Bond’s gotta do what’s best for Bond. Wish him the best at Texas.

I understand your point. Frankly, what is surprising to me in this situation is how few Alabama players have entered the transfer portal since the retirement meeting. Byrne asked the team for 72 hours, and all but a handful have given him that. Bond is the only high profile player to enter the transfer portal during that window. On the other hand, Milroe has publicly announced he’s staying. Saban is sticking around the program specifically to keep these guys invested, and it seems to be working pretty well so far.

It was written before DeBoer was hired. Most Alabama fans think Bond will come back to play for DeBoer and Grubb. A WR would have to be crazy not to.

Look at the date of the article.

Ideal 2024-25 Pre-District Schedule for Your Team

There is little on God’s green earth I would enjoy more than watching PN-G blow out Cedar Park or Austin Vandegrift. That said, it makes absolutely no financial sense to do that, and the fans will have to travel enough the next few seasons as is. -

Key word there is, “yet.” In the meantime, we have the votive candles ready to go. -
FYI, Saban will still have an office in Bryant-Denny. He made clear to all involved today that he wants to help the next coach succeed and keep the program at the pinnacle of the sport. Milroe is signaling business as usual. If it turns out to be Schumann, I’m a lot more comfortable with it under these circumstances.

If Lanning is really out of the race (I'm still skeptical), I like the idea of a DeBoer hire, provided he finds a better defense than what he fields at Washington. There have been whispers of Glenn Schumann for the HC job. I find that prospect intriguing, but he's not my first choice. I think Schumann would make an outstanding DC under DeBoer. I would also be very comfortable with Scott Cochran in that role.

Only quoting to add that Silsbee and Jasper are on my personal list of top five pre-district prospects I'd like to see PN-G play during the 2024-25 cycle. -

If I had my druthers, the UIL would reserve AT&T, NRG and the Alamodome, assign out stadium venues based on which of the three stadiums is closest to equidistant from the two high schools playing the game, and assign ref crews from chapters nowhere near either school. This would fix a lot of problems. It would take away the built-in homefield advantage for the Metroplex schools. Houston-, Golden Triangle- and Dallas-area schools would play each other in San Antonio. West and East Texas schools would still play each other in Dallas. Some of those small school games would probably be played in Houston. It would ensure no appearance of bias on the part of the refs. It would likely allow for better scheduling because games could be played simultaneously. (It’s unfair to the smaller schools that they have to play games on Tuesdays and Wednesday nights, in my opinion.) The problem would be the cost, which I doubt the UIL could afford. -
Whether high school or college, this game is supposed to teach the players about life. How to grow up and be men. That ain’t it.
-
If the SOC program is at a point where the players care more about showy Instagram clout than respecting their opponents, it explains a lot about their poor showing, and they deserved to lose. If a player did that at Alabama, Saban would run him until his legs fell off, and half the fan base would rightly laud the decision.
-
So you’re telling me they did it specifically to disrespect their opponents? That makes it so much more acceptable. Whether the deception is intentional or not (I suspect it is) doesn’t change the effect. My opinion is unchanged.
-
On principle, I don’t think it’s right. It doesn’t just cover up holding. It can also disguise pass interference, horse collars and possibly face mask penalties or others I’m not thinking of. There are potential safety issues. At a minimum, doing so evinces a clear intent to obfuscate illegal activity. I think it should be illegal. In fact, I would support a rule requiring the home team to wear black gloves, if any, and the visiting team to wear white gloves, if any. Problem solved. Having said that, if there isn’t going to be a rule against the practice, fair’s fair.

Yes, I’m absolutely certain there were no members of that crew connected to Dallas ISD in any way. -

There’s an underclassman RB who got some playing time during the blowouts over Galena Park and Leander Rouse that looks very promising. -

Nothing in football or life is guaranteed. That being said, I think PN-G has the best chance to go to state of any team that will or may be in 5ADII Region 3 during the 2024 season. History repeating itself has been a running theme for the Indians the last two seasons. I might point out that, with the exception of 1999, whenever the Indians have gone to state, they’ve made multiple trips over a short period of time. In particular, this season saw the Indians’ second consecutive title game appearance. The only other time in PN-G history the Indians have made consecutive championship appearances, they went to three title games in a row. All that’s to say, I like our odds. 😎 -

Personally, I couldn't be happier Shea ran in the go-ahead touchdown in the championship game. If anyone deserved that honor, it was him.
