No. Launching American communications and military satellites is a national security and communications issue. If NASA can lauch dozens of satellites each week at a cheaper cost than Space X, they need to do so. If NASA could keep up cheaper, why did Biden give billions of dollars to Space X? It is not like sending $2,500,000 to Viet Nam for electric cars, $20,000,000 for Sesame Street in Iraq or $2,000,000 for sex charges in Guatemala.

Yes. Every government has waste in every department. I know in my police department they were spending about $200,000 annually on typists that we didn’t need. Not surprised by this-the delay tactic on tract to insure a late hire to not have sufficient time to have Spring ball. The new hire will be required to keep most of those old heads thats been there forever. Same soup different year. Same results and the band played on. Drain the swamp top to bottom allow those old coaches to keep their teaching jobs but vacate due to the stagnant results year after year. Shame on the process to get a winning coaching staff. $300B over five years comes out to $60B per year. The US is currently spending about $850 - $900B. I think the 2025 budget is sitting at $900B. That’s more the next six highest countries combined. Four of those six are allies. China and Russia can combine their annual military spending and it doesn’t equal the US. In fact the US budget is 300+% more than Russia. If Russia is licking their lips thinking that the US military is suddenly threadbare then they had better take a closer look. Assuming the cuts go through, the US will spend about $840B next year and Russia will spend $225B with much of that tied up in Ukraine. Gee, we are only outspending Russia by a little over $600B. That is why the US has 11 nuclear super carriers in different battle groups while Russia and China have…. zero nuclear carriers of the three oil burners that they have combined. I am not a Wheatley homer because I live in or near Houston. I am much more familiar with Wheatley than i am 3rd ward so the same thing goes for Yates. I am as surprised as anyone that they have teams in the playoffs. Given today’s political climate especially towards public schools, that is a miracle. Yates coach Wise is a respected coach. Would you get rid of cable, cook more at home, cut out trips and other entertainment? Would you seasonally adjust your thermostat? Would you opt for keeping your vehicle for a few more years after paying it off instead jumping into another car note? Would you refinance high interest loans and consolidate your debt? Would you opt for a higher deductible on home and auto insurance policies to lower your premium? Would you make a list for grocery shopping that adheres to your budget and helps avoid impulse shopping - maybe even use coupons and look for items on sale? Would you make every effort to avoid loans and live on a cash basis instead of racking up credit card debt that becomes virtually impossible to payoff when only making the minimum payments (not to mention the additional high interest you incur)? There are literally dozens of more examples I could give, but if you answered yes to many or even any of those leading questions above, then you are doing the same thing Trump, Musk and the DOGE are doing. Anyone who has worked in BISD would beg to differ. United gets whatever they want when it comes to athletics. Years ago WB had donors waiting to turf baseball field with private funds and the school said they could but if they did, the school would have to pay for United to get turf because they want everything the same. In reality United is treated better than WB when it comes to athletics. AD is a good dude, but a basketball dude. BTW maybe it's not the coaches that are on board there, maybe the talent pool in Beaumont has gone down due to athletes leaving and going to Silsbee, HJ, HF, and PA because of the crap show that is BISD. Having worked there and I loved my time and the kids that were there, I can tell admin is not given the tools for success from the top. Another note is look how many former coaches and BISD players that are coaching at the schools I mentioned earlier and see how many kids from Beaumont have left.
