It's very simple. Why employ 25 when 10 can do the job just as efficiently?3 points -

I saw this on X: "For some reason when JoeBama was firing workers for refusing the vaccine, not one Democrat spoke up. But firing federal workers for wasting taxpayer money is the end of democracy as we know it according to the democrats." Now, would this be the definition of hypocrisy?!2 points -

Should people get to keep their jobs even if they aren't needed? they're downsizing and eliminating wasteful and unnecessary programs, and eliminating unneeded and redudant positions in necessary programs. it works exactly the same way the private sector does. If a hospital closed its cardiology dept would they keep paying cardiology nurses and doctors? It's kind of funny how concerned the left is about jobs being cut now. I never heard a word about it in 2024 when 20.3M American employees were laid off across the country.2 points -

I hate that people lose a job but those decisions are made everyday in every job sector there is. I am in oil and gas, I have been through lay offs, had to hustle to find work with bills, kids and wife worried. No one was crying on a message board for me and I would not want them to. In my work, we hire contract guys to do some of the work for us. They are brought in with a timeline and work that needs to be completed. When it is done they are laid off and find another contract. If I kept guys on after the contract was over because I felt bad for them, our company would go bankrupt. Sort of like our government is doing right now. The government has a bunch of workers (hundreds of thousands) that basically have no oversight. They are not bad people but they have a system they can play. Many people on the left do not understand why we wanted a Donald Trump in office. The argument always was "he has no political experience". EXACTLY, look what decades of 'political experience' has gotten us. We need a business mind and model to make government efficient. If companies in the private sector were run like the government, the would not last 3 or 4 years.2 points

I don't understand why they don't see doing the same thing is not going to change anything. Trump has not changed his approach since 2015 when he announced he was going to run. Today he is more popular than he has ever been......Democrats are polling at all time lows....... I hope they don't, but Democrats need to admit they were supporting and focusing on the wrong things. Trump has hit the things most people care about, and that is why he won every swing state and picked up votes in EVERY demographic.....as he says, common sense stuff......2 points -

I get your deep hatred for Trump and still trying to convince everyone you're a conservative but this is not a left/right issue. Many of the people taking advantage of the tax code are huge democrat donors as well (George Soros comes to mind). If Hillary and Biden were losing so much sleep over this tax issue why haven't they done anything about it in their 30 and 50 years in political office? You want to know why? Because they love the same provisions that Trump and Musk use. But they have convinced people it is only big, bad, mean Trump. What people need to realize is the tax code is the problem. These ultra rich guys built the system and live within the system they built. As much as you want to blame Trump it is a whole cabal of folks from both sides. I can promise you this, if you had the money they had and the ability to do so, you would do the exact same thing the ultra wealthy do. It is funny you only blame Trump and Musk because of you hatred but aren't upset that Bezos, Buffett, Soros and thousands others do the exact same thing.1 point -

The vast majority of these folks have been hired to do a job. The question is whether or not the jobs are necessary, and in many cases they are not. Whether it be surplus park rangers or people working in DEI positions, they're not stealing from tax payers. They're just working. The only way they're stealing from the taxpayers is if they're getting paid for work they aren't doing. That said, I'm all for DOGE eliminating unnecessary positions. If 22 park rangers are doing work that should be done by 15 park rangers, cut 7 positions. If there's a whole office of folks being paid by the government to implement discriminatory DEI initiatives, cut the whole office!1 point -

It used to be bud money donors. Now you have the richest man on earth (who pays ZERO federal income taxes) firing government workers… not closing the loopholes that he and the Orange Man proudly exploit. America elected a turd, and they’re about to get their reward for doing so.1 point -

With the current tax code (6,871 pages) it doesn't matter if you set the tax rate at 10% or 90%...........they will pay $0 in taxes. Stop griping about tax rates and start asking for the tax code to be done away with. Taxes could be really simple across the board from Musk and Bezos all the way down to me. Doesn't really matter what the rates are set at if the wealthy have all the write offs. BUT, none of them will attempt to change the tax code when all of their big money donors (on both sides of the aisle) want it and use the hell out of it1 point
