump also said he would've done. It was a sensationalized case. Only difference is, Biden was stupid enough to say he wouldn't do it, originally.

  21. Biden says Hunter’s charges and convictions were politically motivated when the actual motivation for political purposes was Biden saying he wouldn’t pardon Hunter while a presidential race was happening. Biden’s circus handlers knew pardoning Hunter wouldn’t sit well with the American people. Since Trump steam rolled them with his retaking of the Presidency, it became a non-factor. There are still plenty of charges on which the Biden crime family can be brought to justice.

I was at the playoff game in '92. I seem to remember a RB that was a stud for Silsbee but don't remember his name. Anyway, I'm off topic and will ban myself for a couple of days now.

I watched the Brenham game and they’re not beating SOC or PNG. Aside from Callis, I wasn’t impressed with them. Brenham controlled the LOS the majority of the game, not having Dixon at RB was the deciding factor.

If Randle makes it to state (highly likely) I think they’re the favorite against whoever makes it out of our side of the bracket. No one is perfect, but their defense is a massive challenge. Not allowing more than 14 points across 13 games is insane for a big school in the spread era, and they’ve played some solid programs.

  35. Just watched the NDN press broadcast, after a rerun, PNG could've easily won by a bigger margin. Really reimpressed by how the Defense handled their star running back. Also very pleased with the sportsmanship shown by several PNG players after the game who were taking time to comfort #1 for TH who was crushed for losing. Great game, my face is cramping from smiling for the last 36 hours. 😃

We ran into a guy in Natchitoches in the hotel this past weekend. He stopped and asked “does that PNG on your shirt stand for Port Neches?” we said yes it does and he ended up telling us he “hated our guts” lol and that he graduated from Port Arthur Lincoln. very very nice man. Small world.

They made the right hire at AD. O’Malley hasn’t made a bad hire yet imo. Hopefully we keep him and President Taylor for many years. Both are the best we’ve had at their jobs in a long while.

  43. Moshier also finished first in career completions (309) attempts (512) and most 300 yard passing games (6). He had four 5 TD passing games. The record for most passing TD's in a game for Silsbee is 7 by Brisbane vs. Cuero. Moshier's 26 starts as a QB ranks top 5 all time at Silsbee. Trails only Jeremy Johnson (34), Bobby McGallion (33), Patrick Reed (28) and Bryan Doss (27).

I think the correct thing would be to say SOC was in a weaker district… Which is true BUT they did beat Huntsville 38-7…Who PNG only beat by 3 points… I think we can agree that nothing in the regular season that happened matters now

  45. Silsbee QB Mikey Moshier ended as the all time passing yards leader at Silsbee. Finished his career with 5,535 yards. Breaks the career record of Mason Brisbane's 4902 career passing yards. He failed to break Brisbane's career passing TD's of 64. Moshier finished with 59 career passing TD's.

  48. Well we can now move past that trolling nomination (and for the record, no one appreciates a good troll more than me). A lot of speculation that this was an elite chess move by Trump to get Gaetz to resign since he basically doesn’t get along with anyone in Congress and he knew he had zero chance in getting him and his joker-esque eyebrows confirmed anyway. If so, well played Mr. President, well played. Makes a lot more sense from that perspective.
