  1. Why do our schools, colleges, and professionals play football? It's a form of income. Where does that income come from? The fans.
  2. Nah. Even if you did have some chance of winning, Livingston already did that. Well technically it wasn't completed then so now ::/ As far as I'm concerned, if a stadium is playable, it's completed. Not what u said on another thread. Where did I not say this?

  4. Our new stadium is a number of things, but it is not cursed... *knock on wood* ;D

  6. We'd bring the band and the Indianettes to the chess match with Nederland. So they can console each other after another loss. It is always good to show such support of each other like that. Heck, they probably bring grief counselors to the games with them and I applaud their efforts. I'd be careful if I were you. You may just get a surprise at that chess match. ;D And by the way, on behalf of my school, I'm challenging your school to a chess match. ;D

  8. Yeah, you would think a school that used to be 5-a would have better parking access and facilities. here you go AGAIN!!!! dawging on vidor. what is your problem with vidor? For visitors, Vidor is one of the worst places to play. The visitor's stands are in terrible condition, there's almost no parking, and it seems like there's always stagnant water under the stands and everything's muddy. I can't speak to the home side because I've never been over there, but the visitor's side sucks.
  9. Vidor. I don't know what it's like on the home side, but the visitor's side is terrible.
  10. Technically, we haven't played a game since the stadium was built. "Built" implies completion. Our stadium wasn't complete until after the end of last year's football season. Putting all the technical crap aside, the last varsity football game for PN-G was under a different coach and played on a completely different system. Essentially, it was a completely different team. The spring game serves as proof of PN-G's improvement from last year. For these reasons, the results of last year's football season have virtually no bearing on PN-G's potential performance in the upcoming football season.
  11. I don't know. After last year, I'm sure it'll be a good game, but I've heard a few people say that Lumberton was looking pretty shaky in the spring practices this year. Who knows? There's a lot of time between now and football season. If we don't feel like we can be touched, then why are we saying that a few select games (including Central) are going to be toss-ups? If we can't be touched, it seems like we'd be saying that nobody is going to beat us rather than admitting that there are going to be some hard-fought games that could potentially be PN-G losses.
  12. I'm sorry, but the only toss-up games I see this year are Crosby, Nederland (it's Mid-County Madness; I don't care what team looks better, anything can happen at that game), and Central. I'd be willing to bet that PN-G wins the rest, including Barber's Hill. Last year's team beat Barber's Hill, and this year's team has already proven itself to be far better than last year's team.
  13. Actually, that wasn't a playoff game. It was a regular season game that Silsbee won 48-44. Jay McGuire rushed for 454 yards that night. He had a total all-purpose yardage of over 600 yards in that game with 6 td's. Now Silsbee and Nederland did play each other again that year in the playoffs but McGuire did not play. He had broken his leg in the regular season finale against Jasper. You would think that Silsbee wouldn't of stood a chance against Nederland without Jay but they beat the Bulldogs 34-7 in that playoff game. Stanley Rhone, Silsbee's fullback moved to the tailback position in that game and rushed for 190 yards, 3 td's. Also, in the regular season game, Silsbee chose to play a zone and not blitz and the Nederland QB Hood, picked Silsbee's secondary apart. In the playoff game, Silsbee went man defense and blitzed pretty much all night. They sacked Hood 10 times in that game, with 2 int's. It was a great defensive game plan by the Tiger coaches. I have both those games on tape, watch it every now and then. Was Nederland 3A at that time? No, Silsbee was 4A. Silsbee has just been 3A for the last 5 years. And Jasper was 4A as well? I believe Jasper dropped from 4a to 3a in the 2002 season... Ok. That makes sense.

  16. You're right about one thing. 4 teams in the playoffs is ridiculous. All part of living in a "feel-good" nation.
  17. A simple suggestion...Drop the BOJO crap and people will take you more serious. That was a horrible rip off idea from a horrible coach and is seen as down right laughable by the folks on this board and around the GT. You guys have a new coach with a new attitude and should be moving forward in the future. A new coach who tore down all the bojo crap...what i don't understand is why everyone is taking PNG seriously what do they have that would hint anything better than last year, unlike LCM. PN-G has a brand new coaching staff, and all of the coaches come with exceptional credentials. These coaches have made a lot of ground in only a few weeks. If they continue at this rate, our team will be one of the top in the district by the start of district play.

Why does that matter? Sounds like more "affirmitive action." : My exact point! Thanks! I never said that affirmitive action is a good thing. Race and sex shouldn't play a factor in society at all. Affirmitive action has made discrimination public policy. Even so, now this thread is in the process of becoming a race issue. We can now expect this thread to be locked soon.

  20. me too. Both teams are scheduled to participate in Port Arthur on Thursday (i think) so hopefully we'll get a matchup. Both teams looked good in the 7 on 7 format tonight. BTW..I spoke with Kenny after the games tonight and I mentioned how nice a Port Arthur/Port Neches predistrict game would be. He said after next season they'll have to fill schedules again and he'll be doing his part to make that happen. He thinks it would be great for the community, and the teams not having to schedule teams from Houston or further away. I'd like to see us play PAM, WO-S, and Dayton in pre-season. Those would be some great games.
  21. Why didn't we see one?
