  1. I’m still trying to figure out where the haters went? Win or lose tonight, I think we can stop with the Alvin Brooks slander at this point.

    Stay Classy

This gotta be the most senseless thread, and the most traffic that H-D has gotten since the HDbobcat55 days.

  11. From the article: "Ignore the stock market — Wall Street dealing with painful detox from government spending addiction. Think of the current US economy as a junkie weaning himself off heroin, which is never easy. It’s been addicted to the heroin of government spending — both monetary and fiscal — for so long that we are running $2 trillion deficits when the economy is growing near 3% with low unemployment as sleepy Joe Biden spent money we didn’t have. The Trump people tell me Biden injected as much as $250 billion into the economy in his final months to get Kamala Harris elected. Again, markets did well, but inflation remained high throughout his presidency, a tax on the working class. Rich people didn’t care because they can speculate their way around the high price for staples like eggs through stocks and other inflated financial assets." Speaking of eggs -- you see that prices of eggs are coming down?! [Hidden Content]

  12. No one is "villifying real workers". You are listening to all the hysterical lies told on CNN and MSNBC. Trump is cutting out all the waste, fraud, and abuse. He targets those employees sitting at home everyday watching TV in the their pajamas collecting free pay. There is a real easy solution. Just like the pipeline workers were told, they all just need to "learn how to code". Problem solved!

  13. Getting close to wrapping up....final round may have been today....my sources say either a current Houston area 6A HC or the internal candidate.... I know a head coach in the Lubbock area interviewed and a coordinator from a powerhouse in NE Texas who had ties to Huntsville also were among the candidates who interviewed

  15. In my opinion Lamar is fortunate to have Brooks. lamar being his Alma mater is the”fortunate “ part because I believe he could ve went elsewhere that had a better program. he inherited a mess when it came to players, their attitudes and mental make up.

  16. We love to bitch and moan about coaches/coaching but aren’t so quick to give credit where it’s due. Lamar has improved every single year under Brooks’ tenure. I don’t know how much more you can ask for, especially when the one team finishing ahead of you is paying to get players who have played, could play for some lower power 4/5 schools. Marco Born was pretty much a train wreck as AD at Lamar but I think we can safely say he got this one right. Not only has Alvin Brooks done a good job building this program, he’s a fine man who is 100% loyal to the University. Let’s give credit where it’s due.

  17. Also keeps Lamar in a tie for second with SELA. I’ve seen a lot of criticism for Brooks and his staff any time they drop a game or two. But here is a cold, hard fact many, if not most of the Card faithful may not know or want to accept - in the current state of affairs in the Southland, 2nd is the ceiling for Lamar. That is to say, as long as Will Wade is at McNeese, and more accurately, as long as they are pumping the kind of money they are into their basketball program, Lamar isn’t going to compete with that. McNeese has a high mid-major NIL collective and honestly a roster to match. In fact, they have several players making more in NIL $ than the entire Lamar roster combined. Unless and until some of Lamar’s BMD decide they want to match their efforts (and Lamar’s biggest donors could buy and sell McNeese’s many times over), the Cards are not going to be able to compete with McNeese on a consistent basis. And honestly, I don’t think those guys care enough about Lamar basketball to make that a realistic probability. Love it or hate it, that’s the state of college sports and it has even hit the Southland.
