L-Train has all the time in the world now to watch some good football.... Congrats......
-
Just wanted to take a minute to thank those who have fought for us over the years. Without your sacrifices we wouldn't be able to enjoy what we have here at home. If you see a veteran today... shake his/her hand.... pay for his/her meal....... or just tell them "THANK YOU"

Oversight regarding Nederland..... now on the list Livingston has to be on the list.... it will make several lists of the WORST fields in TEXAS for a school their size ........ Hard to see the game with the light poles in the way////

Just trying to generate some discussion. Love the football discussion , but also enjoy hearing about facilities from these 2 districts and others as well. I have seen most of the schools in these districts...just wondering if anyone thinks as I do... please rank based on your experiences...... Good Luck to all teams this 1st round. Ranking 22-5A: 1. "The Butch" ...... Being from a multi - school district they should have a stadium this nice....ashamed they cannot pack it to capacity on a weekly basis. 2. "The Reservation" PNG........ Great Atmosphere........ parking is bad..... otherwise a must visit for the football followers. 3. "Stallworth" Baytown........ Great Venue......16,000 capacity makes it way too large for most games...... Only PNG will constantly fill their side to capacity.... Baytown can never come close to filling it. 4. Port Arthur......... great job on the new upgrades..... nice set up.... never have seen the dressing facitiies , but all else is good. 5. Lumberton......... new turf is Great........ large stadium..... Dressing could be upgraded for visitors.... but plenty of nice things for the football fan. 6. Nederland....... ok.....MENTAL ERROR on my part..... love lots about the stadium... needs turf and dressing rooms...but when the stands are packed it is a great venue. 7. Vidor........... Nice scoreboard....... Did I say nice scoreboard........ " and they know how to put points on that scoreboard" field, dressing facilities are very sub-par at best. 8. Livingston......... nothing needs to be said.... heck I liked just listening to the former announcer at their games...... Ranking 21- 5A: 1. Texan Drive Stadium ( New Caney ISD)....... Might be the best venue in the Houston Area...... top notch everything...... 2. Turner Stadium ( Humble ISD ) .......... Great Job a few years ago with the upgrades...... Wish the track was not around the venue so the crowd experience would be better. 3. Buddy Morehead Stadium ( Conroe )....... Like the set up... wish it was as nice as WoodForrest...but nice venue. 4. Barbers Hill........ nice atmosphere...... new video board...... Dressing Lacks for visitors...... Parking is better than Crosby or Dayton....... 5. Crosby.......... all the renovations are great....... Dressing is bad for opponents...... Atmosphere and Video Board might be the best in the District...... Leaving after a game........an adventure 6. Dayton........ The Home bleachers that reach to the Stars......... Parking and Dressing are deal breakers here........ atmosphere has been down the past few years unless you went to the JV games this year....( SORRY I COULDNT RESIST Bronco94) 7. Splendora........ making an attempt with the turf a such........ will take them some tome to catch up with the bigger players in the district.

New Caney ISD will not be 6A......AFFIRMATIVE!!!!!

Y'all... I am just a football fan. This should be a very exciting game for those that make the trip. Hope it will be a packed house. I think it will be the best matchup between 21-5A AND 22 5-A
-
I hope for the districts sake that the Broncos are in mix next year. But...I have my doubts.......
-
I agree it is hard....but if a soph. is better than the JR or SR you bring them up and play them. BIG difference on Friday night than on Thursday night......
-
looks like the girls didn't play in the gym either... from looking at the score in the Vball thread....
-
I will go with LILTEX'S assessment of the Broncos. Your right AAW..... he is a realist.
-
one thing I like about Barbers Hill and PNG......THE FAN BASE IS PASSIONATE!!!! ....... about there teams. Kudo's to them for supporting their kids!!!!!!!!
-
might have to take in this game to see what hell looks like...

Wow.......... got me shakin....in my pants......

If this is a duplicate topic I am sorry. Just wanted to get some input on people's thoughts on the state of DISTRICT 21-5A for next year. This year was a doozy as far as some very exciting and competitive games. SPLENDORA: Had their 15 minutes of fame in defeating Dayton ( if they played Dayton 10 times they would lose 9 of those ) ... caught the Broncos at the right time that night. Look at the remaining games and they went winless in District. Lost to Caney Creek. ( FUTURE: BOTTOM DWELLER ) CANEY CREEK: Bad year after year..... Yes they beat Splendora ...... but got dominated by the rest of the district. Don't see much promise in the years to come. ( FUTURE: BATTLES SPLENDORA FOR LAST PLACE) KINGWOOD PARK: Not sure what to think ..... Losing players to graduation is bad...but losing your Coach 2 years ago has caused the program to become average (Holly was a BIG LOSS). Lots of work to do for this program to compete for playoffs. (FUTURE: 6-7 PLACE COMPETITOR) HUMBLE: This is one of the most talent laden teams in the district...yet they cannot win the games that count. Athletes everywhere.....Defensively usually in the top 3 in the district. Offensively constantly unorganized and lost. If the right person gets this straightened out then the rest of the district better watch out. (FUTURE: 5-6-7 PLACE COMPETITOR) DAYTON: This season had high hopes attached to it in Bronco land. New Coach ( Stewart disciple) .... 20 years in the playoffs....good nucleus returning.... young guns filling out the roster.......Seniors galore!!!!! Not sure what happened.....out of the gate Splendora surprised the Broncos on their home field. Not sure what the issue was with the Broncos. Maybe they loaded their JV TEAM UP to prepare for the future. Not sure what to expect next year with the loss of soooooooo many seniors. (FUTURE: 4- 5-6 COMPETITOR ) PORTER: Biggest surprise in the district. Holley took the same kids that have not won much and made them a force to be reckoned with. Upset of Crosby put them on the map and garnered them much need respect. Coaching...Coaching...COACHING....... can change a culture of losing. Loosing some very good Seniors will hurt the Spartans next year....But Holley is a veteran coach and will have them ready again for another playoff run. (FUTURE: AS LONG AS HOLLEY IS THERE THEY WILL COMPETE FOR A PLAYOFF SPOT 3-4-5 ) BARBERS HILL: Can almost copy what was said above about Porter. Coaching has made a big impact in Barbers Hill. What should be most noted is they went from a wishbone attack to an all out Spread attack and have been very successful doing it. IMO everything is looking up in BH. Will have a good core coming back next year and should only get better from here on out. Championship coaching produces championship results... Year 2 should see the Eagles battling out for the top spots in the district (FUTURE: 1-2-3 Will get better year after year ). NEW CANEY: Back to back playoff seasons....something good is going on. With the growth in the area this should be a consistent playoff contender. The loss of Allison will be hard to account for but would be surprise of someone showing up out of nowhere to fill that position. Cooper coming back is big. Good scheme, good coaching, and consistent growth are the ingredients for success here. (FUTURE: 1-2-3 YEARLY) CROSBY: Until someone knocks them off the top of the district you have to put them at the TOP. Athletes in the skill positions keep them on the top. Down in the trenches on the offensive line this year , but they have and will only get better. They will lose lots of talent this year , but as always they seem to have more waiting. Teams in the district are starting to close the gap, but have yet to take the title from them. Great coaching staff, great fan base, and awesome support from the top keeps them in the conversation each year for a deep playoff run. (FUTURE: 1-2 YEARLY )

Regardless of who plays for both sides this will be a great matchup....... Both schools support there teams and kids better than lots of schools around. Should be a large crowd on hand for this game.
-
We will see if your comment is true come playoff time.......
-
SOOOOOOOO FUNNY!!!!!! JV COOGS WENT INTO BRONCO STADIUM AND IN YOUR WORDS ......GOT THAT AZZ SPANKED!!!! Splendora went into BRONCO STADIUM .......and stomped.. Porter......same result.... NC .......ditto...... That purple drink must be good in the morning....
