I have literally watched that man get his pinky finger severed while we were hitting sleds and one of the leaf springs broke. The man took a knee for a second, stood up and kept blowing the whistle. Blood everywhere. He didn't care. Mr.King, our trainer, had to dang near drag that man away to go to the hospital. He didn't give a rats butt that he only had 9 fingers. It was all about us finishing practice. That was the day I realized he walked what he talked. Who in the blank can cut his finger off and still continue practice??? I will NEVER forget that. And I bet my buddies that were hitting sleds with me that evening can attest to that. One of them was right next to me when it happened, Mr. Larry Spears. He will tell you the exact same thing.

I hate beating up on Orangefield but they are our district mates. One thing for sure, the sportsmanship will be top notch Friday. Both our boys respect each other. Also, a lot of the Bobcats parents are WOS alumn. Hopefully we both get out of the game injury free and make good runs in the playoffs. This is the only week I won't support the Orange and White. But around 10pm or so, I'll be behind the Bobcats 112%.

Bellville vs Shepherd District Championship
kicker replied to aTmfan06's topic in High School Football
I haven't seen Shepherd or Bellville in person this year so all I can go on is last year. Bellville looked good against us for a bit in the playoffs. If it's more or less the same team, I'll lean toward the Brahmas -
That was for Lion by the way. Lol oops
-
And also, when that happens Lion, look at the combined score of all three against WOS......

Doesn't matter, BC and Silsbee will win their games against your "superior" East Texas teams....I wouldn't bet against LCM either....

That district is so jacked up, we won't know until Friday night at 10 or 11pm. -
You know what? You know your team is a beast when they obliterated their opponent and the "nay Sayers" can only use the rebuttals of time of possession. Lmao!! Come on man, keep trying. Liberty had zero chance and everyone knew that. That's why they ran a pop warner offense to keep from being blown out. When a team only has the ball for 10 percent of the whole game but still opens a can of whoop ass, I can't find flaw in that. Let someone try that again and see what happens.

I was standing on the fence in direct view of the INT. Liberty didn't strip it away until after our players butt hit the ground. I was literally yards away and in plain view. It was the correct call.

Bellville vs Shepherd District Championship

How far is Bellville from Shepherd? -
It's funny to even consider this a problem but by us scoring so fast, it will cause other teams to try and emulate Liberty. Of course without the monsters Liberty had, probably won't work.

We have a very good kicker. Some of his mechanics were a little off last night which is easily fixed. The issue was timing. Like I said earlier, it takes 3 people to kick a field goal. Of one of the three are out of sync, it won't work. I applaud coach T for sticking with kicking to get the timing down. When your normal holder scores a butt load of touchdowns, it's only normal to give the kid a rest after said touchdown. The kicking game will be fine.

I'm starting to like Lion70. People like him is what makes these boards fun. He isn't stupid, he's just doing some good ole, All in fun trash talking.

Gotta go with my Orange County fam in this one. Vidor needs to see what Liberty did to us. The difference is Vidor will score on those long drives.

Very, very good point Aussie! After the ranting I did about the "Not to lose too bad" offense, Liberty is a great team. I'll also say if they had a passing game, they would be deadly with their size. When I saw their line and backs size, it was like seeing a 90's LaMarque or a Richmond Foster team. Bottom line is they played to our only weakness, size. Of course you can't keep an offense like WOS off the field for all 48 minutes. We literally take seconds to score and Liberty found that out first hand. Some of Jacks throws were amazing. And whomever said our kicker isn't that good or whatnot is wrong. They were getting reps in with a different holder. Timing was off, easy fix. That's why Coach T didn't go for 2, he was trying to get the snapper, holder and kicker in sync. And yes, I might be a little defensive when someone blames everything on the kicker in a miss. Lol! It's a 3 person job. Most don't realize it. CD does need to speed it up though. Starting approach on snap and trusting your holder to have the ball there.

Didn't realize y'all were there. I would come and said hello. Y'all sit on our side?

Uhh, Thanksgiving wasn't even a reason for a day off. We would practice Thanksgiving morning. Seriously!!
-
Never bashed the kids, never will but the coach? He literally played "Not to lose too bad" offense. That's calling uncle in my opinion.

Yep, I was there. I have to say that I'm impressed what the Liberty coach did but also disappointed. Yes, sometimes the best defense is to keep the other teams offense off the field, but who was at that game clearly saw a mentally defeated Liberty. All they wanted to do was not lose bad, not win the game. Go hard or go home, don't play keep away because you throw in the towel 30 seconds into the first quarter. What hurt us is that we score in less than a minute, we don't have 20 minute drives. The Liberty coach knew that and tried some strange wing, slot, veer, pistol T offense. Of course it worked for a little bit, but not long. You play to win, not play to "Not lose that bad".
