Countdown Timer to 7 PM Zero Week...IT'S HERE!
PN-G bamatex replied to raideroldtimer's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
112 days and closing every second. -
You omitted one.
-
Move Vidor/Lumberton up one, switch PN-G and Ozen, and there's my prediction.

he also went to state prison for dealing crack.... a felony... Would you defend a Klansman like you're defending TurdX? They are one and the same. See, this is one of the major differences in you and me. I'm willing to accept a *change* in a man's life such as George Wallace the obvious racist into George the human being. Whereas, you can accept X's old life as a drug dealer. Once you are able to move on from this old news, then maybe we can start discussing his politics more in detail. We might find that you and I aren't that far apart in agreement. But I won't hold my breath No, once again you are totally wrong. I am totally willilng to accept a change in a person's life. However, TurdX hasn't changed. Just two days ago he vowed to tear Lumberton to the ground. Do you condone that? You didn't answer my question either. Would you today defend the head of the KKK? TurdX is a different side of the same coin as the KKK. QX is not going to tear or burn down down Lumberton. Maybe in a figurtive way such as his burning words of hate towards the town. Would I defend the head of the KKK? Sir, in my lifetime I have ate and conversed with more racist than you ever will in your lifetime. How many have you dined with? So, you have been talking with the "New" Black Panthers?

It's unfortunate, but many of today's so-called "civil rights activists" do it all the time. Sorry, but I have to respectfully disagree. Perhaps, many of today's public, in-your-face "civil rights activists" do it all of the time, but there are more who tackle civil rights violation in respectable ways on both sides (white and black). They just don't require T.V., radio, or newspaper time so that people will know who they are. I could see the taxation thing in the past (probably not so long ago), but not now. Our forefathers, while very insightful, were also very weak in that they couldn't or didn't set up the constitution to truly ensure that all men were created equal because that's how many of the select families made their money...off of the blood, sweat, tears and hardships, and not only of black people, but white people too. Far fewer than like 10% were slaveowners. In November, 2008, our Constitution truly came to the point that it should have been when it was initiated. Regardless of anyone's opinion on the outcome, it was representation that finally the majority of Americans were past something that should have never have been allowed to happen. Martin Luther King, Jr. was on target with how he addressed issues that he disagreed with. Civil disobedience. Gandhi did it and it works because it does the same thing as when these clowns (all of them) get in front of a camera...it brought light to the issues. This is a great country, but it is also a country that took a long time to truly represent the very document and idealogy that it was founded on. We are there now and while I respect everyone's opinion because that is their right...I don't agree with anything that calls for any type of violence or bullying. Our forefathers didn't free the slaves in the constitution because the southern states told them that they wouldn't ratify it and then there never would have been a constitution at all. It had nothing to do with powerful families, just racist states. The U.S. Constitution didn't change when President Obama was elected. I agree that the election of our first black President was a milestone for minorities, but it didn't change the constitution and it certainly did not make it any more just or valid. Elections don't do that, amendments do. While the election may have proven that the majority of caucasian Americans are over the race issue, it did not prove that the the majority of the country as a whole is over the race issue. We have to consider the possibility that many minorities voted for Barack Obama solely because he is black, just as many people voted for John McCain solely because he is white. As sad as it is, I don't think that any of the races in America will completely come to terms with the race issue in any of our lifetimes. I could be wrong, but I just don't see it happening.

Which team will show the most improvement from last year? Ozen or PN-G. I don't think LC-M is really going to get underway for a few years, and Central doesn't really need to improve. Look how far they went in the playoffs last year, and they replaced their HC with someone on their staff. Central won't improve much, but they will be a good team. Which of these four will come out on top? Central or PN-G, and, as much as I hate to say it, I'm leaning towards Central. They had a great team last year, whereas PN-G had a terrible season. Now, does PN-G have the talent to pull it off? Yes. It's just a matter of how quickly we can adapt to the new coaching style. You never know, though. We could do what Mr. Mosley says Nederland did and come on real strong. Those West Texas coaches have brought things to a whole new level for our players, that's a fact, and I'm looking forward to a greatly improved, district-winning PN-G by the end of Coach Faircloth's second season.

Most anticipated 09 pre-district game for your team?
PN-G bamatex replied to KFDM COOP's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
I think we're going to roll right over Barber's Hill, so it'll be either Texas City or Crosby. I'm going to go with Texas City. I think they would have obliterated us if we had played them last year (thanks alot, Ike), but, with the new system and the new coaches, I think we will stand a better chance this year. Crosby is going to be a good game, though. -
Probably couldn't get a rental in Lumberton. People are nervous there already. Bluedove you seem like a educated person. That you made your own destiny and provide for your family like a lot of us have. Am I somewhat correct? QX is exactly what is wrong with this country and I mean all races. Not because he is black. I can't stand the kkk or white supremacist. This guy is wealthy because he is a good saleman nothing more. He does not care about the black people, only their donations. He goes to lumberton, next thing you know he is selling his story to a tabloid. It is all about money my friend and he knows how to manipulate the system and the people especially his own race. As far as Lumberton being nervous. I don't think so. QX is not a pimple on MLK butt. MLK fought for the people. QX is about QX. Why do you have to qualify that you hate the KKK or similar groups? If you or anyone else told me you were a member of the KKK, I would still hold a conversation with you. I would just tell you "see you later" while you go to your meeting." But you have a right to your opinions and I respect it. As far as QX, I understand why they are doing this and I have to admit he is doing a good job at what he does. He has us tweaking the issues of race which is good to do sometimes. Do I agree with him about burning Lumberton? No! Do I think he will? No! In fact, I think his words were for effect only. He's doing a good job. Many of us are talking about the drama unfolding in Hardin County right now. But we need to stay focused and remember why all of this is taking place. Let us hope that justice didnot go astray as it has in so many other situations. I have a question dove, so is it a done deal already, if nothing happens then its justice has gone a stray, or if they find no wrong doing, this will not be an issue. In all fairness I do think that if there was any wrong doing, I and others know that justice wil be served. But again what if there was no wrong doing, then what. Then, Quanell X tears down the city of Lumberton because "justice wasn't served."

dawgnut, have you been at those rallies in Lumberton? ;D

Yeah, he's doing a great job alright, if his job is to accuse police officers of wrong-doing based on nothing more than a whim with absolutely no evidence to support it, and then threaten to tear down the city those officers serve when things don't go his way.

It's as fast as the can read. Read? We don't read the music to Cherokee every time we play it. We are required to memorize it and play it off to the band directors from memory at the beginning of every year. There's no reading involved. You shouldn't pay attention to anything that someone from Nerderland says. Oh, he's from Nerdland? I didn't know that. Let me rephrase my statement, then. No read Indian song all time. Learn it well for purple people. ;D -

I think one of their goals is to make it known that people are aware and watching the progress of the case and won't tolerate any shoddy investigations. Sometimes it's just a necessity to keep a good fix on a potential problem. It is what it is! It is what it is and your sugarcoating it. Crackdealer X is a thug, racist, no two ways about it. Don't try to put lipstick on a pig. Isn't he an ex-crack dealer? Thug? And how is he a racist? Courtesy of thetragichippy: Yeah I don't like #10. Has the feeling of a separtist movement. So you believe that all African Americans should be exempt from taxation, the draft (if it should ever be reinstated), and that all black criminals should be released from their prison cells and put back on the streets, simply because they're black? The idea of Texas's separation from the US was not racially motivated, it was motivated by a big, overbearing, overspending government and the losses of states' rights and firearm rights. It says "should be exempt from ALL TAXATION as long as we are deprived of equal justice......." And if you are referring to Texas' separation back to the Civil War, please don't spread such lies. I was not referring to Texas' secession during the Civil War. I was referring to the recent calls for secession during the "tea parties." So, again, you agree that African Americans should be exempt from taxation? Because of the lack of "equal justice"? Well, then why don't we all just stop filing our taxes? Justice is decided by the jury, and the government does its absolute best to make sure that a fair jury is provided. Isn't that why the lawyers question the jurors and then must approve their placement in the jury before the trial begins? It seems to me that this failsafe would prevent the practice of unequal justice. He's gonna say a white appointed attorney would not be fair representing a black person. : Then the government has exhausted every effort to find the defendant fair representation. He can trust that his tax dollars were used with the best of intentions, and that our forefathers and the leading agents of our government did their absolute best to find him unbiased representation in court. Even if it is a white appointed attorney representing a black defendant, it is still a farfetched idea that the attorney would not do his best to represent the defendant fairly. That's in his job description, and if he doesn't live up to that description, then, eventually, he will lose that job. That's the way the judicial system works. It is set up to best represent everyone, to make sure that each person gets a "square deal" in a courtroom. Even if that deal isn't fair, he can always appeal. There is always a way that person can seek justice. You just have to look. Noone deserves tax exemption based on race. If anything, that very idea is racist. Giving privelige to one and not the other because of color is the very idea of racism, and that is exactly what this organization, the "New" Black Panthers, stands for, and why they should never have been involved in this situation to begin with.

This is what I posted on the PN-G forum: -
I haven't been around that long so I can't really say much, but the most devastating loss I can remember is the Lumberton game this year. We were tied 10-10, went into overtime, just barely missed a touchdown, Lumberton barely makes a touchdown at the last second (and I mean barely, he was stopped right on the line), and comes out on top. That was the game where our team really tried to turn things around and at least come out of this season with something. I know that several of the football players were demoralized after that game. I think that was when they kind of just gave up. They really fought for that game.

Yes, but, as I said earlier, our tax rate has dropped. Don't get me wrong, our taxes are still outrageous, but that is moreso the county's fault then it is the school district's. Now, our rate was lower than yours to begin with because we have all these refineries, some of which are expanding. That's what shielded us from the major tax hikes with our bond that you guys are facing with yours. But still, to have one bond passed, one in the works, and still have a decrease in taxes is rare. The county is the real problem when it comes to taxes, not the school districts. But, that's what you get when you live in a "blue" county.

Is this from the current bond? Sorry for taking so long to reply to this. I forgot I had posted in this thread. Yes, this is from the current bond. I believe the district did it like this because, even while this bond was on the table, they were already talking about the next bond (tentatively scheduled for 2014) in which they would completely replace the elementary schools. Although the plans weren't final, it was a safe bet, and really still is, that the bond would be approved by the school board and again at the polls, and the schools would be replaced within the ten-year lifespan of the "cheap" roofs. Considering this, it was a viable strategy for our school district until the roofs started leaking. From what I understand, our school board has already contacted the contractors and they are coming out to fix the problem soon. Nederland is in a different position then we were with our bond. Y'all are trying to get everything done in one bond, whereas we were spacing things out, so this particular strategy may not work for you. Not happy? The only mention of taxes in our district was to point out that they fell .05% ($00.05 on every $100), even with the bond. Now, we have a large industrial tax base, so we aren't in a position to take a massive hit when a bond comes around in the first place, but still, to have one bond passed and another in the works and have a tax break is unprecedented. Again, we're in a different position than Nederland is, so we can't really compare the logistical or financial aspects of our bonds, only the construction and comparable conditions of our districts' schools.

3 way scrimmage - Dayton, WOS, and ??PNG??

That was my understanding as well. I'd also heard about a scrimmage with Jasper, but I'm not really sure about that one.
