PNG vs SOC

This moron took PNG last year, but went SOC this year, JMO I just dont think PNG's defense is at the level they were a year ago...I also believe SOC's defense is a step or two above where they were a year ago...should be a close hard-fought game where a PNG win is definitely not going to be a shock5 points -

Had I lost, I would have lived up to my end of the deal. I was raised that my word is the only thing a man or the government can't take from me. Among other this, that taught me to not take bets or dares I could not fulfill.3 points -
PNG's defense has improved drastically. TH would've scored 50+ on PNG's defense from earlier in the season and they held them them to their lowest points of the season last week. TH offense in my opinion is more explosive than SOC. SOC by far has more talent but PNG has proven the last 3 years that doesn't matter. If the Indians can hang around like last week I think they will win.3 points

He's building a legacy at PNG... he isn't going anywhere, even if someone throws big money at him. There is more to coaching than just money. I am married to a coach/girls coordinator. This is our 3rd school to be at in 9 years, and we feel "at home" finally. Me being a former player of PNG, I can't imagine having the gratitude, support, and appreciation the PNG community is giving Jeff.3 points -

Once again your TDS either blinds you to the facts or you intentionally did what you falsely accused D’Souza of doing. Were you simply swept up in the emotion or did you intentionally tell one big fat lie? The article that you cited at no point says that D’Sousa lied or admitted to lies. Did you read the article or just the headlines, got severe TDS and your brain neurons went into overdrive, sparking this way and that? You can choose not to believe him if you wish but your statement is completely false. According to the article that you posted, D’Souza said that they based the film on what was believe to be correct information. It relied on a third party’s video backed up by cell GPS data. In fact, according to your article, the data was correct. The false information was that at least one of the people videoed (and blurred) did in fact harvest ballots but it was revealed to be for own family which is completely lawful. As D’Souza stated, they have recently learned that the information was false. Basically, he only admits that he was duped. You can choose to believe him or not. We all have the ability of free thought. Feel free, however to point out where in the article that Desouza “admitted that” it was a “big fat lie”. Point out where D’Souza admitted to lying. In fact D’Souza made this comment quoted from your article, “the underlying premise of the film holds true.” Basically he doubled down and said that the premise of the book was correct. So D’Souza didn’t admit to lying at all but said that the premise of video and the geodata/GPS was correct. He claimed that the information given to him about the reason that the harvesting was in at least some cases, false. So your claim that D’Souza “admitted” to one big fat life, is one big fat lie. Again, were you overcome by excitement on seeing the headlines or did you actually read it and ignore the parts that you didn’t like or simply made a false statement?2 points -
La Porte vs Angleton
Mr. Buddy Garrity and one other reacted to OlDawg for a topic
La Porte Coach Berneathy got his first THSFB coaching job at La Porte in 2007 when he was hired by LP coach Jeff LaReau as the OL coach. He stayed at LP through the 2012 season, and then he went to LaMarque to be the OC and was very successful. Then, he went to Dickinson—also as OC—and Dickinson had some good offensive teams. He left Dickinson and took the OC job at Angleton. As OC, he helped lead Angleton to the 2017 Semis. He left Angleton to become the HC & Coordinator at Dobie, turned the program around, and led them to a 33-10 record with a DC during his time. He had the opportunity to return to his first TXHSFB coaching roots at La Porte, took it in 2022, and has 2 DC’s from two different districts, and 3 PO wins so far advancing to this State Quarterfinal in his 3rd full year. What’s more impressive is that the 2 DC’s are without playing a true home game in those 2 years as the new stadium is being built. Truly an accomplishment for the young men, their supportive families, the coaching staff, and the administration via their support of the program. He’s brought LP football back to the condition & tradition it had for decades until a couple of hires set the program back. He’s been rewarded with great appreciation from the players, parents, fans & community. He’s also getting something coaches dream of… A brand new, top-of-the line stadium, training field & weight rooms. We’re glad he’s back!2 points -
I watched a youtube video of so many Democrats saying about Trump….. no one is above the law!! As we now see, unless it’s a Democrat’s family. The World certainly will not stop because Hunter Biden got pardoned. There are plenty of criminals out there that haven’t even been charged, much less convicted. It seems overly hypocritical to ever complain about Trump from the other side of the aisle when the people complaining have done worse. People in glass houses should not throw stones and the Democrats sure throw a lot of them. Gerald Ford pardoned Richard Nixon, Bill Clinton pardoned his brother and so on. Who cares? I don’t recall any of them ever making a campaign promise or a political commentary that they absolutely would not do it. I will gladly point out that both sides do the same thing. Most of the time I think whataboutism should not be brought into an argument. If you did something wrong, then own up to it. Don’t try to dismiss bad conduct because the other guy did it also. This time however, it seems apropos when the left side of the aisle who lives by pointing at Trump for seemingly bad conduct while completely ignoring their conduct. Most of those other pardons have come at end of a president’s term, where he is walking out the door and has no loss politically. It is interesting then as to why now? Is it yet another Democrat attempt at DEI gotcha? Is Biden suddenly going to resign and make Harris the first female president… for about 10 days? 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 The entire Biden presidency has been a DEI farce. I suspect no different for these last couple of weeks. Remember that if Biden had not run for Office again, even though he promised he wouldn’t, there is absolutely no way that Harris would have been the nominee. Just like in 2020, where she got approximately 2% of the polls in her favor, and it had to be the first to drop out, she would have been destroyed by the candidates within her own party. This has likely been a set up from the get-go and all of this was planned. Harris got beat worse than any Democrat presidential candidate in decades and by Trump, who had the Democrats put up an actual good candidate, might have beaten. DEI has crumbled the Dems attempt at an empire and I suspect that they will double down and pull one last comedy skit.2 points

Definitely...the swapping of teams threw something off in the page editing process because I was the one who wrote the preview....Tepper felt horrible about it and did a seperate story on Angleton... The changes after realignment threw something else on that page off because we had La Porte 15th in the state pre-season but like 6th in district (Coach Berneathy you are welcome for the bulletin board material lol)2 points -

Hey, it comes down to a bunch of high school kids vs another bunch of high school kids , each team under the guidance of a coach. Execution & game management is always the key. That goes for whether you are from the Dallas Mecca High School of SOC, or the chemical plant Reservation of PNG. Let's play the game & see who wins!!! I am hoping the rain is not as much a factor, but if so, I'll take those Indian Boys pounding the ball out in the trenches!!!🏈1 point

SOC is probably still a little tee'd off from last year. I'm sure this one has been marked on the calendar all year. If you don't pressure that QB the game will be over quick. But I'm thinking your coaches already know this. He wasn't prepared for the Dogs, but I think he'll be prepared Friday. Good Luck Indians.1 point

Always tough to beat a team twice in one season. But I've seen it the past few seasons. As long as LP continues to stick to what's got them this far. The sky is the limit as to har far they can go. We’re at the point of the season where the cream begins rising to the top.1 point -

Yep Moron! It will be proven again this Friday! 🤣 SOC is good, but they don't have near the fire power as Texas High. I like PNG chances a lot. Only thing I worry about SOC, is the running QB. Other than that, their defense will not be able to stop PNG every series. Plus we will make the extra points this weekend. LOL1 point -

From the Ethridge run, 1975-1976-1977, a few players played in 44 games and they were 41-3 with a state championship in 1975, semi-finals loss in 1976, and state finals loss in 1977. In the 1970s, teams only played 15 games per year, not 16. The playoff path was five games, not six (only one team per district made the playoffs). I believe the kids who started all three years were OL Kern and OL Cooley. The others I'm not sure. I could be wrong. That was 47-49 years ago. Somebody else can follow-up and correct me. Also, the PNG website has a history section and you can probably look it up. RB James Shipley, OL Howard Kern, OL Jeff Cooley, LB Ted Brack, and WR Ronnie Delcambre. I may have missed someone. Too long ago. From his sophmore season through the Texas High game, I believe Jackson Christian has played in 45 games and he has the hardware to match the guys from the 1970s...so he's the clubhouse leader and it would take another long run next year for JRs Aaron Wolford or Connor Bailey to catch him. It's late, I hate math, and I could be all wrong. Someone else can weigh-in. Go Indians!1 point

La Porte vs Angleton
Mr. Buddy Garrity reacted to OlDawg for a topic
I remember Matt saying it was all screwed up. BG brought it up and mentioned they had LP ranked 15 in state, but 5th in district in the print edition. The print edition looked like they listed district teams in alphabetical order, omitted Angleton, and never proofed. I get the feeling there’s a big push for viewership/digital offerings/game projections, and some of the investigative detail that used to make them special is slipping through the cracks. Not a slam. Maybe just trying to do too much too quick.1 point -

If I were to do them, it most likely would be 6A-4A, 3A-1A. A top 12. Or could do a 6A-5A, 4A-3A, 2A-1A top 8. The breakdown of the number of teams we cover here are as follows: 6A 8 teams 5A 15 teams 4A 14 teams 3A 21 teams 2A 14 teams 1A 8 teams If you did two polls, then it would be ranking 37 and 43 teams. If you did three, it would be 23, 35, 22. The problem with doing a ranking that involves three different classifications is folks will always bring up that the smaller schools couldn't beat the larger schools. Most times that is true but that is not what a three classification ranking is about. Some just don't get it.1 point -
