Yes, it is the boards having limited funds. WOS has the largest tax base in the county. Since the Robin Hood law, that has eliminated any advantage they would have. No names here but WOS tax money has built other school districts new school buildings. That is what the problem is.

I cant and would never speak for T, but he isnt that type of coach. He is literally "blue collar". Im sure if it was offered he would probably say ok just because it can be used by way more than just the football team. Honestly though, i guarantee you the only time he would use it for football practice is if there was a monsoon outside. If its bearable rain? He will practice outside. Trust me, I know. LOL

see, thats the problem right there. If any parent in this area wants to gripe about a "tough" workout, drive down Newton street to the back of the WOS fieldhouse from August to December. Then they will see what a real "tough" workout is. All you hear from other places is people saying why cant we be like them? Or how do they continue to do it? Well because we didnt call it a "tough" workout at WOS, we just always called it normal practice. Its a mind set people. Plain and simple. #2015Statechamps is what that gets you...... Sorry, off soap box now. LOL. Just irks me when I hear parents gripe about coaches being too hard on their kids.

Im not nor have been on a school board so I was just making a statement. Maybe someone on this site could give the correct info. Im talking about budgeted "playoff travel money". If you use it all up in the regular season, you have to borrow or take from another program to cover it.

Probably because schools have a finite budget for each sports program. If you spend all your travel money during the season what do you have left for playoffs? At leeast I believe the budget is locked.

What about Corsicana? Someone on the other board mentioned them. Or maybe a REG4 team? I think they have a few 5 eam districts.

Go even furthur, 32 games in 2 seasons. His only 2 seasons on varsity so far. Went 1-1 in SC games.

I agree with that statement, however, what Jack Dallas has accomplished is nothing short of a miracle. He was the ONLY one returning in the Offensive side of the ball. He not only was the heart and soul of a "rebuilding" year but just so happened to win a State Championship too. And to top that you could argue, besides the defensive performance in that game, that JD3 took the game over and secured our first SC in 28 years. I'm not sure what the WRS award looks at more, stats or accomplishments though. Also, Jacks numbers weren't exactly "sub par"lol. I mean I think the kid pretty much ownes all the records at WOS now and with that storied program, says a lot!!

Well in all fairness, you dont have to be a homer to see that Silsbee has a kid that needs to be a finalist or even win the offensive award.

Yeah a few of us knew yall werent 100%. Now, if we would have played the QF game, WOS would have won but still would have been awesome for 2 teams out of the same district play for the best out of their region.

Kendrick was a beast! Honestly believe we should have played HF in the QF.

No sure whats more crazy, pretty much WOS' whole team is represented or the fact they are all Juniors and Sophomores. Of course the Seniors we lose are big losses.
