1.
[Hidden Content] Most of the local talent can be found on the "Texas" regional link. Several Texas Sun Devils on the First Team All America. Congrats to all.
You are right GCM, these are the boys from the Texas region, but also from digging around on the website, I see that Grayson Long and Cameron Dishon made the High-Honorable Mention team in the nation. I hope I read that right. There are a number of others from the area on that list too. Great job boys, keep up the hard work!!!
 2. BH has held their own against these 5A schools. Great tourney to be in. 5A- bigger schools, deeper in pitching, tournament play...enough said. BH will be there when it counts.

 6. I know we went to a camp a few weeks back at U of H and it seemed all they were looking at were pitchers. Looks like that is the majority of what they picked up. Seemed like just a moneymaker for them. Not impressed with the camp. We do like U of H though. Good luck this season.

 10. We just bought a 2012 Nike Aero M1 ($199) It is the one piece bat, had problems in the past with 2 piece bats.. My boy used all the BBCOR bats this summer and this one felt the most live to him. It sounds more like the old aluminum also. Just his preference.
 11.
What did Jacobs AVG. end up being?
For district or for the season?
 12. My son has played on the Gladiators the last 2 years with him. He works as hard at practice and warm ups before the game as he does during the game. Great kid and should be playing for a while!!

 14.
ENOUGH said.....WOW great job B.B....I know Nik & Jefferson slept good last night :D..TAILGATE TIME...wooooo hoooo...GO DOGS
B. Brown did a good job last night, but I can't take anything away from G. Long either.... 12 SO and 2 (timely) hits for Ned. Not too shabby and 2-0 score. Good ball game.
 15. I agree totally! This is a great District to be in for baseball. You have to bring your 'A' game every week if you want to succeed. All these boys play hard and have good talent.
 16. I think Legett is pitching. Long pitched complete game Friday.
 17. We call that keeping them in check. No harm, no foul!
 18. Apparently he had the ball...............He's out!!!
 19.
if the catcher is up the line from his orgional position, then the runner does not have to avoid contact. it then becomes a judgement call with the ump if he thinks it was milicious. now if he has the ball already he has to make a LEGAL attempt to avoid contact to making a play on him. which has to be 3 ft within base line, head first or feet first with feet below the knee.
THE RULE: “A runner who fails to make a reasonable attempt to avoid a collision with a defensive player shall be called out. Any other runner advancing on the play shall be required to return to the last base visited. In the event that an umpire determines that a collision was flagrant (i.e., attempting to bowl over the catcher when it is clear that he has the ball and is waiting to apply the tag...), he has the authority to eject the offending player from the game.” Only professional baseball allows intentional collisions between runners and fielders. At every amateur level, due to an obvious concern for player safety, such contact is forbidden. If an umpire judges a collision flagrant, severe penalties may be imposed.
 20.
Your response does not put the play to rest. Why should Hackney be ejected? Why was the pitcher not ejected if he shoved another player? Most baseball players would have done the same thing the Lee baserunner did. The problem is that he was playing in high school and not any other level. If you block the plate be prepared to accept the results. My player will accept his.
As stated above, "The problem is that he was playing in high school and not any other level.". So coach the boys at a high school level where it deems necessary. You can't expect a catcher to protect his plate behind the bag! If he didn't have the ball, that is one thing, but he had the ball. He had a better chance at scoring if he slid anyway. I may be wrong, but I think the only bag that can be protected out front is home.
 21.
Guillory did his job on the mound last night his defense just made too many errors behind him. They need to change something up at Brook on their infield because thats their killer everygame it seems like. That one big inning always kills them.
BH made their share of errors to start the game but hung in there until the tide turned. Too many mental mistakes, but now is the time to work on that. Need to have that cleaned up by March 15th.  :)
