    West Hardin

Probably because, "Zero and I mean Zero political savvy. Very blunt and speaks his mind. He has expectations and refuses to bend on any. I have no inside knowledge to the situation at West Hardin but I would venture a guess that he rubbed the wrong person the wrong way." I have no idea if this is the case.. but this is a 100% SeTx (and most of rural schools) virus. I have zero sympathy for schools that run off good people for not being able to handle some possible hurt feelings.

    Congrats Jalen !

Yep. He was fun to watch live. Beat PAM & NS his Jr. year & beat PAM with a close loss to NS his senior year. Lost to La Porte all 4 years. Came close his Sr. year though in a wild 55-49 game if I remember correctly.

  7. We have 33 of the 44 playoff spots clinched. 11 more on the line for Tuesday night (and maybe beyond). Here are the playoff clinching scenarios for Tuesday, Feb. 11: 23-6A Kingwood at North Shore; Kingwood win clinches playoffs, North Shore win will force a tie with Kingwood for final spot. Play in game would be needed. 18-4A Lumberton in with an LC-M loss, LC-M needs a win and a WO-S loss to force a tie with Lumberton and a play in game. If LC-M and WO-S win, it will be a three way tie with Lumberton but Lumberton would get in with the better record between the three teams (3-1). If WO-S wins and LC-M loses, WO-S would tie Lumberton but Lumberton would be the 4th seed based on their season sweep of WO-S. 19-4A Livingston and Tarkington are in with a win or Hardin-Jefferson loss. Hardin-Jefferson needs a win over Tarkington Tuesday night to force a tie with Tarkington and possibly Livingston. A Livingston loss and a HJ win would create a three way tie for 3rd and 4th. (note: HJ has not missed the playoffs since 1998, 28 years) 21-3A Diboll in with a win and Huntington loss; Huntington in with a win and a Diboll loss. 22-3A Orangefield in with a win or Anahuac or Buna loss; Buna in with a win and an Anahuac loss; Anahuac in with a win and a Buna loss. A Orangefield loss coupled with Anahuac and Buna wins would create three way tie for 3rd and 4th. Play in/seed games would be needed. 23-3A New Waverly in with a win or Trinity loss; Anderson-Shiro in with a win and a Trinity loss; Trinity in with a win and an Anderson-Shiro loss. A NW loss couple with A-S and Trinity wins would create three way tie for 3rd and 4th spots. 24-2A Hemphill in with win and West Sabine loss; West Sabine in with win and Hemphill loss. Woden needs a win and Hemphill and West Sabine losses to force three way tie for 4th spot. 28-1A Chester in with a win or a Leggett loss; Leggett needs a win and a Chester loss to force tie for final playoff spot. Play in game would be needed. Games that have significant playoff implications for both teams: Kingwood at North Shore Tarkington at Hardin-Jefferson New Waverly at Anderson-Shiro

  10. HF has earned their ranking IMO, but Silsbee and HJ should be ranked in that same general area (20ish). HJ isn't near the team they've been for the last 6-7 years, but had they not still carried a pre-district schedule of 6A and 5A opponents they could easily have a record somewhere around 27-3. Silsbee could also be a 4-5 loss team without 5 losses before district to 5A/6A squads. HJ is still the best of these three teams, having beaten Silsbee by 19 earlier this season, and HF by 21 the other day.

  12. That is a Joe Sigler rule. And it has it's gray area, not cut and dry. Kind of like the scenario you mentioned. But from what I know, there are still consequences for any tech. Only thing that gets you suspended is an ejection. District and UIL has a rule for that and so does Silsbee. These last few weeks of multiple techs being issued to Orangefield players is alarming. There was one game where 4 different players got a tech. I don't recall ever seeing that before. I agree with what is being said. Some lack of leadership among the players.
