what was your JVs record last year

Freshman and JV games take place during band practice.
Curious.... how do you know that??
I was going to ask that question too. How do you know of JV records across the state?
It was determined by a poster on the PN-G site. He started by looking at all of the teams that were undefeated at the end of the regular season, and then looked at their JV teams. If I remember correctly, the only school that came close was Waxahachie, with a JV team whose record was 9-1. I don't have a link at the moment, but I've messaged the site owner to see where the thread is and will post a link later. -
I just dont understand why all of a sudden when you get a new young hot shot coach in there everybody is jumping on the bandwagon?? The support or spirit was down the last years in the Burnet era who IMO is the face of the PNG Athletic Program.
The answer to your question is simple: for the first time in a quite a while, everyone in the PN-G community feels like they have something to be proud of, and I'm not just talking about football. I started a thread on the PN-G site a little while ago that outlined the accomplishments of Port Neches-Groves High School and its various amenities over the course of the 2009-2010 school year. This list of accolades was long at the time, and now it's even longer. Our band competed at the Area F Marching Competition, our football team went undefeated through the first round of the playoffs, our volleyball team went to the playoffs, our basketball team had its first winning season in several years, our baseball team is tied for the second place slot in our league, both of our soccer teams took the district titles and went to the third round of the playoffs, our high school is a recognized school in a recognized district, our UIL Academics team recently took its 10th consecutive district sweepstakes award (the equivalent of a district title) - and this is just what I could think of and type in the space of a few minutes (trust me, there's more). These are great times for PN-G. We're performing well on every front. The Indian Nation realizes that and is getting excited. The Indians are on the warpath, and as good as this year is, I can't shake the feeling that next year is going to be even better.
Will it have "garage" type doors for circulation? Summer's going to be a beast in there if not. Sounds first class overall. Congrats PNG. Doing things the right way!
I was told that it would have large doors and large fans for cooling during the summer, but none of that seems to be mentioned in the excerpt from the agenda above.
Since D3zii seems to be under the weather ( :D :D ), I will quickly come in and say... Ain't gonna happen. We let you escape last year... But all seriously, here are my picks. 1. Central - D. Heard will be offensive player of the year next year 2. PN-G - What Faircloth have done with the Indians last year was NOT a one hit wonder. Just watch and see. 3. Nederland - If you want to win, you start Forney on offense, point blank. 4. Ozen - I don't know what was missing last year, but it sure in the heck wasn't athletes 5. Vidor - No question if they can move the ball... Question will be on the defensive side of the ball... 6. LC-M - Crouch, this is not 3a ball here. 7. Livingston - No Quinton Jackson... No Keke Johnson... No playoffs. 8. Lumberton - No offense, but back to your rightful place.
We'll see about the top two positions. Faircloth has seriously ramped up the offseason program. You can expect PN-G to be a faster, more physical team next year. That being said, I still expect the Central game to be a toss-up, and I just don't see 20-4A being ruled by anyone other than PN-G or Central. While I'm at it, how many starters are returning for Central? We've lost Harmon, Dunbar, DeRon and two others, but
What were the records and standings of the JV teams in 20-4A ? Just curious .
I know PN-G's JV team went undefeated. I'm afraid I don't know the other records, though.

I believe the PN-G girls team is playing Brenham Friday, but I don't know where or when. -
Who made the playoffs...boys and girls?

PN-G took the district title in both boys and girls soccer and both teams are advancing to the playoffs. -
Way to go, Indian Soccer!
Tom Halliburton The Port Arthur News BEAUMONT -- Just as it amazingly unfolded in football, Port Neches-Groves authored an identical script in soccer. The Indians remarkably won another double-overtime game, 2-1, Friday night at Zaharias Stadium over Beaumont Central, ending the regular season with the top spot in their district by the narrowest of margins. Coach Don Sandell's Tribe (21-1-3 and 13-1) duplicated the finish of Brandon Faircloth's gridiron Indians. Both needed to beat Central at Zaharias on the final regular-season night. Both needed two overtimes to pull it off. PN-G will play Liberty in the 4A state playoff bidistrict round next weekend. The coaches will meet today to finalize the arrangements. "It took a lot of hard work but it paid off," the fourth-year Indians chief said. "It's very rewarding. I had a feeling back in August that, with the way we worked, we had a chance to be a special team. I'm happy for the seniors." Ninety minutes (eighty regulation and 10 in the first overtime) failed to produce any goal. Then the teams exploded for the three goals during the second 10-minute overtime. If the teams had been tied after two overtimes, Nederland would have been the district champion instead of PN-G. The double OT win enabled PN-G and Nederland to be tied 39-39 in the district's point system. PN-G owned the next tiebreaker by owning a one-goal head-to-head advantage in goal differential. "It was a heck of a game," Central coach Tony Cox said, praising both sides. "PN-G deserves the top spot because they never gave up. I thought that big No. 10 (Greg Flores) was the difference for them." Flores unlocked a 1-1 tie with 6:50 left in the second overtime. The Indians senior chipped in the winner from the mouth of the net after taking a long free kick from fellow senior Elver Uriostegui. A midfield foul against Central enabled Uriostegui to restart play with a free kick. Uriostegui had delivered a similar free kick just 30 seconds into the second overtime. That free kick set up sophomore Edwin Guerrero for the game's first goal. Central responded two minutes later at the 7:30 mark when Servando Vizcaino ripped home a shot from the far right corner of the penalty box. Both teams attempted 13 shots and a sensational perfomance by Jaguars' reserve keeper Sammy Lavador kept rejecting PN-G's bids to take the lead during the middle of the game. "That's how even the game was and you have to give Tony (Cox) credit," Sandell said. "He had them ready to play." PORT NECHES -- Seven seniors played their final regular-season home game on The Reservation Friday night as 38-4A district champion Port Neches-Groves blanked Beaumont Central 9-0. The Lady Indians completed the regular campaign at 19-5 and a perfect 12-0 under ninth-year head coach Aimee Bates. PN-G will meet Vidor next Friday night in the Class 4A girls bidistrict round. The game will start on Lamar University's new soccer complex at 6 p.m. PN-G permitted 16 goals in 24 games but only one against district competition. The Lady Indians commanded a 4-0 halftime advantage. One of those seniors, goalkeeper Tatum Crochet, delivered her team's 17th shutout. Chloe Chiasson and Hayley Gerald scored three goals apiece, Natalie Hager added two and senior Katherine Hardy had one.
[Hidden Content]

Team you want to beat the most this fall?
Nederland (that's always so much fun) and Brenham (yes, payback).
You took the words right out of my mouth. Also, Central is pretty high on the list. I think that they'll be our fiercest competition in district play and that, once again, the district champion will emerge from the PN-G - Central game. -
PN-G currently uses block scheduling. I believe Nederland and Vidor do as well. What do you need to know?
Who is doing it and when do they begin? Pretty sure PNG did it in middle of March last year.
Any idea when they're doing the spring game this year?

Post Non-District Opponents Here!!!!
PN-G bamatex replied to WOSgrad's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
It's been posted on the PN-G site that we're playing Gregory-Portland in the Alamodome, Crosby, and Texas City in that order. Other than the G-P game, I don't know locations, dates, or times. -
So how far is too far to travel for a non-district game in your opinion? There are only 2 5A teams in the area and I believe that they both play at least two area 4A's The 4A district has seven district games in the area (Livingston is some distrance, but it still district) The 3A districts are now north and south in their orientation and a couple of them play some area 2A teams The 2A district is in the same shape as the 4A district so they play in the area for 7 of 10 games The 1A districts play their share of area 2A's, 1A's from the other division and several of the private schools in the area Could you be a bit more specific on which teams you are tired of scheduling outside the area?
In addition, playing teams from other areas gives coaches a good view of teams that they may meet in the playoffs.

Gordon LeBoeuf (pictured above) died recently. He still holds the all-time rushing record at PN-G with ~2,100 yds. Caleb Harmon is second with ~1,800. Looks like we had outstanding fan support back then, too. -

Congratulations, Barbers Hill. Hopefully this new coach will shake things up in 19-4A (or whatever district you're in after realignment) and bring y'all as much fun as Coach Faircloth brought us. Of course, until you meet the Indians on the field. ;D -

Best High School Football Team EVER?
I will give you this John Wilkins of Odessa Permian was one of the most dominating coaches ever. His record from 1973-85 was, 148 wins 16 losses 6 ties, that's 89% of his games won. That's a tough one to beat I'd say.
And one of those losses came at the hands of the Indians. ;D -
PN-G Football Sends 13 To All State Academic List

The teachers had a hand in this, too. They're always willing to go the extra mile for a student participating in one or more extra-curricular activities. Their rooms are almost filled with extra-curricular students for tutorials in the morning. -
2009 PN-G loss to Brenham in Second Round of Playoffs, 27-21 I still think that we would of won and maybe even gone all the way had we played four full quarters of football and had the referees been a little more fair, but it had been a rough week at the Reservation leading up to that game and there's always next year. Congratulations on a great season, Brenham.
