  1. I’ve got some ideas. Depends on who we would be playing. Gotta get through this week first, though.
  2. One thing I appreciate about Huntsville: like PN-G, this is a program with a lot of history. That’s kind of been my thing lately. 😎
  3. PN-G did everything it needed to do to stifle the SOC offense in the first half. SOC changed the gameplan in the second half and started throwing the ball around a lot more. Remember, up to that point in the season, SOC fielded a rush-heavy offense that hadn't been forced into the passing game very often. Any time PN-G tried to adjust to SOC's newfound passing game, SOC would go right back to running the ball. It was good coaching by SOC to keep the PN-G defense off balance and it worked. With the amount of talent SOC brought to the table, every coach in the state would be hard-pressed to find a way to make fourth quarter adjustments for that move.
  4. Clock control is the cornerstone of the Joseph-era PN-G offense. Running on every first down is a big part of that. And it’s especially emphasized in the second half if we get up big on the other team, as we were at halftime against Lake Creek. I’d say it’s working pretty well for us.
  5. Classy letter. Always proud to see a community rally around the kids, and prouder to see the coaches appreciate it.
  6. PN-G received the link this evening and will post all of the information tomorrow morning.
  7. Thursday would actually work better for my schedule. (There’s a hint in there for the #txlege folks I know are watching this site. 😉)
  8. What’s the story there? I keep hearing references but I don’t know the background.
  9. Seriously? He’s a sophomore QB who stepped into the role after a star senior with D1 offers was hurt in the third game of the season, and he’s managed to guide his team through three rounds of the playoffs and counting. He has a strong arm, strong numbers and a great completion rate. That’s why. Vote!
  10. [Hidden Content] At time of posting, PN-G’s Connor Bailey is in third place. Barbers Hill’s Kody Fuentes is also a candidate.
  11. Nothing changes except the crowds start to swell in size and the atmosphere gets even more intense. To the posters out there doubting the impact the Indian Band, the Indianettes, the Indian Faithful, and the other spirit groups have on the field, just ask the players and the coaches. Better yet, ask the other side of the field. They’ll all tell you. See y’all tomorrow night. Scalp ‘em.
  12. If PN-G were unranked, yes. But undefeated #1 losing a close game to one loss #3 in the third round is hardly an embarrassment, in my view. An embarrassment in this situation is a blowout loss either way.
  13. Ordinary admonitions about respecting opponents, not being overconfident and preparing accordingly aside, I agree with the assessments about Montgomery Lake Creek making themselves look more unbeatable than they really are by running up the score against subpar competition. That being said, “embarrass” is a strong word. Will we expose them? I think so. Will we embarrass them? I’m doubtful. I feel confident picking the Indians by one possession, but no more than two.
  14. The traffic on the website for this week’s playoff game during the first hour after sales opened yesterday apparently crashed the system for a few minutes. The online vendors these schools use just aren’t accustomed to this level of community support.
  15. And that, my friends, is what sets PN-G apart from the rest.
  16. I’ve said for years that Lamar would bring a lot of local fans out on Saturdays to see their hometown kids play. And there’s a ton of local talent that would play well in the FCS but hardly ever gets a look outside of the area. Two birds, one stone, but apparently no interest.
  17. I get what you’re saying. I also get that Lamar is never going to develop local support unless it starts building local relationships. This is a good way to do that.
  18. Is there a reason? Seems like it would help them recruit local talent.
  19. I have it from a reliable source that PN-G tried to secure Provost-Umphrey for the playoff game against Lake Creek this week but was refused. Lamar doesn’t have a game next Saturday, so I am not understanding why. Any insights?
  20. Best guess is that it has something to do with the band and Indianettes getting back to Bush from New York at 11 AM that morning. Sucks for me because my flight lands at 3:45 PM. 😒
  21. Got a screenshot of an email from Katy ISD staff earlier today indicating that 80% of the PN-G tickets have already been sold. That puts the crowd on our side somewhere between 4,500 and 4,800, depending on whether the band and Indianettes were accounted for in that total. And we're still 28 hours from kickoff.
