  1. Out of the 23 nominees for the top positions in the Trump administration (Secretaries of Education, State, Homeland Security, FBI, HUD, UN, etc) both confirmed and unconfirmed, who are not straight white males Scott Bessent - First openly gay Secretary of the Treasury. Pam Bondi - Female. Attorney General. Lori Chavez-DeTemer - Hispanic female. Secretary of Labor. Tulsi Gabbard - Female Asian/Pacific Islander, Director of National Intelligence. Kristi Noem - Female. Director of Homeland Security. Brooke Rollins - Female. Secretary of Agriculture. Marco Rubio - Hispanic. Secretary of State, highest position below the presidency. Scott Turner- Black. Secretary of HUD. Elise Stefanik - Female. UN Representative. Kash Patel - Asian. FBI Director. Kelly Loeffler - Female. Director of Small Business Administration. Linda McMahon - Female. Secretary of Department of Education. More than half of Trump’s nominations for the key positions in his administration are minorities and most have been confirmed. So much for the White/Male good ol’ boy system…. Honestly, I would be almost disappointed if you actually knew the truth but you never seem to disappoint.

    DOGE!!

Agree 100%, but I don’t think that’s the goal of DOGE, but I’m sure some instances of fraud rather than incompetence will lead to consequences.

  4. Thanks. If no injuries then it is a Class C misdemeanor like a traffic citation. In a Class C charge, a judge cannot issue a jail sentence and can only assess a fine. That’s a bit of a blow up for a shove. About 98% of the time it would not even be reported. In maybe an interesting side note, Class C assaults in Texas have two offenses. One can be by contact with no injuries but the contact would reasonably be believed would be offensive or provocative. Shoving someone, poking them in the chest with a finger, patting a waitress on the butt as she walks by, etc. The other is a threat like I will kick your butt. The display of a deadly weapon, a threat of death and so on are much more serious charges up to years in prison so don’t confuse them. Again, an assault by threat might be something like, I’m about to come over there and give you a fat lip. None of that is really interesting however but since this is a sports forum….. A sports participant is a player, coach, official, etc. If any person “other than” a sports participant commits a Class C assault against a sports participant, it becomes a Class B misdemeanor and up to 180 days in jail. So if an angry parent shoves but doesn’t injure a ref/coach/player or says something like, I’m about to jump this fence and whip your butt, it is up to 180 days in jail and/or up to a $2,000 fine. This doesn’t apply to the sports participants with each other. So if the players shove each other, the coaches and so on, the police aren’t out there to start arresting them. Leave it on the field. If people in the crowd interfere however, they could be in a good bit more serious trouble, even when there are no injuries.

  6. Simple solution….calling it the Gulf of Mexico is actually misinformation and against the rules of true journalism. Simply call it the Gulf of America. How hard is that?

  7. Like I said, I believe this to be a set up to get a particular coach removed. Just my opinion.

  8. From my knowledge no punches were thrown, just some hard shoving.

I think you're just being a troll, but anyway that's a poor analogy. And it's a poor result from UIL, to withdraw a team from playoffs, that isn't in the playoffs anyway. It's like punishing a 10 yr old by "taking away" his/her non-existent driver's license. It's just an old fashioned cop out by the UIL, is what it is.

They didn't get the same punishment. Burkeville was never going to the playoffs. There was no punishment given to them. Both TV stations got it wrong. They both assumed that Burkeville was eligible for playoffs. That was incorrect. Only playoff punishment given by SEC was to Hull-Daisetta. There was no playoff punishment available to give out to Burkeville. Don't know how to make that any more clearer.

Gonna have to disagree with you here. How can the punishment be the same when one’s season was already over and the other was supposed to keep playing. If they had 10 games left in the season and both were cancelled then your argument would have some merit.

  16. Burkeville was not going to the playoffs. They were 6th in the standings so it's not the same. Hull-Daisetta lost out on going to the playoffs. Burkeville didn't lose out on anything.

  19. How is he qualified. He didn't know anything about Medicare part A, B,C, and D. He should be embarrassed. Trump is hiring unqualified white people like a good ole boy.

I saw the entire Hudl film for this "short lived" game. It shows the entirety of the game and not just the small clips that were shared to the TV stations and out on social media. Looking at the film, it was Burkeville that instigated this brawl but H-D didn't handle it too well themselves. Both sides could have done better. I just think it's wrong to eliminate H-D from the playoffs when they played a game against a team that was not in playoffs. Kind of Burkeville had nothing to lose in this situation. Let H-D play the playoffs with whatever players they can put out there (whoever wasn't suspended and JV players). At least that decision doesn't effect other teams. By taking H-D out, this changes things for Spurger, Chester, Wells, Kennard and Groveton Centerville. All those games had already had their opponents, dates, times and venues set. Now everyone involved is scrambling to make the needed changes and hoping they can get venues that all involved can agree on. Just not fair to those teams. H-D will be appealing to Austin tomorrow. I highly doubt it gets over turned but I sure hope it does. Just think this was the wrong decision considering the situation. Other than Hull-Daisetta losing out on this decision, but Spurger loses out as well. They go from being Div. II #1 and playing Kennard to Div. I #2 and playing #9 state ranked Wells. Just think this was a bad decision for all involved.
