RANKINGS: Top 5 in Southeast Texas By RYAN S. CLARK August 22, 2009 Posted: August 22, 2009, 9:20 PM CDT How The Beaumont Enterprise ranks the top five high school football teams in Southeast Texas (with 2008 records): 1. West Orange-Stark (12-1) The District 21-3A school has two Oklahoma-bound players in Trey Franks and James Haynes. Both play wide receiver and defensive back. 2. Vidor (5-4) Vidor returns 18 starters and has an offensive line that averages 280 pounds. The big boys up front should allow the running game to be successful. 3. West Brook (7-2) The junior-heavy Bruins return 22 lettermen. Coach Craig Stump calls this season's team the most athletic he's had in five years at the school. 4. Lumberton (8-2) The two-time defending District 20-4A champs will look for three this year as it returns 11 starters, including standout linebacker Anthony Beard 5. Silsbee (6-5) A play away from beating WO-S last season, Silsbee returns West Virginia University-bound quarterback Jeremy Johnson.

Vidor 28, WOS 21/Post Comments Here!!!!!!!!!!

Was Haynes injured on the hit along the sideines? When vidor scored that last touchdown to put them at 28.......James was chasing after the guy and he jumped for him (to tackle him) and it seemed he might of just landed on his wrist the wrong way. Im pretty sure its when it happened but i could be wrong... Hats off to vidor, i was impressed with overall play. If vidor can run the ball and get 4-5 yards a play...watch out in district play. I would like to see vidor play a team that has size close to them. The mustangs are a good test but they just dont have the size like vidor showed. Best of luck to the pirates -
I agree that the stangs could use some different playcalling, but Hooks won't throw the ball over the middle. If it does happen, it would be a suprise to me and I would be all for it.

This is gunna be a great game and is a toss up, but in the end i say Kansas by 6. Best of luck to'em

very good game by the ags against the refs...haha. UCLA has a good team but the ags had'em on the ropes. If we could have made more freethrows and a couple baskets down the stretch in the last 6 mins or so we wouldn't had to worry bout the last play. Lots of people say they don't call that type of foul that late, which i find complete BS. Sure i wanted to see them win the game to prove others wrong, but they played one heck of game........And the dunk, it's the game, it happens i didn't see anthing wrong with it. If remeber correctly the commentators were eatin him up pretty bad on his performance during the game, so it helped him out a'lil.

Texas vs. Stanford Predictions
20FAN07 replied to beaumontballer44's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
Gunna be a good game..........Texas can handle gaurd play, but will be interesting with the lopez brothers. I think Texas has enough experience with big men and how to work them over, but always a good chance for stanford to win. It will be a close scoring game...best of luck to texas now that my aggies are out..... -
The ags need to focus on BYU so the UCLA - A&M matchup can happen...................But looking at other games, TEXAS: i see them beatin-n-bustin through the 1st and 2nd round and then play stanford to get to the elite 8. If Texas can control the paint and limit the brothers down below the will move on. In the elite 8 i see texas playin pit (my upset is pit over memphis, but always a chance for memphis to win). Whomever Texas plays it will be a big task, but it would be a big task for anyone.....But i see Texas in the final 4 BAYLOR: i could see them beating purdue, but it will be a big game for them.....2nd round could be tough, i expect xavier to beat georgia, but idk much bout either team. A&M: i see them beating BYU, but UCLA is a tall task that i can't predict........all of there games though depend on who shows up. KSU and USC should be a good game and i say KSU wins, but i think wisconsin will get them in rd 2 Oklahoma - i think they will win first rd, but louisville would be interesting Kansas - knowing history they will prob lose early haha, but if not they have a really good shot to the final 4. But like texas the elite 8 game i think will be against georgetown and that will be a tough game. I know this was an aggie thread, but i didn't think yall would mind......... Best of luck to all of the Big 12 though, men and women....

The Ags will be in, it will be very interesting in what team shows up come first round......hopefully the team from the big 12 tourny. We may "Not be that good" but we have the athletes and talent to compete, but like bullets said were so dang inconsistent.....

Better yet, 2006 - WOS - went 2007 - HJ - went and won the title 2008 - Silsbee - went and title pending great showing of the district, best of luck to silsbee

I said DUKE is overrated!
20FAN07 replied to Mr. Buddy Garrity's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
Just because of a loss doesn't mean their overrated. Sure they should win these games, but when everyone is gunnin for you your gunna slip up sometimes. They will be in the runnin till the end... -
Texas is not overrated and they will win games down the road. The only thing that really hurts them is not having a good selection of big men. Augustin and abrams are amongst some of the best in what they do. When the horns came to CS the ags were able to play their game. We were in reed and their performance was top notch, which is exactly what i expect to see texas do when we go to austin..............but we'll win ofcourse

2012??? haha "BC will be on top soon".......Wow.....When your on our level come back and talk to us, haha just playin. Random games every year will be interesting, but WOS will prevail. I don't see them getting beat next year, but have to wait and see on the future years. Next year i say orangefield silsbee and wos will be in the playoffs, i still think bc still needs to work some things out, but who knows..we'll have to wait and see
