  1. Who are the three playoff teams in this district? Looks like ours will finish Big Sandy, West Hardin, Hull - Daisetta.
  2. He will probably have to win the game to get COY.
  3. BS by 4-8. West hardin can win if they shoot like the did against H-D. It will be harder with a hand in their face every shot.
  4. If they run FAT 4.2 then it is legit. Oyherwise I would be skeptical.
  5. Look in 1A and you will see the names of several players from Hull - Daisetta. You may not consider us in the area, but we are much closer to the Beaumont area than some of the other schools you refer to.
  6. Now maybe they will let him play more next year. First start of the year: 10 tackles, 1 pass deflection, 1 sack, 1 forced fumble. That's a pretty good line! Port arthur news has never covered Eric like they have others from the area.
  7. If a coach gets reassigned before he is ready to get out of coaching altogether, he will leave. Most schools can find a reason to non-renew if they choose. First year teachers do not have to be given a reason for non-renewel. Go to THSCA.com and look how many jobs are open in the coaching ranks. Very few of these coaches were fired for "winning" records.
  8. Remember: Only the district champ made the playoffs for a long time. Then only two made it until around 95 or later. Now 3 or 4 get in every year in every classification. Not saying it is bad, just a whole lot easier. How many 9 -1 teams never made the playoffs in the old days. Today some 2 - 8 or 3 - 7 teams make it.
  9. If they are in the athletic period, they lift weights and condition year round. 90% of our kids play at least two sports and this helps all of them. No one lifts on game day. And before the question is asked, yes we lift four days a week during football season.
  10. Some teams never put in a zone defense because all they do is press and play man to man. Now they could back up to half court and pick up there. But if the subs rarely play, you have to let them press in order to prepare for the event that they have to play later.
  11. GOOD IDEA. DON'T LET ANY RESERVES TAKE A SHOT. AFTER SEEING THE SCORES DEWEYVILLE PUT ON WEAK SISTERS IN FOOTBALL, DO YOU REALLY BELIEVE ANYONE WILL CALL THE DOGS OFF WHEN GIVEN THE CHANCE?
  12. The only poll that counts comes out March 11. Congrats to WH on receiving the recognition and respect. Win them all except the next time we play!
  13. The first year was the second best on record! John Cunningham did a heck of a job considering a lot of the offensive possesions were fewer than five plays.
  14. I apoligize up front, allsportsfan. Did they hit them with a chicken or a duck?
  15. BEAT THE DEAD HORSE. THE OFFICIALS DID NOT COST LIBERTY THE GAME. HD HAS NOT HANDLED THE VACATION WELL. WE STRUGGLED AGAINST A WINLESS EVADALE TTEAM AND LOST THREE GAMES IN BC. WE BETTER GET IT TOGETHER.
  16. JUST PROVES ALL THE SPORTSWRITERS ARE UP WINDY'S WAY. NO ALTO PLAYERS FIRST OR SECOND TEAM? IF THAT'S THE CASE, THEIR COACH SHOULD BE COACH OF THE YEAR.
  17. JAMES JOHNSON AND RICHARD BRIGGS MEET THE QUALIFICATIONS LAID OUT ABOVE. BOTH UPSTANDING MEN, BOTH HAVE DAUGHTERS(GIRLS ATHLETICS), BOTH WERE HEAD COACHES OF SPORTS OTHER THAN FOOTBALL, BOTH KNOW FOOTBALL, BOTH WOULD DO A GREAT JOB FOR B.C.
  18. THE GAME WAS EVENLY CALLED UNTIL THE LIBERTY COACH THREW HIS HAT ON TO THE COURT. AFTER THE TECH., THE CALLS DID SEEM TO FAVOR HD. THE FOULS WERE ACTUALLY 4 - 2 HD AT THE TIME OF THE TECH. I WAS AT THE SCORERS TABLE SO I KNOW THIS TO BE A FACT. REGARDLESS, NO PARENT SHOULD ACT LIKE AN IDIOT AND COME ON THE FLOOR AFTER THE GAME TO YELL AT AN OFFICIAL. THIS GUY SHOWED A TOTAL LACK OF CLASS.
