I thought we would come out flat, but score more than 13 for sure. Offense never seemed to find any ryhthm, so credit the Bucs' defense. Until next year...

OF is definitely up too far - reminds me of Texas Tech...they can score but cant stop anybody (besides HF & Tarkington). Corrigan & Coldspring while good, shouldn't be in the ranking - maybe east tex ranking

Coaching could be a factor, but I've always felt that Tarkington just didn't have the athletes/talent to compete in football - but they are better in most other sports.

But to answer your question, his name is Cameron Mitchell and was all-state honorable mention @ LB last season as a sophomore. Anahuac has such a good group this year that we really don't throw out names(players) like other schools do - just the Panthers. With that being said, Bucs defense may be somewhat stout?(32pts Newton, 28 OF, 41 HJ), but they can't hold back our offense - so seriously, don't get your hopes up neighbor! Once again, 42-21 Panthers victorious!

Dislike...might as well put all the teams in the playoffs! DI champ should play DII champ for the true state champion - IMO

Who knows what will happen, let's cross that bridge when we get to it. But I will say this...this years Panther squad would've played last years wildcat squad a better game @ LCM - we still wouldn't have won the game, but it would have been closer - probably fewer onside kicks on our part?? I'm still baffled by that?? ??? Underestimate the Panthers all you want, and if you do get by CC don't think for one second you won't have your hands full in the area round - just saying it won't be a cake walk for you guys!

Well if this happens, I say they take Warren out of 23AA and put them where they belong...22AA. They should do this regardless if Shelbyville drops down. Nothing against the warriors, but there's no reason why they shouldn't be in the same district as Woodville!!

Blood lines are good, that's all I know. Hopefully there will be some non-district action coming, and why not? As good as Newton and Kirbyville are, I think my Panthers are just as good this year. I'll give Curtis the nod for now!! 8)

C'mon bobcat, you know something seems a little fishy about this last ranking. I mean EC didn't even get any votes, but Buna did and they lost to the Bucs? Anahuac drops out because of a bye week? I'm just wanting a decent and honest explanation. Panthers should be right under WOS!

We played a real predistrict Can't deny EC's schedule was tougher before district, but it doesn't necessarily make them the better team, and I doubt it will help in this contest. If I was a betting person and from EC, there's no way I'd put $$ on my Bucs to win this game, but I'd be rooting for them of course. I've seen a lot of different teams come through Anahuac & EC over the last 20 years, and this may just be the best Panther team I've witnessed in that time frame and I've seen way better Buc squads. Yes, root for your team, but I wouldn't get my hopes up, just saying! I will start a new topic once the game has been played and the headline will read: "but we played a real predistrict!"

Anahuac should be in the top ten WOSgrad...OF @ #7 after losing to an unranked EC in week 0. So, by looking at these rankings, if we beat EC it won't help us, it could only hurt us? But if EC wins they break the top 10 underneath a team they already beat. Fubar

I'm not sure that I'm underestimating your Bucs as much as I'm just confident in my Panthers. There's no doubt this will be settled on the field, but I just don't think EC will have the size nor the speed to keep up. EC got beat by 25pts to Newton and our size/speed IMO is equivalent to that of the Eagles. Our defense has only allowed 6pts in district...yes that's only 2 games, but our offense has scored nearly 100 points and I just don't see y'all stopping us. Believe me I root for EC in every game besides the "Chambers Co. Cup", but this is a prediction thread, not who you're rooting for thread.
