  1. Scrimmages are nothing you run a couple plays on offense and a couple on defense and then you play a couple of minutes of live action. Scrimmages are just to see how players look and how they play like a team. So with that being said the real deal will be Friday Night under the lights, I pick the Panthers over the Bucs 35-21. Called it Lol, this wil be far different from that scrimmage you keep referring to, and you will see first-hand friday night just how good the panthers are...please tell me EC is better since the infamous scrimmage because it could get ugly quick!
  2. Justin Albritton is no-doubt the best sophomore in the area. He's been out with an injury the last few weeks, but should return to action soon. Anahuac still has this kid for another 2 seasons and he will be a beast by the time he's a senior.
  3. Tigers -- 31 Cardinals -- 27 Good luck to both teams!
  4. 1. Newton 2. Jasper 3. Silsbee 4. WOS 5. Kirbyville 6. Anahuac 7. Cleveland 8. Bridge City 9. Hardin Jefferson 10. Evadale 11. East Chambers 12. Orangefield
  5. Pirates --18 Warriors -- 6
  6. ummm....kountze?
  7. I been holding in the scrimmage thought because it won't be long before they say "but it was a scrimmage we weren't really playing etc." Nope, us Anahuac folk have no need to look back on that scrimmage (EC folks seems to bring it up alot though) and I truly think you're gonna be shocked at what you see from the Panthers this Friday. This is the best squad I've seen since the '91 & '92 seasons(Mikhael Ricks, Jason Speights, Walter Terry era). This will be for the district championship and AP should win with relative ease. EC is a good team and they rep our district / county well and wish them the best of luck!
  8. Weaker opponents or not, we've still put all but one of them away - and in dominating fashion. I will agree that Kirbyville is good and would be a touch match up for Anahuac, but we are far better this year than last season, and like I stated in a different post, the wildcats just don't seem to have that same swagger as last season - even with their brutal nondistrict schedule. Yes they have been tested more, but we are talented enough to beat them! In my opinion, K'ville will win their bi-district game again over CC, then face my Panthers in a dogfight. To stay on topic...no K'ville will not face Arp again in my opinion!
  9. Anahuac will have too much speed for EC to handle no matter what the conditions are, and will probably win by 3 scores... Panthers -- 42 Buccaneers -- 21
  10. I don't see the Hornets getting beat any worse than they did last week, but I do think EC will win by 2 or 3 scores! Plus it looks like it could get real sloppy out there!
  11. We will see who's the better team now that we have 2 key players back on the field. Like I stated earlier, time will tell.
  12. LOL! Truthfully I see both teams having their hands full around that time. Need to watch the cats play for sure, but based on what I've seen from my Panthers, they would've played last years state runner-up a tighter game @ LCM - and I'm not joking. This years squad is far better, so toss up @ this point - even with a weak schedule! EC still beats the hornets (to stay on topic)! ;D
  13. OF -- 35 HF -- 12 Good luck to both teams!
  14. Nothing against EC, they have a great program, but what I saw in Anahuac the other night was very impressive. I don't see anyone in our district having even a remote chance of beating them. This has nothing to do with what you think of Hardin, this is based purely on the size and speed of their line on both sides of the ball and their piles athleticism. EC will at least have home-field advantage, and you never know what will happen in such a rivalry. According to everyone on here, Anahuac has played a weak schedule, even after whooping Hardin (supposedly decent before Friday) - but I think EC will face the best team it's played all season when they suit up against the Panthers next week - yes, that's even after playing Newton!. There's no doubt my neighbors will be ready to play, but looking on paper and in my crystal ball, AP's remain undefeated in 23AA. Bucs should win this Friday against the Hornets, so good luck to both teams!!
  15. Kountze -- 26 D'ville -- 18 Good luck to both teams!
  16. Let's face it, whether he touched the ball 7 times or 30 times during the game Hardin had no chance of winning last Friday night. Everybody can coach from the sidelines or the stands, and it was Coach Haynes call to keep Villemez rested - this gamble could pay off for the Hornets, who knows? It was 34-0 @ the half and I probably would have kept him on the bench as well - especially since their defense couldn't stop us anyway. Yes you play to win the game Mr. Burgundy, however, this game was lost before they stepped off the bus. Anahuac has rebounded very well after their loss to Kinkaid and the team just looks like a well-oiled machine - kudos to the coaching staff! Still have a ways to go in this district, but the future looks bright. Go AP!
  17. Enough about the schedule already, how 'bout some dang praise for routing the Hornets! If you had the chance to observe what's going on out on the field you would see that Anahuac is simply executing and winning the battle at the line - offense and defense. We all know that K'ville will be tough to beat, but there's no doubt our chances are better this year than last year. The Wildcats just don't have the same swagger about them and the Panthers are much improved. Time will tell!
  18. Wait, I think we just scored again!!! lol
  19. HJ - 30 BC - 26 Good luck to both squads!
  20. Hardin regroups and Villemez has 150+yds with 3td's, however it won't be quite enough. Neighbors - 40 Hornets - 27 Good luck to both teams!
  21. I think a team from Buna will give the Hornets fits if Hardin does lose to EC. I'd worry about making the playoffs at this point versus a first round match-up that might not happen! I don't know why Hardin's best player didn't play much, game got out of hand quick so that could be the reason - but the Hornets were just outmatched by far better athletes/talent. If Villemez had played the entire game I still don't see Hardin scoring more than twice. (ie: 55-12) I hear some Cougars waking up in the distance, hunting for a playoff spot!
  22. I thought the game would be closer as well, but Anahuac was just too much for the Hornets, turnovers or not! Hardin moved the ball some, but looked beat from the get go and the score showed. Not much playing time for Villemez - he looked good at times, but it wouldn't have mattered had he played the entire game. Congrats to my Panthers and good luck to the Hornets the rest of the way. Go AP!
