You actually have to pay money to enter the CBI tournament so other than the little bit of exposure you get maybe it is not financially practicable.

I work on the drilling side for 17 years. We are already drilling rigs. Had 12 going and will finish may to June with 5 left. And the plan is to hold tight for the remainder of the year and see what after the 1st quarter of next year brings. Yea the policies are great to lower oil prices but no company is going to drill more unless they make more. There are plenty of wells already producing that they can slow up or speed up depending on what the prices are today. I’m a hard core conservative but working in the oil industry for this long I have seen a difference in the oil industry when republicans versus democrats are in office. When democrats are In office they scare everyone and oil prices get higher so we drill more. Seems like when a republican gets office gas prices come down but the drilling stops as well. Really about $75-$77 a barrel is the sweet spot to continue drilling and not over price things.

I would have loved to have seen Lamar play in post season as well. The entry fee for the CBI is apparently a little under $30k but I’m guessing it’s probably at least that much in travel expenses per game. That team was playing really well at the end of the year though and would have been fun to see continue to play.

NIT at least used to give automatic bids to regular season conference champions (who obviously didn’t win their conference tournament and get an NCAA bid). They did away with that rule before last year’s tournament and this year added some automatic bids for power 5 conference non-NCAA qualifiers. In short, it has now just become a secondary top-tier conference tournament. If McNeese had lost in the SLC tournament, they MIGHT have gotten a bid (honestly as much to do with Will Wade, and maybe even more so, that manager who has gone viral) but the NIT will mostly be filled with very average to bad big conference schools. And as snakehead correctly stated, the other post-season tournaments are just money grabs. It is my understanding both the men’s and women’s teams turned down postseason bids this year, the women to the inaugural WNIT (which has the old men’s rule about regular season champs). My guess is the deciding factor on both was $$.

I can see your point but I feel this administration has already set itself apart by actions and the folks they have put in positions, by qualifications, not checking a box. Unless you have someone as qualified, ready to step in, which is difficult, I certainly wouldn’t can anyone just for PR reasons, and I’m willing to bet this ain’t happening again, lol.

The reason I would disagree is that this administration needs to set themselves apart from previous ones. Show that potentially dangerous missteps have equally serious consequences. Sometimes examples have to be made and a "sacrifice" may have to be made for the greater good.

Spoke to OC Matt Kuykendall last evening. Like what I heard, don't think I've ever spoke to a high school OC with the his vision. Sounds more like a college OC to me with some of the things he discussed. There is not a single negative so far that I personally can see and I've been around a long time. Your thoughts on his work at BH? The program building is happening quick. Example, there were only 55 kids moving to the freshman team next year before Abseck was hired, now they have 100 committed to play next year and they are already working an off season. New strength and conditioning coach for MS through Varsity. Several stadium and indoor practice facility improvements already done or planned to happen after graduation. The communications between the coaching staff and player parents will be upfront and personal. Not seen around here in almost 20 years. Bigger booster club involvement with player parents, things are moving very quickly, no grass growing under Abseck's feet.

The poster above is not wrong, as someone also with real experience, we always considered $80 oil / $3 gas the sweet spot. The drilling more while democrats are in office happens on private property, all you have to do is look at biden’s policies pertaining to exploration and new leases. I will also note that the only time we have achieved energy independence was under a Republican president and policies do matter, as anyone could clearly see in what was happening in the northwestern states. Conference is #6 overall in RPI. Weakest teams are around 200 RPI with the majority of the teams sitting in the top 100. On the human polls, specifically NCBWA I saw UTRGV and Lamar had some votes but they are not in top 25. It would be truly nice if we could get two bids because winning the conference tournament will be super difficult this year.

I am a huge fan of the current democrat election strategy.

Get a little better at blocking and tackling. Improve on catching the ball and running the ball while also making some gains passing the ball. If they can do this, they should improve.
