  1. With all the injuries and losses, it's obvious that Nederland is down this year, but they're certainly not out and we're talking about Mid-County Madness. This is the most exciting game of the year for every Mid-County fan and is the culmination of one of the fiercest and friendliest high school rivalries in the state of Texas. Anything, and I mean anything, can happen at this game. Progress prior to MCM doesn't matter at that game and it won't matter come Friday. As focused as these communities can be on football and Friday night in the week before a regular game, Port Neches, Groves, and Nederland will all be taking things to a much higher level this week. The enthusiasm, motivation, and spirit of the fans, students, teachers, coaches, football players, bands, drill teams, cheerleading squads, and all others somehow associated with this game are going to be the deciding factors. Nederland could walk in and beat us 77-0 like YankeeDawg said, or the Indians could "take the Bulldogs to the woodshed" as some on the PN-G site have put it. There's any number of ways this game could go down, but one thing's for certain: both sides must take the other seriously. That being said: Do I hope the Indians will win? As always. Do I think the Indians will win? Only because we're playing at the Reservation this year. As always, it's gonna be a heck of a game no matter what the outcome. Go Indians.
  2. B-Hall and part of A-Hall are set to be torn down and made into a parking lot along with the area behind the old boy's gym as soon as the construction of the new wings is completed. Have some patience. It's a safe bet that there will be plenty of parking by the next time that LC-M plays at the Reservation.
  3. well then band kid this just aint the place for ya! LOL jk This is high school football pickem which includes all classes to be fair. There are forums for you to be able to make your predictions in 20 4A or rate 20 4a teams if your intrested but Im not going to be able to take a line up with just 20 4a picks. There is alot of work involved in this and if I started taking partial lineups it would be too much to handle. If you have any questions feel free to pm or just ask thanks! Well, what the heck, then? I'll just do my best based on what I do know. Orangefield @ Newton Anahuac @ Deweyville East Chambers @ Buna Kountze @ Warren Evadale @ Sabine Pass High Island @ Hull Daisetta West Hardin @ Burkville Kelly @ Bridge City Hardin Jefferson @ Kirbyville Jasper @ Hamshire Fannett The Woodlands @ PA Memorial West Brook @ Katy Woodville @ Corrigan Camden Chester @ Colmesneil
  4. Ain't much to cover since it looks like 20-4A is going to have an overwhelmingly BORING year. ;D
  5. Vidor @ Central Goose Creek Memorial @ Dayton Houston CE King @ Barbers Hill Ozen @ Nederland LCM @ PNG Lumberton @ Livingston I'm not really qualified to make any judgments on any games outside of 19-4A and 20-4A.
  6. What tough 5A team did you guys play? Sorry. I had a brain fart and thought Texas City was a 5A school for a moment.
  7. This is going to be an interesting game for three reasons: Both teams have new coaches (and this will be the first of several district games of that kind for both teams). Both teams are recovering from a terrible season and have improved greatly compared to last season's performance. Both teams have had at least one tough win in preseason that has really pumped up the schools and their fan bases. That being said, I say it's a tough game because both teams have a lot of talent, a lot of enthusiasm, and an experienced coaching staff, but PN-G by at least 7 points. The homefield advantage, our team's experience from playing both a tough 4-A team and an even tougher 5-A team, and the extensive, game-specific preparation routines our stellar new coaching staff puts our team through are going to be the deciding factors for this game. I know a lot of people are going to say that PN-G is underestimating LC-M, but trust me when I say that, while the fans very well may be, the coaching staff most definitely isn't and, as they have shown they are more than capable of doing, will have this team ready to play the much-improved '09 LC-M Bears at the Reservation on Friday night.
  8. I don't know much about Galena Park this year, but if the Eagles play anything like they did at the season opener, they shouldn't have a problem. Best of luck, '09 Eagles.
  9. i went also, can't blame png for this. i doubt the png's coaching staff reviewed the film either. png fans, what happen to tip ? All I know for certain is that it's his health. The rumor is that it's inoperable lung cancer, but again, that's just a rumor. was that a recording at half, when i heard his voice? No. He's made it back to announce for the band, twirlers, and Indianettes for both of the games so far.

  11. I've heard that Mr. Keith (PN-GHS Principal) said that they're projecting a total of 12,000 fans in attendance tonight.

  13. WOW, you sure are proud. Whipped is the word you use, if you say so. png's offense was decent. We (MHS) can't figure out 3rd and 10 to save our lives,That's been our Achilles heel for 5 years. Offense moved the ball at will from 20 to 20, with the run and the pass. So (Proud) please controll your composure. Proud is right. Whipped. All PN-G did was bring the band out and PAM began to fall apart. Meanwhile, the HC was the HCheerleader instead of working on his in-game management skills..... Hey, without the band, it's just a game.
  14. I think we should keep the new helmets and go back to the old uniforms.
  15. First and foremost would be Big Purple vs. Big Ned. One of the heated rivalries that I haven't seen mentioned so far is Texarkana's Texas HS/Arkansas HS rivalry.
  16. In your opinion, they suck. While I don't believe them to be completely accurate, I love the rankings. In my opinion, they're great. To me, it shows that we're getting some respect from around the state for the first time in a while. Heard it best the other day, some of these schools are getting a lot of attention and hadn't even...umm lets say whizzed a drop! I'll admit that I don't believe many of the predictions for PN-G to be realistic (including this one - no offense TexasHSFootball, just a difference of opinion), but I do believe PN-G has a solid shot at the #3 district spot and the playoffs this year. I also don't believe that you can just write a football team off because they have a new coach, coaching staff, or system. I think that too many people think that PN-G will perform poorly this year simply because we have a new coaching staff. I don't think that Central will perform poorly this year simply because they have a new coach. In fact, in another thread, I said that I believe that Central will take the #2 spot. I just don't think it's fair for some to take a school lightly because there's been a major change when there's obvious evidence of major improvement as well as a decorated new coaching staff.

  18. Surely you were joking on the last part??? Surely you aren't serious.... I'm pretty sure he just did by using Rusk and Lake Travis as examples. What he's saying is that a major change has taken place and PN-G has done nothing to show that it's not catching on quickly or that the change wasn't a good thing. PN-G has a decorated coaching staff, a proven program, overwhelming community support, and plenty of talent coming up the ranks. I'll admit that, at least at this point, it's a little farfetched to say PN-G is going to take the district title and that it's worthy of the 29th position among Texas' top 4-A programs, but it is certainly not outrageous to make the claim that PN-G will be a threat this year and that great things lie in store for the Indians. While I don't completely agree with TexasHSFootball's district/state lineup, I agree with him in the sense that teams shouldn't just be disregarded because they have new coaches or a change has taken place, that last year's record was out of character for PN-G and is certainly not a standard to judge by for this year, and that PN-G is definitely not a foe to be taken lightly this year.
  19. Even as a PN-G fan, I feel that I must admit that this is wrong. I mean seriously, 29th in the state? It just doesn't seem right. This is a bit outrageous. It doesn't really seem fair. I agree with raideroldtimer - they were smoking something wacky. I mean, you'd have to be smoking something wacky not to give us #1. ;D
  20. I did a little thinking and remembered a conversation held on the PN-G board. In it, an Odessa Permian fan, named "mojofan," shed a little light on one of the uniform controversies. Maybe this is just a generic uniform used in preseason and district play. Maybe new uniforms (with names printed on them) will be ordered if and when we make the playoffs - uniforms with a different design - and these uniforms will just be thrown into storage until next year. Just a thought.
  21. Personally, I think we need to go back to the old uniforms but keep the new helmets.
  22. I don't. The crowd we would bring to a game like that would be pretty intimidating.... ;D We might even match the crowd we bring to MCM.
  23. In my completely unbiased opinion, this lineup is completely and totally accurate. ;D
  24. or they are working on "TAPS" We certainly won't be playing it in Lumberton this year.
