Standing room for Beamont team's fans, not MC fans.  8) ;) :D Overall talent across the board.  Central suffered with injury issues.  Even though we were horrible in the season, we played Ozen to 1 score loss (Ozen scored with less than 5 minutes left for the go ahead score).    Central is always loaded with talent and this year's Ozen team will be probably the most athletic team in Southeast Texas.
No SRO for MC fans? Even though every one of those tickets would sell? Plus you'd sell two more turkey legs for every person? Man, between this and the Walker thing, y'all just have really bad business sense. ;) ;D There's no doubt that they're loaded with talent and it could be the most competitive game played all year. I'm just saying, Mid-County Madness is always a nail-biter and the Mid-County fans are always going to set the season attendance record with that game. Even if the "Soul Bowl" sells out plus a thousand SRO tickets on each side, Indian Stadium would still hold more people.
 5.

Why is everybody forgetting about the Central vs. Ozen Game aka "The Soul Bowl". And i'm pretty sure it will have twice the fans as any of those other games. Just sayin!!!!
No offense, but Mid-County Madness will probably have 3,000+ more fans than the "Soul Bowl." Even if your game sells out, the Butch Bowl only holds ~10,000 fans. MCM will definitely sell out and Indian Stadium seats 13,000. Not to mention that PN-G and Nederland probably have the two largest fanbases in the area (PN-G's is one of the largest in the state). Ozen and Central will play a great game, no doubt. But to say that it will out-sell MCM is reaching.
2 things here.  1. The butch holds more rans than it's capacity.  There is a lot of standing room.  2. The list is 'top games', not highest attendence.  Personally, I would prefer the game that shows better football vs. people in attendence.  More people in the stands don't necessarily make it the better game to attend.  PS.  The Central/Ozen halftime is unlike any other.  ;) 8)
Ok. What's the SRO capacity? And are you sure they can sell SRO? PN-G's played more than one sold out game at the Butch and I have yet to see an SRO area. A lot of schools (PN-G and Nederland among them) that used to sell SRO tickets stopped thanks to tighter fire ordinances. I don't know if it will be a more competitive game or not. After the way Central played last year, that's really hard to say. And Ozen really didn't come into its prime until late in the season (remember, they barely made the playoffs), so we don't know that they'll be playing to their full potential either. Granted, it's a rivalry game and both teams have a lot of talent, but talent doesn't always mean a competitive game (just ask LSU ;D) and the Orange Bowl (LC-M vs. WO-S) is technically a rivalry game as well.
Well if some old dude sending me love notes and digging holes in my back yard causes me to dance around like the village people, NO thank you.  I'd rather sit on my porch at 60 yrs old and bark like a DOG when a high school kid scores a TD.  I mean really, where your common sense in all this?  ;)
I guess you're qualified to make that decision after all the barking and Cherokee you've heard after all the touchdowns BH has given up to the MC teams. Besides, you've had a lot of time to think about it. It's not like you've been going to many playoff games. ;) ;D My Spanish has always sucked, but I guess y'all's new name is: Las Aguilas de la Cuesta Hormiga

PM me.
It's true. When I picked up season tickets for my parents before leaving town, Vidor was the first game to sell out. The ticket lady said they had requested more and to come back a few days later. When I went back, she said that Vidor had refused to send more than the original 500. All other tickets would not be sent until the week of the game.
Oh. I see. 500 isn't all that they are selling but they are holding the rest till the week of the game. Okay. I gotcha.
Yes. However, in past years, they sent more than 500. I don't know why this changed for this season.
I honestly have no idea but i'm sure they have a good reason, especially considering who we are playing for homecoming lol.
Probably. I just can't figure out what it is. This the third time that since 2007 we've played Vidor for their homecoming and as far as I know, this is the first time they've sent so few tickets for purchase before the season starts.

Funny thing is, its never us...PNG envy much? LOL Now, back to what i said originally, I agree this WONT HAPPEN, but in this hypothetical thread of what ifs and Vidorians trying to cross the river from Orange County to Jefferson County I thought it would be a fun and different approach to renaming teams.
Some people, right? It does put an interesting spin on things. If "Indians" as a team name was absolutely out of the question, I think the Tri-City Tigers or Tri-City Tornadoes would be pretty cool. But if we went with a tiger for a mascot, I just couldn't support purple and gold as the school colors anymore. ;D Also, if it were Mid-County High instead of Tri-City High, it would be cool to be the Mid-County Marauders.

There's a general admission allotment of 1,000 tickets that will go on sale tomorrow in the field house at 8 AM.
At the field-house window....only 1,000...yep, will be sold out by noon. My only arguably off-topic post in this thread was a response to another PN-G fan that didn't involve you at all. You decided to respond to my post and we carried on a conversation. Granted, it went off on a tangent from the original thread topic, but you're the one who chose to pursue that topic and now you're the one who's deciding to continue it by trying (and really failing) to make insults. I don't see why you're making such a big deal out of nothing.

I know my town's history. Most PN-G kids learn about the Indian presence in the area at some point in elementary school and we always get the story about how that effected the decision over the team name. I'm not saying Vidor doesn't have Indian ruins. All I'm saying is that it's something most of the PN-G folks take very seriously, mostly because a lot of the folks down here playing in the park around the old mounds and that we've been presented with a very special honor only two other Texas high schools have received.
PNG sucks
Good comeback. ::)

Tri-City ISD School: Tri-City High School Mascot: Cherokee Colors: Black & Purple & Silver Gotta keep the Indian theme for the ability to keep Cherokee. I mean let's be realistic anyway, Nederland folks know Cherokee is by far a better fight song. School Colors.. Black from Ned, Purple from PNG, Silver as the new color (Silver is a good medium between Gold & white) Can you imagine the teams that could be put together? My guess, the kids wouldn't care a bit once they got used to it. The parents?? Well we know that's another story. Although, I must say there are quite a few parents out there for both sides that one spouse went to the rival school. So that hatred can't run that deep. LOL. Something to think about for sure...
Won't happen. But I will say this much. If it ever did happen (and it won't), I would much rather see purple and gold. Even though I hate any sort of LSU imitation and that would kind of be a slap in the face to Lincoln graduates in the area, I think that looks a lot better than purple and black. I do think we would need to keep the Indian mascot (I know most of the Nederland fans would have a heart attack) because of the official ties to the Cherokee tribe. You don't just give up that kind of unique relationship. Besides, American Indians actually inhabited Mid-County, so it showcases the area's history.
American Indians inhabited all of America not just the middle of Jefferson county and cherokees never got close to this area + our local indians were cannibals and lived mostly in the bessie heights region of modern day vidor > just look at all the pottery up the river in vidor at low tide
I know the Cherokee never got close to this area. I was referring to the Chief of the Cherokee Nation presenting PN-G with his official seal, a certificate proclaiming the high school grounds as an honorary addition to the Cherokee reservation and a letter granting the high school the specific right to use the team name "Indians" in 1980. There were Indian settlements in the Mid-County area, mostly Karankawa and Attakapa. The last excavation of old Indian burial mounds took place in Port Neches Park only about a decade ago. That's considered an integral part of the history of the area and the proximity of their settlements to the old high school was the primary factor in the selection of "Indians" as the then-Port Neches High School football team name in 1925.

 22. It'll pan out. Faircloth will adjust and we'll make the playoffs. If Nederland can do it with all those injuries, we can do it with what we have to work with.

I think with the game atmosphere, coming out of the tunnel with Cherokee blaring...boys will be pumped.
I've been to a few PNG games and Cherokee is blaring no matter what.  It doesn't matter if yall are up 50 or losing by 20 at the half.  Good thing it's a catchy little tune.
;D Short Cherokee is played every time PN-G makes a first down on offense, holds the opposing offense to a fourth down when on defense, after every touchdown, after every turnover and interception, and sometimes just after a big play that didn't necessarily gain anything. Long Cherokee comes at every run-through, during the Marching I (obviously), the end of every quarter, after every PAT attempt and field goal, one or two more times after the game ends and sometimes just when the band feels like it. Also, back in the days when PN-G and WO-S were still in the same district, it was sometimes played just to upset Dan Hooks. ;D
