Do you know how many teams have hit that mark so far? In other words, PN-G was the 60th team in Texas to get there; what place is Nederland? Congratulations.

[/quote] It's true. The national record for attendance at a high school football game is held by PN-G and was set at the 1977 4A state championship game. It still stands today at 49,953 fans. Eyewitness accounts and news articles from the time that I've seen put about 38,000 fans on the PN-G side of Texas Stadium and about 12,000 on the Plano side. When we last went to the state championship in 1999, PN-G set the record for high school football attendance in that stadium at 39,000, with ~34,000 sitting on the PN-G side (a first grade bamakid being one of them). When I'm not on a cell phone, I'll see if I can dig up articles and pictures from the games that were scanned in elsewhere. In the meantime, tell your Chicago friends to look up the Texas Bob high school football stadium database. It has pictures of and information about every high school stadium in the state, including the capacity of each one.

[/quote] Well, if you really want to get down into it, the season stats can be more misleading than the district stats because the district stats look at a team's performance against the same set of teams as the other teams in its district. With that said, all stats can be misleading because of the changes that take place on each team during the course of a season and the way those changes affect each team (Livingston losing Bull Mayes, for example). Those changes in a team's performance in turn affect how other teams perform against it.

[/quote] Have to disagree with ya'll on this one. We put up nearly 500 yards of offense on Livingston last night...and it was a playoff game for them. We can throw the ball if we have to; Montana has a good arm and Austin Powell can really throw it too. He was the one who brought us back against ya'll. I think that in Jeff's scheme, we play ball control on offense taking time off the clock and good defense, those are the keys to our victories. We just can't turn the ball over like we did against ya'll. [/quote] Don't use Livingston as a measuring stick. Livingston's a good team, but it's an offensive team, not a defensive team. You will meet much faster, much more experienced defenses in the playoffs that will think of a one-dimensional offense as a break. Vidor has the ability to make some noise in the playoffs, but the Pirates will have to mix it up to do it.
