The only reasonable explanation short of foul play I can think of is that he was wobbly, fell when crossing the tracks, hit his head and knocked himself out. If so, that's a very unfortunate (albeit seemingly unlikely) series of events. In any case, it's a tragic event and I don't think anyone knows enough to say either way. Congratulations, Pirates! This has been a historical year for 20-4A. Nederland won its first outright district title since 1966 and Vidor brought home its first playoff win since 1964. A lot of history has been made this year, and I think more will be made before it's all said and done.

PN-G, Nederland and Vidor fans will show up in sizable numbers, especially in the playoffs. We played at Stallworth three times when I was in high school. All three times - playoff games against Lamar Consolidated, Barbers Hill and Manvel - PN-G easily outnumbered the other school. I can still remember packing the Astrodome for the 1999 state championship. 34,000 fans sat on our side of the stadium for that game.

There was also a video they used at MCM in '09 that featured a keyboard version of Cherokee and the video that went with it was perfect. The song and the video just went together, and it seemed to pump everyone up.

[/quote] One of my favorite stories from high school was PN-G packing the stands at our first basketball playoff game in 22 years and breaking out into Cherokee in the middle of the game. We lost a close one to Crosby, but that had to be a sight to see. I just wish I could have been there.
