"Always be faithful, until your getting beat like a drum...."
At least you know our fight song well enough to satirize it. The only non-Nederland fans who know your fight song are the college fans you stole it from. ;D
Funny that most NERDS end up being the bosses... Steve Jobs, Bill Gates to name a few...
Good thing y'all do PN-G nerd day, then. ;D

MCM is not just Friday Night. My lil Indian went to school dressed like a Hippie Day 1: Twin Day Day 2: Neon/Hippie Day Day 3: Old People Day (Nothing but respect for our Senior Citizens) Day 4: Nederland Nerd Day Day 5: Spirit Day-Wear Your Purple Thats just one of the schools. I know Nederland has a week of festivities..Do share!
why is ok to insult the hippies and the nerds but you feel like you owe the old people an apology? ;)
It's not ok to insult nerds. Just Nederland nerds. ;D And it's ok to insult hippies but not senior citizens because the elderly actually did something for this country. ;D
Finding out real Cherokee Indians didn't wear feathers... see link below you all need to change your mascots clothing... [Hidden Content]
Actually, they did wear feathered turbans, but they did not wear the feathered headdresses that we see in plains tribes (think Sioux and Cheyenne). In any case, we actually chose the team name 'Indians' back in 1925 because of the pre-columbian presence of the Attakapa and Karankawa tribes in the area, not necessarily because of the Cherokee; that affiliations wasn't conceived until 32 years later when the fight song was arranged. But none of that stopped the Cherokee tribe from adopting PN-G in 1980. Nor did it stop the Texas State History Museum from putting our mascot's uniform and one of our drum majorette headdresses on display. ;) -

No offense, but to be totally honest, if that's what you think, you need to stick to talking about Nederland because you obviously have no idea what you're talking about when it comes to PN-G. I have immense respect for Matt Burnett and the Burnett family for the many things they've done for the PN-G community, but it was time for a change. Anyone even relatively close to the program knew that.
It may have been Burnetts players but it wasn't his offense. Who could forget run left, run right, run up the middle, and punt.
It was run, run, pass, punt. Get it right! ;D People are right in the sense that most of our starters on the 10-0 2009 team were coached by Burnett in 2008, but they tend to forget that those same kids went 3-6 under Burnett. Their contention basically makes our point. -
Finding out the heritage of their Indian mascot can be traced back to the Village People and YMCA late nights!! just saying.......
I don't know what you're talking about. The only PN-G affiliation with the YMCA I know about is when the entire PN-G crowd started dancing to the song before the LC-M game. ;D By the way, am I the only one who thinks it's ironic that the school with the smallest jumbotron in the district does the best job with it during all the pre-game festivities? LC-M has some fun with it. -

We got the best window units money can buy!!!! lol,,,,,,,
And a doghouse with window units is a pretty darn fancy one if you ask me. ;D
Last year Nederland went undefeated and went 3 rounds deep...while PN-G was knocked out in 1st round....yet you barely made it out of the Reservation with your 3 point win....You may have more talent this year...but we wont ever be out-coached.
That was also a game we led at halftime. It just goes to show that when it comes to Mid-County Madness, anything is possible. -
It is comical how Port Neches can dish it out but when they are having a not so good year they tend to wear their feeling on their shoulders. Seriously PN-G bamakid, biaplayer, CAL2TEX, etc. shake it off it will be ok and if you all promise to quit crying like little babies we may just pat your team on the back friday night for a good game!
??? "Dish it out but can't take it" is a straw man's argument that says more about the guy making it than anyone else. Any jabs given or taken in this thread are meant in good fun. Relax.
We don't the pollution is comming from Port Arthur and Port Neches
Yeah, and so did Kelvin Smith and Troy Benjamin - arguably two of Nederland's best athletes across all sports in recent years. ;D

Well, I guess if I lived in Nederland, I'd age quickly too. ;D
If you live in SETX that good ole refinery air really gets to you
But I thought Nederland didn't have refineries.... ;D

You know bulldogbacker, I've got to hand it to you. For the third time this week, you've really shown off that Nederland creativity. Your community must be so proud - you're like a bulldog smoking baby. ::)
He sure had time for it 4 years ago when LaMarque came a callin'. ;D
I didn't say he was an idiot. Plus, that really did him wrong didn't it. Man the community kicked him to the curb for that one... seriously, the guy is a straight up winner, a straight shooter, and you don't stay in one place this long without being at the top of everything that makes a great AD. Either way, when Neumann leaves, he's been grooming his replacement in my opinion, we won't skip a beat.
I never said Nederland mistreated him - y'all ponied up the money. But Neumann, in addition to being a winner, is a smart guy. I think he knows what his interests are, where they'll take him and when they'll take him there and none of us know when that's going to be. All I did was ask how old the guy is. As for who replaces him, I have no idea. How old is that DC smitty hates so much? ;D
I don't think Coach Neumann or Coach Faircloth coach for the money and if you are enjoying work why not keep working.
No, they didn't go into coaching for the money, just like teachers don't go into teaching for the money. But there does come a point where teachers start wondering if it's worth it to stick around, and a lot of the time pensions factor into that. I would imagine that's an even bigger decision for coaches; physically, that is the more demanding of the two jobs.
