Let me set the record straight. There was no accident where the two vehicles collided. These kids entered an unlocked gate that consists of 100 acres or more of undeveloped land behind the baseball field. To date the boys have worked 12 hours around the school as punishment for the horseplay. It was not a premeditated or vandilous act that occurred but 7 highschoolers killing time before baseball practice. These are all good highschoolers that have never been in trouble until this incdient. They are all very remourseful and hope this does not affect their futures.
They may be boys who were bored and never been in trouble before, but let's not forget the fact that it was high school property (baseball practice field) that they vandalized. Premeditated or not the damage was done. The school officials will take this matter in their hands when school resumes tomorrow. I was told that there were a couple of incidents last season too. Some of the boys were horse playing in the locker room and got in trouble and had to sit out two games. No one got hurt and no school property was damaged! There was another player who had some illegal stuff in his truck and was caught, but nothing was done, so I guess it is 50/50 of what may happen to these boys. I guess we will have to wait and see. It may come down to who you are!

"Sorry, that's all I got. Maybe we could get their Little League records." Wow! I'm guessing your either not impressed or care to much with the rest of the kids on the list. To make a statement like that without knowing anything about them. Good job GCMPats! Time will tell. -

Does anyone else have anything on the others on this list? Sure would like to know what to expect from these young, but talented new faces! -

If this is the same Dylan that I've seen in the past playing QB and baseball, you'll right! He is an excellent athlete. This kid can pitch and not only pitch, but can also locate, too! Glad to here his name mentioned. Good luck Broncos!

I haven't seen Vidor yet, but PNG, Nederland and LCM have great coaches and a good group of kids. It will be a very competitive district. LCM has the youngest team of the three. Experience may be the difference in this race. I look for PNG or Nederland to win the district, but all four should make the playoffs!

Thanks for your opinion westend1. Where did I say I didn't like his. I only corrected some of his comments. I watched the entire tournament and seen for myself. I don't need to make a list. There are several JV programs with kids having great potential. Barbers Hill is one of those programs and whether it has freshman or sophomores on the team doesn't matter to me. The best kids should play and will, just don't give credit to only a few kids, spread the wealth!

I've seen several JV teams play in this area. The teams that stand out and have plenty of potential are: Kirbyville, Bridge City, Lumberton, Barbers Hill and PNG. All of these programs will have strong varsity teams in the future. Good luck to all of them! Although they are not from this area and have mostly Juniors on the team, Santa Fe looked impressive at the Barbers Hill Tournament.

Ohhhh so touchy brown022! You have to be related to one of the freshman kids! You did not offend me. Remember, I don't have a kid playing at BH. There is no problem mentioning certain kids, everybody is getting their kid's name out there. Obviously there is different definitions of consistency, as well as facts. For example, you may want to ask around if you haven't been to all the games, to say that a certain kid has zero errors, is not quite accurate! As far as tension, I haven't noticed nor have heard of any, could be coming from the kids not playing! This time of the year, all coaches will move kids in and out of the lineup and play them at different positions, so the kids no playing time will be limited. Yes, in time certain kids will stand out and some will fade away. That is life! Take care brown022. Enjoy the game and don't worry about the rest!

Hey brown022, you make a case for some of these kids, but it is obvious that you have not been to all of the JV games, especially this past weekend. It is still early and the coaches are trying to work kids in and out to see what they have, but some of the kids you mentioned are not even starting! Just like the Varsity team, the underclassmen will have to wait their turn. I haven't seen any outstanding freshmen that bring consistency to the game, as least at this point of the season. Sure, they are contributing at times, but this is baseball and you can't get excited about one or two games. Look what happen against Santa Fe, two of the pitchers you mentioned accounted for 11 runs and against Huffman, one of the kids gave up 6 runs in one inning. Yea, I know you can make a point about some errors, but keep in mine that some of the other kids you mentioned are the ones making the errors, too! Santa Fe has an older JV team, but my point is these younger kids are not ready to face older kids when it comes to pitching or hitting. They need more time. You only mentioned three sophomores. You need to come out and watch some games because you’re missing some good talent. There was a kid who was lights out against Dayton, both on the mound and at the plate. In addition, there are a few more kids who have great potential, including one kid who is knocking the cover off the ball and playing third and a big kid who can probably pitch as good as most of the Varsity kids that I’ve seen! So, if you’re going to mention names, then at least mention all of them. Remember some of these kids may be reading these posts! Oh, and if you were wondering, I don't have a kid on the BH team. I'm just a baseball guy who happens to watch a lot of baseball all over Southeast Texas and know a lot of coaches. This weekend I chose the BH Tournament and next weekend I will be at the Huffman Tournament. Good luck BH. See you soon!
