Austin Stone pitched the 3rd game against Magnolia.

I think the series was switched from Bryan due to no hotel rooms due to A&M graduation.

[/quote] Actually for Nederland to lose 2 more games would mean Vidor would beat them next week and since Nederland and Vidor would each have a victory against each other, who knows who would have the tie breaker.  And as for as PNG, I think PNG would have the tie breaker against Nederland since PNG beat Nederland 11-3 and Nederland beat PNG 3-1.  While I think it is possible for Vidor to beat Nederland, I think Nederland will beat Lumberton but you never know how the ball will bounce.

When PNG played Lumberton March 29 in Lumberton, it took extra innings before PNG won 3-1.  It was a game that we (PNG) could have easily lost.  Last night Chris Sweetenham pitched for PNG and I am not sure who Lumberton used (2 pitchers).

Final score was actually PNG 11  Lumberton 0.  During the bottom of the 5th while PNG was leading 9 -0, Austin Stone homered with one on to make the final score 11 -0.

The Bmt Enterprise reported that the East lanes of I-10 by Wallisville will be closed tonight from 9pm-5am for restriping.  Well, that was last night according to the DOT at Anahuac.  The Enterprise apparently misread the Twitter they got from the DOT.  Everyone be careful tonight and good luck to your team.  GO INDIANS!

Highest Ranked but lowest number in poll  i.e. Number 1 in a poll could be called lowest due to no number lower than 1 but it sounds much better to say highest ranked IMO.  Does any of this makes sense?

ImJusSayn, are you judging all PNG fans by some of the ones that post on this web site?  How many is that?  A handful?  I tell you what - if you won't judge "the majority of PNG fans" by some of the comments here, I won't judge all of BH fans by some of the comments here either.  BTW if we had lost to Central, we would have been co-champs, not 2nd.

I didn't know that.  Do you know if there are any HS playoff games at Reliant this weekend?  If not I wonder why.

Just wondering.  Since the Dome is no longer useable (at least I don't think it is) will Reliant Stadium be available for some of the high school playoff games later in the year.  Could have double headers there.  Would be fun!  I know it has been used for HS games at the start of the season.

[/quote] A few years back when they scheduled us (PNG) and Nederland in back to back games at the Dome, they put us on opposite sides of the field because of the large amount of fans each team bring.  One problem was the Dome officials wouldn't let us cross from one side of the field after the 1st game to the other side for the 2nd game.

Usually when PNG has an away game and we arrive at the stadium around 6pm all we have to do to determine what side we are sitting on is to glance at the stadium and head for the side that has all the fans.  Well Friday night, when we arrived at the Babe, both sides were fairly full with fans.  It was great seeing both sides with such a fan base.  It helped make the game very exciting!

Central will play Goose Creek Memerial (sp?) at the Babe next Friday night in the playoffs.

But it now looks as though this wasn't the last game at the Babe.  Central has a chance to shut the Babe down with a victory.  Good luck Central.  You gave my Indians all we could handled.  Shame one team had to lose.

I don't think anyone has mentioned big Ernie Ladd from Orange.  He played pro in the 60's I think.  I believe he was from the old North HS in Orange.  Maybe the 1st 300 pounder in the pro.

I think each district has their own rules about this and I think our district says if two team have the same record they are co-champs. 

Hey WOSgrad, You say PNG & Central are in the playoff.  Then you say Vidor will be with a win, Nederland will be with a win and Lumberton will be with a win and a Ozen loss.  Well, all three can't make it to the playoff by winning - there are only two places up for grab.

Harmon scored against Vidor near the end of the game because he wasn't tackled.
