2. TD Indians; 34-25 Port Neches-Groves 5:33 4th Smith keeps it and rolls right across the goal line.
 3. Announcer just said the Rock-A-Noos just won. Still undefeated in district. Scalp 'em, Noos.
Lets just check the history of the Marching contest in the region over the past say 5 years and Lets also check the results of NAMMB (national association of military marching bands) Wanna help me out bamakid?
Vidor has performed better than any band in the area at the Area F Marching Competition (not Region X; bands are only given division ratings there and are not ranked against each other) the last two competition years. They also put on what is arguably the best homecoming show in the state. Although Nederland does put on a show with some awesome visual effects and really probably has the better concert band, when it comes to marching, Vidor is superior in my opinion. Now when it comes to NAMMB, I really can't say much because I don't pay much attention to military band competitions and PN-G isn't a military band. I have a friend who was in the Nederland band a few years ago that said Nederland left that competition on bad terms (I have no idea what the issue was or even if that's true). However, Nederland won that competition several years consecutively when still attending.

Sincerely, Jean Laffite
Should have sent this one to the editor first...PN-G will be at home this week. Lumberton coming to us. So dont unload the wheelchairs.
Don't worry. We still won't need much room on the field and the game will be over early. ;D
 8.
The problem with moving games is the groups that have the concessions. If you play at Lamar, they get all the proceeds from the sale not the groups like PTA that give out scholarships. With a limited number of home games most are not going to give that much up.
Bingo. And having participated in several non-football extracurricular activities, that money helps significantly. Best thing to do is expand the high school stadiums, and right now I don't think any local districts are in a position to do that.
 9.
My heart says Vidor but my head says Nederland. Both are high quality programs and teams. I voted Nederland
I'm kind of in the same position. My instincts say Vidor, but my head is saying Nederland. I think it will all come down to this week's game. I picked Nederland to win, but if for no other reason than that I'd like to see Vidor make some history this year, I'm hoping the Pirates prove me wrong.

 11. Wasn't there a game that went through 12 overtimes and ended with a score of 89-85 or something like that a few years ago? I want to say it was Nacogdoches or maybe Jacksonville.
 12.

My mother graduated from Vidor in 1944, the band director in 1941 purchased purple and gold uniforms for the band. In the late 40's or early 50's a new band director came in and changed the colors to black and gold. What year was Nederland established?
I believe Nederland started playing football officially in 1927. A couple of years later PN started playing and then a few more years and they became PNG and thus the start of MCM.
This has always been a point of confusion. I always hear Nederland folks saying they started playing football in 1927. PN-G's records indicate that the then-Port Neches Indians started playing football in 1925 and played Nederland four times altogether in 1925 and 1926 (Nederland won the first game in 1925 and then Port Neches won the next three). I also know from reading Dr. Ford's book that the student body picked the school colors and the team name in 1925. Anyone with a little more information have an explanation?
 13.

Honestly since i haven't ever had to try and win against the pirates at the boneyard i would have to say png stadium. For some reason that stadium just gives us bad luck.
I would have to agree with that!!  The Reservation is always a hard place to get a win at.  I think that little Indian puts a voodoo spell on the field when he dances across it before the game and during halftime.
There's a reason our seasons don't go well when we do something to the stadium. The first time the stadium was renovated in the early '80s, we suffered a decade-long playoff drought. Then when we replaced the old stadium in 2008, we went 3-6 and didn't win a single game in the new stadium in its first season of operation. Did I mention we replaced our artificial turf field over the summer? Also, coaching changes typically have the opposite effect for some reason. See the early seasons of Lew Ford, Doug Ethridge, Danny Malone, Matt Burnett and Brandon Faircloth.
 14. Maybe it's just because it's MCM, but Nederland has always been a hard place for PN-G to play. Outside of that, probably Vidor, which also holds the record for the hardest stadium to get in and out of. We've played them for their homecoming several times and I swear 105 in Vidor is a parking lot everywhere from 1442 to the Jasper County line before and after that game. They really come out of the woodwork for homecoming (not surprising because they put on an awesome show). My senior year, our bus convoy took an hour and fifteen minutes to get from the interstate off-ramp to the stadium, and that was with a police escort calling traffic to the side of the road. We weren't in the stands until about the second quarter. One of the hardest places to play from the perspective of someone in the stands is probably Livingston. Long drive, small stands, overly excited announcer, lots of mosquitoes and the concessions and bathrooms are on the other side of the field, which means you have to walk on the uneven gravel track to get there. It really sucks in the rain. Nice people though.
 15.

Is Weak brook even going to win a game this year?
We already did win a game dummy. It's funny you call us Weak Brook when you guys were the first to run away when bog bad Stump was in town. This our weakest team since 2004 and we would still stomp the Injuns this year. Tell Chief Faircloth to stop being scared and schedule a game so we can let the talking get done on the field.
The first to run away? That doesn't even make sense. PN-G hasn't been in a district with West Brook since we were 5A in the '90s. Nobody ran away from anything, PN-G just dropped down a classification as numbers changed. And what does this thread have to do with West Brook anyways?

Ya think they would give us any more points than they have too??
What PN-G local paper are you referring to? The only PN-G paper I know of went out of business last year.
Try Port Author or where ever you get your local news "smoke signals I suppose"
Calm down, bud. I was just asking a question. It was reported over the radio that Summer Creek won this game 53-14, and that's where the score in this thread came from.
