Soulja please stop it, I had to chance to work closely with Green during his time at NS & he’s NEVER been a big X&O’s guy. Even if you go watch him the past 4-5 years with Yates & company…he didn’t run anything spectacular, he just had the players. Which nothing is wrong with that, but when you don’t have those dudes you gotta be able to make adjustments & like I said earlier Green is a sure fire HOF, but I call a spade a spade. Side note: being in the building and watching this game, I can’t help but wonder how much more successful BISD athletics would be if it only had one school.

I haven't noticed yet, especially with the construction around the school.

Most of BU team were unexperienced at the varsity level , most of them this was their first year playing varsity! They’ll be okay !

Major credit to Hitchcock players and Coaches. They showed their experience and hit big time shots at every moment they needed one. Awesome environment and experience.

Side note: anyone who ever questioned whether Mike T was a good hire…this playoff run should quiet all of that noise.

IMO, something of this nature should be put on the ballot for the public to vote on. But the special interest groups don't want that.

Actually they went to state the first year after he left 🤣🤣 with the same kids he lost the previous year with in the 2nd round of the playoffs. Green left NS after being one of the highest paid coaches to take the BU job because he knew the talent pool was drying up. Lol which was a great move might I add. Lol Soulja so misinformed Let me let you in on a little secret Souja, having been involved in recruiting & coaching of players that were recruited I kinda know a little bit. Having a scholarship “offer” means nothing in 2025. There’s this thing called “commitable” & “non-commitable” offers. If he can’t call that school & commit to them then he’s not a D1 player. Also if you go read my previous post I said EJ is possibly the only D1 player on the floor. But it’s honestly too early to tell at this point. I like G kid can play, but he’s not a D1 basketball player IMO, I could be wrong though.

Yes any team that Green has took to state or won state with had DUDES! He had two Division 1 players when he won state at NS (Jerray Foster SMU & Kerwin Roach Texas) along with several other players that played college basketball. That NS team he won state with was loaded! Same when he was at Hightower. And to answer your question no I don’t think Green would win state if he had G. I’ve been on record saying that the two Beaumont teams are some of the least talented Beaumont has had in a while. High probability there wasn’t a single Division 1 basketball on the court last night. & yes a good coach has to have the ability to run sets and have an overall offensive philosophy/foundation. I think Green is a damn good coach, however the offensive side of the ball isn’t his strong suit. I’ve been watching Green for years, his bread & butter is “One Call” which is 4 out with a high ball screen being set by the big. That is elementary stuff, no way you watched that game and thought United looked competent on the offensive end of the floor. A bunch of 1on1 iso ball, which has been a critic of mine for Green for years. Diff is he ain’t have a Wesley, Dotson etc to do it with this year. Now some will tend to think he overachieved this year with this group but did he really? With the watered down split divisions? I guess 🤷🏽‍♂️

So you mean to tell me on his previous successful stops where he’s won titles or got to the state tournament , he had those guys? Think about that for a moment and I’ll revisit that one. Also, in order to WIN the title, you’ll need that guy. See WB’s success? Do you think Coach Green win a title with Lil G on his roster? Also, running plays makes you a good coach? Or being able to do things that’s conducive to your team? You keep talking about x and o’s. There’s things that the previous teams with Arceneaux’s, Yates, Dotson, ect could do within the flow of the game. I’ve seen plays drawn up for those previous teams and seen them execute them consistently. This 2024-25 BU team were raw, young, and VERY limited on what they could do. Gregg Poppovich probably wouldn’t have had better success.

I had a weird feeling about this game when I seen WB close that last game in a 15-“ run. In this game, WB went on another one of those runs when BU went up early. BU is so young and WB was just the better team all year. And that offense they run is pretty much all they can do based on the personnel. My same gripe I’ve been having all year. We’re small and they could never figure out how to consistently feed the post. BU will be back next year. Watch. But heck of a game, WB. Also been saying all year that ‘G’ is that guy. And he’s gonna show the state now. Go win the ‘ship, boys. I’m all in with them! #BGOE!

If the roster I'm looking at is the correct one, Wheatley has 11 seniors on their team, including their best players. I'm not sure how us Tiger fans should feel.
