Unfortunately, this is the situation that has been created by the admin at BH. No one wants to uproot their family, move them to BH, just to be removed in a few years for not doing what they are told. Especially with the move to 6A pending, this job is at its absolute least degree of desirability at this very moment. Abseck would've stayed and continued to build for years to come, but alas, that ship has sailed. They were in the same boat many years back when they ran Don Price off but then began the inflated salary technique to lure in big time candidates. Gauge, Westerberg and Abseck later, they find themselves in the same boat with very few chips left to play to lure in a big fish. I have no doubt they'll get a great coach, but the days of hand picking their guy are probably over.4 points

Silsbee won't see Yates, Washington, Stafford or Huffman in the playoffs. All will go DI. Silsbee will go DII. Wheatley will be their main opposition. But Silsbee will need to worry about all opponents.2 points -

I tend to agree with you BUT, the word is spreading through the coaching ranks that most do not want to deal with the current admins (Supt) at BH. That is a real thing and not just coach banter.2 points -

I think that he is having more fun than at any time in his life because he is trolling the media and Democrats (same thing). Next he will claim that he will sign an executive order that will combine California, Arizona, Nevada, Idaho, Montana, Utah and Wyoming so that the entire state will be Republican and without California’s 54 electoral college votes, the Democrats will never be able to win. The funny part will be when the media fact checkers, newly out of work from Facebook, will explode trying to explain that only Congress can do it and blah blah blah. 🤣🤣🤣2 points -

BH kid kicked his leg out and initiated contact, if any. Saw this called an offensive foul in a college game this past weekend. Personally, I’d like to see more of that. Here my best guess is there was little if any contact because the point of contact would have been in a very “sensitive” area and would have garnered a reaction from the defender. Therefore, a no call along with a flop warning seems most appropriate. But when the shooter does initiate contact from kicking one of his legs out in an attempt to draw a foul, I wish an offensive foul was called more. It would go a long way to eliminating this James Harden mimicry that is polluting the game.2 points -

Hopefully BH will get a consulting company since that seems to be the popular thing now. BH is an attractive job, but the area can’t compare to the hill country IMO ,so leave those coaches alone. 😎 Find someone with kids in the intermediate to JR high age group, so they stay a bit. BH needs an up in coming in other words.2 points

Vidor 53 West Orange-Stark 54/FINAL
BBfan061 reacted to AggiesAreWe for a topic
I agree with the arena setting. Can cause poor shooting. I was told this was the case last night. But Vidor just went 5-0 in a bigger size type gym at East Chambers tourney. Beat 4A #5 ranked LaMarque twice, 3A #17 East Chambers and 2A #3 Evadale in that setting. I saw all four of those games and Vidor shot it very well. IMO, fouling on the three point shot was the killer. I have seen WO-S shoot the three ball. There was a 85-90% chance that shot wasn't going in.1 point -

It's the arena. I'm telling you. It's becoming the best home court advantage in the district. Vidor would have made one of those free throws in a gym with a wall behind the backboard. Discomfort and disorientation. The rest of the district teams have gyms and nothing more. They're all more or less comfortable venues except for Lumberton which plays in a hole.1 point

Those three have a compelling reason to NOT leave where they are already at. All already have really nice gigs. Yeah, I know that many will want to "see" their recusals as a jab at BH, but I don't think they would be interested in leaving their current positions for anyone. Just my 2 cents.1 point -
Another thing about Stump—positive or negative—is I believe his ex QB son is already helping him send in/call plays. So, there could be a smooth succession plan if the BH Super didn’t get in the way again. If he does, it may be easier to get a new Super than a new pedigreed coach. Get a good 5 years from Pops, then transition to his son with some continuity. I think Pops is a couple years younger than me, and he still looks like he’s in great shape. Just a thought… In my old fart mind, it could make sense for all concerned. I did see some young men in our game that had some talent. Hope they don’t get discouraged with all of this stuff. (If they do, LP is open enrollment. 😜)1 point

Whomever takes this job should have a good nucleus to work with. BH had a ton of Sophomores playing this year, so the JR class looks to be loaded for next year.1 point

This is typical Trump throwing something out to see if it sticks. The media, in perfect form and predictability, are treating this like it some moral outrage and it is consuming social media. The media has not learned, and will never learn how Trump plays them. P.S. It has not always been know as the Gulf Of Mexico......1 point -
Nope he has started every game this year as a starter. And is still out for now. That's wy I" ask if he played last night. Didn't mean anything about my first post I" was just saying we are still missing Johnson that's all. And another starter if Cardinalli didn't play. I" know Silsbee is down this year.1 point

Silsbee fans need to get used to the Tigers not routinely blowing out their district opponents. This Silsbee team is simply not as good as the teams of the past 15 years and there's nothing wrong with that. They are still a very good team. This team is still very capable of winning all their district games no matter if it's by 1 or by 50. That's all that matters. Just be happy with the fact that this team is continuing the district win streak and has a good shot at a deep playoff run. The Tigers don't have to win every game by 30 or it's considered a loss. Geeez1 point -

I think he would be a great hire stylistically but no way you could expect near similar results. During the tenure of the last three coaches I think they’ve signed 3/4 FBS kids total? Atascocita has 3/4 FBS kids in every class on their roster. I think the 6A coaching experience itself might be more valuable though. I think BH will go to the Deer Park district and Crosby will get the North Shore/CE King district when we move to 6A but as it stands right now with the cluster of schools(probably La Porte included) in the area and the current growth rates BH could be playing Atascocita in the first round of the 6A-D2 playoffs after the next alignment. I think Stump is the best candidate possible if that scenario played out?1 point -

May sound crazy. But, Stump would be an interesting choice. It would be a pay raise, and he knows the area, people and competition. From BH perspective, if they do move to 6A, he has the experience there and in the district they may move into… Of course, I wouldn’t expect him to be a long term hire. Another 5 year guy.1 point -

You're doing the assuming. I do know some. Specifically the Quarterback at Argyle. He left Lake Dallas to become the Starter at Argyle. That isn't speculation. and once again. I DO NOT CARE why they are doing it. I really don't. GOOD FOR THEM. They still need to move those schools who are benefiting to a higher classification. Otherwise they are gaining an unfair advantage on the field. That is a statement of fact. Transfer all you want to better your situation. Go for it. Don't do it at the expense of hard working teams all over the state who get pushed out by an SOC, or whatever because you stacked your team. but if you're honest about MOST situations, it isn't hard to figure out why they are moving. Perhaps those SOC coaches should have kept their mouths shut in the elevator at AT&T last year? And that's just one example. I know of many first hand accounts because of some connections in Dallas. They boast about what they're doing.1 point
