3. Most schools with that kind of talent won't hire anyone that doesn't have the talent to coach superstars like Coach Sutherland does. I have never seen a coach that could reel in a "superstar" when they needed to be for the good of the team like Sutherland can.
 4. I heard there was a bench clearing riot @ the end of the tournament @ the Montagne Center. Anybody heard anything?
 5. It might not be that easy. Coach Newton did a great job with that program in just one year. It was the best I saw them look in a long time. Mac might have to settle for the JV for now.

 7. Is it true that the YMBL - BISD has moved the tournament to the 1st December weekend (same as Nederland Boys Tournament).
Warren doesn't have a rich basketball history as of late but they used to put some really god teams on the floor. If I had to make a list it would have a lot of old schoolers on it: 1-The Whites-Reuben,Daniel,Wayne and Jessie.Throw in a couple of sisters and they beat most teams. 2-Jessie and James Wolf. Two great high school players who went on to the NFL. 3-Jimmy Rawls-He played in the late 60's I believe and could score 50 on any given night. 4-Johnathan McNeal-Big guy with a soft shot who could fill it up. 5-Jacob Terrell-Great player on a average club. 6-Jerrod Walles-Spent more time on baseball/football but was the real deal. 7-Alan Danos-Didn't play but 1 year but was the piece that made Warren go. 8-Paul Sims-Shot over 80% from the FT line and over 40% from behind the arc for his career. 9-Fred Dunham-PG-Could single handidly beat the press. These guys are not intended to be in any particular order but if I had to pick 1 as the best it would we Reuben White. This guy cut 4 fingers severely on his right hand in an ag shop accident and learned to play lefthanded and never missed a beat.
What about Ken Horuchuck(spelling?) & Bucky White from '81 - White went on to the Houston Oilers. Those were the 2 best that I've seen from Warren.

Help me out someone.
Esker Boykin, '5"7 dunk artist. He was the Spud Webb before there was a Spud Webb. He and William Coffey ruled their district for a few years.

As a pro, Bosh is an Allstar PF and  Perk is one of the better Centers in the league.  Perk doesn't get the shots bosh gets and his role is completely different.  But back to the State game which is what the argument is about.  Below is a quote used by the official site for Texas Basketball State championships! "The final matched two future NBA stars, 6’10” Sr Chris Bosh of Lincoln and 6’11” Kendrick Perkins of Ozen, in one of the greatest individual match-ups in the history of the state tournament.  However, Lincoln routed Ozen by 20 points utilizing a press and half-court trap that forced 27 Ozen turnovers which the Tigers turned into 39 points.  Statistically, Bosh and Perkins fought to a draw." Stat Line: Bosh with 21 points, 11 rebounds, 7 blocks, 2 steals and 2 assists Perkins with 20 points, 14 rebounds, 5 blocks and 1 assist Perk had that kind of Stat line and his guards could not get the ball across half court.  27 Turnovers!  It is amazing to pull that Stat line when you can't even touch the ball.  Over half of Bosh's points came off fast breaks when the ball was turned over!!!
Perk is not better than Bosh
Amen, BB Kid
 18. Exactly!!!! Too many inexperienced refs there.....many didn't look like they were comfortable out there hence swallow the whistle & let 'em bang. It is funny that your observation on block/charge is the same that I've heard from everywhere, it seemed like the opposite of what was called was what happened. They just didn't look comfortable on the " Big Stage "
 19. I think that the individual official route has been better than the crew route. I saw the 6 Thursday games in the girls tourney & all but the 5A final ( TV ) game and I didn't recognize but about 4 officials total. I believe Greg Garrett was working the tourney when it was individuals & they were all top notch refs-- didn't have to hide them in the lower level games. It didn't matter if you were with someone from Dallas/West Texas/ Panhandle, you all officiated the same way....good. The NBA & the NCAA schedule the same way...no crews. Check out the NCAA tourney officials in the coming weeks. They will probably be from 3 different states. You have to get the best officials in every game @ the state tourney level ( we owe it to the kids ) and you can't do it with crews. The best ref in the crew will only be as good as the weak one that the other two are covering up.
