Apparently, they also don't teach respect and class in Angleton, especially if stomping on a pirate flag at practice is condoned by the coaches. As I said earlier, go Pirates.
 2.
Spell it right . I have never even heard of these  backwoods "want a bes"
They must not teach research skills in Angleton. ::)
 3.
and far more more intelligent than you .
Says the guy who can't even spell "Vidor" right. ::) Go Pirates.

We have some messed up priorities in this country, compared to a teacher salary that is way too much.
($6.00 a ticket x 5000 tickets) x 10 games + ($5000 concessions x 10 games) $300,000 + $50,000 = $350,000 per regular season How much again did your history teacher make for the school?
5000 tickets??? Is that when they play PNG??
Nah, it'd be 8,000+. ;D
 5.
Actually, the times that Nederland was bounced in the first round were the anomaly Bamakid.  For over a decade, Nederland took deep playoff runs, winning first round playoff games for what at that time was one of the states longest active streaks at 11.
I know Ned's had it good with Neumann. Just throwing a little jab back at 'em. ;D
 6.
Ned beating Stratford is an upset?
I probably should have clarified that one a little better. I actually didn't have that game originally listed as an upset; I modified the post to add it later. I posted the same thing on Facebook and two points were brought to my attention that convinced me to add it for good measure. First of all, while Nederland had a solid advantage over Houston Stratford going into the game, the game went into double overtime and Ned barely escaped with the win. The surprise there is that Nederland didn't have it in hand early on as I (and I think most people) expected. I guess you could say that, from that perspective, the game's outcome is more surprising than it is upsetting. Second, Nederland didn't get washed out in the first round of the playoffs for the third year in a row. In that sense, every game Ned wins in the playoffs could be considered an upset. ;) ;D I said in a post a while ago that Nederland has the defense to go deep. The question is Nederland's offense. I guess the Stratford game just about proved me right. More points were scored in overtime than in regulation. With that said, I hope Nederland can put it together and get to the Regional Final.
 7. Iowa State beat Oklahoma State Baylor beat Oklahoma USC beat Oregon Ozen beat Brenham Vidor beat Montgomery Nederland beat Houston Stratford Cal may very well pull it out against Stanford (knock on wood) I think Satan needs a thick winter coat.

Port Neches would've been a national park....
Not all of them. There was one in Port Neches Park that was excavated I think in the 80s.
history is sort of a hobby of mine....there may still be another in the area.  However, I would like to have seen those. I understand people use to take the train from Beaumont down there to collect arrowheads, etc. We just didn't know about preserving our heritage in those days.
Same here. Anything from the Civil War on is in my purview. Port Neches was the only camp site for the Indians in Jefferson County. We were taught in elementary school about the Attakapa and Karankawa tribes that lived there, and that's where I remember the story about the mound excavation from.
That lil' mound ya'll call a town has a lot of history to it.
Yes it does, and Block did a great job of cataloging a lot of it.

 10. I'm going to try to make it. We're almost definitely going to be at the Vidor game.

 12. "The Montgomery football team is right where it wants to be." Maybe if they want to be on the basketball court. ;D
 13. You know, I was conflicted in the Pick 'ems this week. My gut kept telling me Vidor would win but my head said there was no way. Now that Vidor's won, my gut's still saying Vidor and my head has fallen silent. Vidor has never been a team that has just sat down and quit, and that's never been more true than this year. After the season Vidor has had, I hope you guys go and win it all. And if you keep playing like you are, you just might have a shot. Scalp 'em, Roll Tide and Go Pirates.
It's also a lot easier, which is part of the reason military bands rarely get past Area.
It's the name of the PNG volleyball team and only the Senior players get told what it means and are sworn to secrecy.  I'm convinced that it doesn't mean anything and it's all a big conspiracy to make people wonder.  :D
How long has this been going on?
Early 70's when Coach Comeaux first started [Hidden Content] When it comes to attitude the team has its own. The term “Rock-a-Noos” is without a doubt one of the biggest mysteries but also without a doubt, a rallying cry and a belief that only those who have played volleyball at PN-G truly understand. “Rock-a-Noos has a meaning and a spirit all its own,” said Comeaux. “I believe each year the returning players want to keep that meaning and tradition alive. It all goes along with the Indian spirit at PN-G; what it means to compete as an Indian with confidence and you get that special feeling when competing with your teammates. “It’s all about teamwork.”
The Rock-A-Noos are serious about keeping the meaning of the word secret. They won't budge.

In fact people that are not used to drinking can be intoxicated as a much lower level.
tvc, in your opinion, is that enough for him to pass out on his way home?
No. I think at such a level he might be unsteady on his feet and have poor judgment. It is enough to make you drowsy according to your level of tolerance.
That's what I think, too. The only reasonable explanation short of foul play I can think of is that he was wobbly, fell when crossing the tracks, hit his head and knocked himself out. If so, that's a very unfortunate (albeit seemingly unlikely) series of events. In any case, it's a tragic event and I don't think anyone knows enough to say either way.
Wow, I never thought I'd see Occam's brought up on setxsports lol...I work with a guy from Vidor that says there are railroad tracks that stretch across the city that you can walk out and chances of someone falling on them are decent. I dont really know the layout of Vidor...any truth to that?
The tracks run just to the south of Vidor proper. They cross 105 and parallel Railroad. They're maybe a mile south of the interstate and eventually turn north to cross under it.
