Ive never known any Ozen fans to hang out on here to just pound on the Nederland fans and football team so no I dont think he is from Ozen. Once again I could be wrong but I doubt it. As for myonecent you have put in you 1 for the day now thanks.
My thoughts exactly. Some close family friends are big Ozen fans and I've never known them (or any other Ozen fans) to be so hard on Nederland. My one reservation is that this guy might be sore over Nederland's last second win against Ozen last year, if he's really from Ozen to begin with. For a new guy, though, he sure seems to know the layout of the board pretty well. Not to mention that his posting style is familiar.
Like you didn't know that already. ;) :D Nederland scrimmages Dayton next week, right? It'll be interesting to see what kind of offensive progress they make in that time.

Faircloth upbeat over PN-G practices
PN-G bamatex replied to AggiesAreWe's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
I've heard this all before. Faircloth's first year here, we weren't even supposed to make the playoffs - it was going to be a "rebuilding" year. Then we stormed through a flawless regular season, rolling over predicted district champion Vidor and making a miracle comeback to beat a vaunted Central team, to lose in the playoffs to the far more talented eventual state finalist by a touchdown. The year after that, we lost four of our first five games by a combined sixteen points and people were saying we'd finish seventh. Then we turned around and went three rounds deep in the playoffs, falling to another more talented team in another highly competitive game that we were predicted to lose by a country mile, all as the last Southeast Texas team standing. If there are two things I've learned in watching Texas high school football, it's that you can never put too much stock in predictions, and you can never count the Indians out. We'll go to the playoffs - there is no doubt in my mind. Will we be the district champions? I wouldn't put it past them, but I don't think so. Will we be district runner-up like we have been the last two years running? The stats sure make it hard to believe. But this PN-G team won't go down without a fight and we will make the playoffs. Count on it. Go Indians. -

Any way you look at it, Nederland's the favorite. I don't think it's possible for a team that went 11-2, won the district championship outright, sported one of the best defenses in the state and returns 16 starters to be overrated. But, if they are overrated, or even just overconfident, I hope the Indians are the ones to prove it. ;D

PN-G vs Silsbee Predictions
PN-G bamatex replied to Indianforever's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
I just saw where Carl Padilla of the Padilla Poll tweeted that he is lining up some games for next season and one of those games has PNG playing Stephenville. If that's the case, who would Silsbee play? I thought these games were 2 year home and home contracts. Would PNG be willing to give up a home game next season and in the process leave Silsbee out to dry looking for an opponent for week 0?
That has to be a mistake. Last I heard, Faircloth was trying to keep the preseason games nearby to cut down on travel costs. Summer Creek was supposedly a stretch. I have no idea how Stephenville would fit into that. -
PN-G vs Silsbee Predictions
PN-G bamatex replied to Indianforever's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads

When is the last time Silsbee beat PNG in football? Like 1992 in the playoffs?
It's not like these two teams have played each other every year for many years, but the last time Silsbee beat PNG was 1994. Silsbee and PNG have played each other a total of 33 times since 1925. PNG leads the all time series 25-8. From 1925-1969 these two played a total of 15 games with PNG winning 12 of those 15. They played every year from 1936-47 except '44, with PNG going 9-2 in those games. These two teams did not play each other for 20 years until 1988 when they were put in the same district. From '88 to present, PNG and Silsbee have played each other 18 times with PNG winning 13, Silsbee 5. These two played every year from '88 to '99, playing each other twice in the same season in the year's '92 and '99. PNG was 9-5 in those 14 games played. These two have only played 4 times since '99 and just twice since Silsbee dropped to 3A in '04. PNG currently has a 10 game win streak over Silsbee.
My PN-G football history is a little fuzzy, but I believe the first game of PN-G (then just PN) football ever played was against Silsbee in 1925. I think PN-G won it, 7-0. -
Just a tidbit of history for you guys, Nederland was doing the lights out at halftime show years before Vidor ever did it. The band marched with flashlights tied to their leg. They stopped perfoming that show when they changed out the lighting system. Man that was way back when I was a kid watching the football games. I always wondered how they didn't burn their fingers when the twirlers used fire batons, ha ha, anyways, I remember also back in the early 80's when Mr. Todd (a Nederland graduate) became head Director in Vidor, he brought a lot of the Nederland look that way in how they marched. Is David Johnson (also a Nederland Graduate) still Directing there? Anyways, just add fireworks and you got a nice show.
Vidor does have fireworks. Are you referring to Donnie Todd? I always thought he was one of the assistant band directors. Great director, nonetheless.
So in other words, you take up three seats on your own? ;D

Vidor's got the best homecoming halftime show around and their fans really come out of the woodwork to see it, but let's be clear about something. PN-G fans will fill up the visitor's side. I'm not saying our crowd will be larger because Vidor's home side is larger than their visitor's side, just like at most stadiums. But the PN-G crowd will line up to get every available ticket, and it's not going to matter if that line's in Vidor or Port Neches.

Vidor playoff run in 2012
Is this a Pirate civil war?
I think "mutiny" is the more appropriate term. -
cant wait for the day they meet in a playoff game.
Then we might play at Lamar, although it would probably take Reliant to make sure everyone had a seat. PN-G already brings massive crowds to late-season playoff games. Playing one against Nederland would probaby bring in tens of thousands of fans for both teams. IH-10 would be jam-packed.
Question: anyone ever thought of moving this game to a neutral site? I mean, I totally understand the whole "home and home" "district game" thingy. I just think that it could possibly benefit both schools if say maybe if they moved just that particular game to stadium. Would be much more roomier th an the visitor side at The Reservation....JMPO though!
And give up holding Mid-County Madness in front of a packed house at the Reservation? Never. There is no experience like that anywhere else in high school football, and holding MCM anywhere other than Indian Stadium and Bulldog Stadium, except for in extreme cases, would take away from the tradition and folklore surrounding the rivalry.
-
I had to stay all night to get tickets to the playoff game against Manvel a few years ago. I was with the second group in line from about 8 PM until tickets went on sale at 7 AM the next morning. If it was that bad for a third-round playoff game, I can't imagine what it's like for MCM. And the worst part was that I didn't even need the tickets. My parents did. I was in the band.

Been getting tickets the last 3 years, then selling them. ;)
you over-charge ::) ;D
Scalp 'em, AAW, Scalp 'em! ;D
-
The Nederland side very well may already be close to sold out. Season ticket holders get first crack at the tickets and they typically snatch most of those up every year. Your best bet is to hit up a season ticket holder for one of the teams or try and get GA tickets for the PN-G side since we'll probably have more available for however short a time because of the larger home side. Either way, it's not going to be easy.

You don't get many chances to build a fire around here, and when you do, there's typically plenty of firewood left behind by a hurricane. ;D -

Vidor playoff run in 2012

Not to be confused with " mytwosense " ! **** Disclaimer: All deals are final after deal . The Vidor Fans are not liable for any embarrassment brought to your team or community by the afore mentioned "mytwocents"! ***** Offers involving the potential trade of the following fans will NOT be accepted ; ( Brenhamfan , PNGbandkid, raidernaytion or "the smoking baby)
Man, BrenhamFan, the Vidor fans don't even want to consider us. I'm not sure whether to take that as an insult or a compliment. ;D
Ya, can you believe that? Brenham placed a perminant franchise tag on me years ago, so that's out of the question. Why would we want to be traded to a fan base of a far less successful team anyways? I know I'm doing just fine at being a fan of my alma-mater here in icecreamland and the Tribe's fan base is known nationwide. The guys he listed our big parts of their fan bases. Yes, this includes the Smoking Baby and Raidernaytion as well. Our fan bases don't attack other fans of our school, and our knowledge of the game is pretty high as well. Now to answer the thread topic.... Vidor won't get past the second round. They could possibly get Dayton in round 1 and/or get Brenham in round 2. Good luck with that!
Yeah, I guess we're glued to our schools. We're lucky that's not a bad thing in our cases. Speaking of IceCreamLand, some friends and I drove through downtown Brenham to get on 105 from 290 about a week ago on our way back from Austin. Nice place, but I've gotta say, I halfway expected to see ice cream trucks playing the little carnival songs all over town. ;D
