I know... Ok, I guess I will say it, I have current freshman that was on that CO team that lives with me.
Well in that case, good luck to him on Thursday. 8)

If we erase those, we erase some of our own best seasons (1999, 2003, 2007, 2009 and 2010 come to mind). Besides, it'll take at least 15 more for Nederland to catch up to us in MCM, and Neumann has to retire some time. ;D
You can always hope :)
How old is Neumann, anyways? He's got to be in the mid to late 50s.
Don't know, but  if he's like Hooks, he might coach into his 70s.
Depends. Once you get past the 40 year mark in Texas public education, it's costing you money to stay on payroll because of the way the retirement system is structured. If he sticks around, it'll solely be for the love of the game.
Not true.  They take your best three year average.  My mother has passed the 40 year mark and is still going strong.
Yes, and they give you 2.3% of that average for every year you work. But there comes a point where the retirement salary exceeds the active salary minus payroll taxes (it's either the 40 year mark or the 41). So in that sense, you actually take a pay raise by retiring, which conversely means you're losing money by not retiring after that point.

They haven't had a shut-out against PN-G since 1988. (seen some predicting one this year---good luck with that...Ned has only shut PN-G out 10 times since 1925...on the other hand they have went home empty handed 21 times) 2. Their longest winning streak in MCM is 3 yrs. (just cant seem to get over that hump and make it 4 in a row.) 3. They let PN-G whip that butt 15 yrs in a row. 4. And last but not least...Nederland may have bragging rights for another year...but we have them overall. Nederland would have to beat us 15 yrs in a row to catch up with PN-Gs winning tradition. The series is 48 PN-G 33 Nederland  7 Tied  (5 years we didnt compete).
I love MCM... BUT one of your "joe Biden" facts are wrong... guess which one?
Nope, try again... another hint, the 4 season the streak was broken
1954 through 1957 - a period which included a state championship appearance and a state title for PN-G and a state championship appearance for Nederland, if I'm not mistaken.
Nederland won their state championship in '57, made it to the finals in '56 and lost 3-0. PNG got a trophy in '55, made it to the finals in '54 but lost. Both had similar paths in consecutive years from '54-'57. PNG also got another state championship in '53 before the era of domination by MCM teams, I guess you could include that '53 year along with the years from '54-'57.
I knew about '57, but I was thinking the other Nederland appearances were in '61 and '58 for some reason.
Nope, try again... another hint, the 84 season the streak was broken
Well, don't leave us hanging.
I was waiting for the PNG faithful to answer. 1984 season the dogs snapped a 20 year losing streak (not 15, I hate to add 5 years). He might have been thinking a shorter streak because there was a game a few years before that the refs called winning TD catch and the ball skipped about 5 yards and the dogs lost on that call. I think you were there 04
It's 15 if you only count PN-G wins. Counting a couple ties in the '60s, PN-G technically didn't lose a game for 19 straight seasons.

In 2000, the year after our last state championship run, an impressive Nederland team suffered a heartbreaking 7-6 loss in the state semi-final to a Bay City team that won the championship that year with ease. That qualifies as a big game. But, it wasn't in front of a record-setting crowd. ;D
You know why Ned fans keep bringing this up?  Because they know it will get a rise out of you and the PNG people.    Why?  Because when the scoreboard doesn't end up going your way you can at least say " we have an attendance record".  The other question is what will happen when the record falls? ( and it will).  What will you cling to then?  BTW, Ned was in the semi-finals in 2001,  PNG was watching them in the playoffs for the next 3 years after 99.
Ok, so it was 2001. Sorry, I never saw much reason to pay attention to Nederland's history - not much there beyond the last fifteen years or so. ;D Oh wait, I forgot about Nederland's only state championship appearance back in the '60s. ;D Still, the point stands. I'm surprised you would take issue with that statement. I was trying to give Nederland its credit where it was due. Really? That's your response? I have to admit, I kind of expected better. If I can't prove a point without polling, neither can you. You just struck out your own point. And in any case, you still haven't responded to the fact that, if your argument was true (and I really don't think it is; you'll find some fans from other schools, but a few thousand at most), you're just crediting PN-G for being able to attract fans from across district lines.
And you made mine.  Your implication that the majority of the fans are wearing purple implied that they are PNG fans, not fans from other teams.  Not to mention the fans from the opposing team.  Also, if its a state championship game, there are no other games to attend, so people will come to see the last game.  Like you said without a poll, you can't prove that they are PNG fans.  So why keep defending it ?
... and you can't prove that they're not without a poll. At least I have empirical evidence; you have no evidence of any kind. Answer me this: have you ever attended a PN-G game wearing purple? Has any Nederland fan? I think most would say the color purple would burn their skin and show up in black and gold, if they show up at all. I know the only Nederland fans I know that have ever come to our playoff games weren't wearing purple. And likewise, I've attended Nederland, WO-S and Vidor games wearing purple.
Now with Plano, you might have an argument. There's varying information out there about this. I've seen fans say that PN-G had 35,000+ of those fans and there have been news articles scanned in on other sites that report similar numbers, which means Plano would have brought around 15,000. With Stephenville however, you wouldn't. I remember that crowd and their stupid little propane tanks with ball bearings in them. They had at most 5,000 of the 39,102 fans in attendance. PN-G's crowd dwarfed them.
 22.
Tell you what, next time you get to the playoffs in the 3rd or 4th round, take a poll of everybody in the stadium and let me know if they are actually from PNG or from another town and just wanted to take in a playoff game. :)
 23.
I simply stated that PNG has mostly great fans and that even a loyal following such as PNG has fair weather fans in the group.  My bad on starting the record attendance discussion, it was meant in jest, but there are a lot of folks who aren't able to Jest.
There's no offense taken here, and none intended towards you (or anyone else, for that matter). I agree with your statement; PN-G, just like every other fan base, is going to find out who's a fairweather fan and who's not during bad years. But bigdog is saying PN-G fans keep bringing this up like it's the only thing we have to tout. My only point in relation to you was that it wasn't a PN-G fan who brought it up.
 24.
LOL.  You might need to get a needle for your head  and some of your PNG friends.  I guess the PNG people have to cling to something, since they will be sitting home this year.  Its funny how they have to keep bringing up a attendance record that happened over 30 years ago, and act like it was all because of PNG and not because other people in the area want to watch high school playoff games.  I see people from other schools all the time at Nederland playoff games , and I am sure that Ned fans attend other games as well.
Fact-checking seems to be pretty popular these days, so let's do a little here. First of all, the subject of this thread is PN-G fan attendance. This thread was not started by a PN-G fan. It was started by a Nederland fan. See quote below:
We all know the theory of PNG's fans being the most loyal and that they never leave early has been debunked after we saw the mass exodus in MCM last year when Nederland stuffed the 4th and 1 attempt. When will it happen this year?  ;)
Second, PN-G's attendance records - of which there are many - were not brought up by a PN-G fan. In fact, the subject of attendance records in particular was brought up in the second post of this thread by a different Nederland fan. See quote below:
This didn't get debunked just last year.  pNG has a lot of people in the stands... a good portion are loyal, but they are as fair weather or more than everyone else.  In this thread they will point to the state attendance record, and try to shut you up.
Third, no PN-G fan here ever said that these records were set by PN-G fans alone. However, you, in raising this point, need to be aware that you're only hurting your own case; if these records totaling well over 30,000 fans indicate a strong Southeast Texas following in addition to the strong following PN-G has on its own, that says a heck of a lot about PN-G's ability to bring not only tens of thousands of its own fans, but also tens of thousands of other schools' fans - more, even, then every other Southeast Texas school besides Nederland bring to their own games. Fourth, PN-G's last major attendance record was not set 30+ years ago. It was set just 13 years ago, during the memorable 1999 season. And fifth, if what you say is true and some significant portion of PN-G's substantial fan following during deep playoff years is comprised of Southeast Texas fans from other schools, why is it that in every case, the PN-G crowd is overwhelmingly purple? Generally speaking, when fans of various schools attend a game and sit with the fan base of a school different than their own, they do not wear that school's colors, but rather their own school's colors. Given this observation, the only way your argument could be true in any significant fashion is if the entire Dayton fanbase has a thing for attending PN-G playoff games, and even then the PN-G crowd would be overwhelmingly comprised of PN-G fans and alumni. So, you were saying? ;)
 25.
Yeah, and all of the were from PNG, LOL.
Never said that. But be aware, that's a double-edged sword. It says a lot when PN-G not only attracts upwards of 20,000 of its own fans for deep playoff games, but also typically more fans from other SETX schools than those schools have at their own games. ;)
