1. I'll go one step further. I honestly believe that the late success that WOS has had is due to the maturation of the line. On both sides, defense and offense. There was a learning curve at the beginning of the season and they finally have it down at the best time. Also, I would bet my paycheck that our downfield blocking is one of the best in the state. Look at our yards after catch. That is directly related to those blocks. It's amazing how this team has become who they are. With the heart or our kids and the unbelievable leadership from our coaches, we have a very special team. I am not predicting a score but I will say that CS is about to see something they haven't seen yet.......a championship caliber team with nothing to lose. That is VERY dangerous.

I know Coldspring has one of the best defense in 3A.I know the saying "defense wins champonships" but I'm here to tell ya that ain't always so.We have gone into big games with top rank defenses and got spanked.A well prepared offensive game plan can defeat a good defense. You walk away  shaking your head wondering how could a team do that to our defense.Just saying... ;) GO MUSTANGS
Boy thats no joke!!  Ennis is the first one that comes to mind....
Paris, Wimberley, ce-king(3 in a row) etc.
 4. Even when I played in the late 90's we were a decent sized 4a school and still had 30 on the sidelines. At WOS the only guarantee you are on Varsity was being a Senior.
Thanks for the correction; Deadline tonight at 10PM All is well that ends well. I guess I will just have to learn how to Point/Counter Point a little better. Sounds fun and I have a lot of time on my hands to play.
I know when you have to meet a deadline its hard to get everything correct. I couldn't do it, lol. Anyways, I think the article is great. Now you have 4 more to write and I hope the forth one says "Stangs prove to be too much for Trojans" if you use that, all I ask is 25 cents and a great fan support from CS.  ;D
 6. I've been staying away from this thread because its very sensitive. I have no dog in this and donot condone nor rationalize any type of fighting, etc. I just wanted to say this.....I personally played LaMarque twice in the late 90's. They had swagger and intimidation from warmups to the fans during the game.Intimidation only and they had the ability to talk because they had definitely walked their walk. Our games were clean and we had zero problems. My statement might not pertain to anything, but just wanted to share that.
Probably. But the same can't really be said for 3adownlow, where WO-S leads the poll with 69%. Guess what? POLLS, STATS, PREVIOUS SCORES, RANKINGS, POTENTIAL D1 STARS, etc. MEAN NOTHING at this point! I remember when WO-S had THE best defense in 4A about a decade ago. We had seven or eight shutouts. Did a LaMarque team that was having a "down year" care? Nope. They pulled the upset.
Yeah, I had a front row seat for that one. We were neck and neck untill the 4thq. They had two running backs that i swear ran 2.4 in the 40. LOL.

I would like to see what they predicted prior to Katy losing 9-6 or whatever it was.
33-14  Katy.Guess they were wrong again.
You see, that's why i hate the BCS computers. Massey is a computation just like the BCS, minus the 2 thirds human vote, so how can they predict a national champion. A computer can never predict a human. Period!!!! Yes, I'm upset. My Cougars should get a chance to play LSU. I almost punched my radio Saturday while listening to an announcer. They were bragging on LSU being the only undefeated teL in the nation........Uhhh, don't think so.

Would be awesome to see some Black and Gold at our game Friday. There were so many people there, we couldn't even go to the bathroom. lol. It was crazy. The stands were completely full, but yet the line for the concession stand was 400 people long at the same time. If anything, just bring the people that were waiting in line for nachos, that will give us about an extra 2000 people. LOL.
I'll be their wearing black and gold. What's the seating capacity for that stadium(not that I will be sitting)
. Not really sure. I believe its around 18-20k.

 15. I have to point this out. His post that was as long as a novel had to be a copy and paste. The grammar and punctuation of it is good. His later posts need a second grade teacher to translate his butchered English.
 16.
wow, I have a hard time thinking we'll score that much. I believe we can get at least two td's up on the board, maybe a third, but we will not kick field goals, we'll go for it every time. Knowing wos's kicker has quite the boot I bet they'll kick field goals if they can't punch it in from the red zone. My prediction is 20 - 13 coldspring. I wonder if wos believes in it's defense enough to go for the td in the redzone instead of just leaving with some points?    I ask this because our defense stiffens in the red zone, but you never know, this may be a moot question if they just score on the first three downs every time. Lord knows we miss about 3 opportunities every game to come away with some points, though.
Great question. Seems like the redzone has been our nemesis all year long. For some reason, we have had problems punching it in. Even from the 2 at times. I.e. Nederland, Friendswood, and Giddings. Giddings was the worst. I believe we were in the redzone 6 times. And inside the 10 yard line each time. Seems CS has had similar problems. The more we talk about this game, the more it looks like teams that could change uniforms and not notice a difference.

 19. Stats mean about as much as your ex wife in a game like this.........nothing. LOL.
 20.
Great sportsmanlike posts skipper, kicker, Socrates, & KvilleKats. It was time for folks to quit beating their chests & take a deep breath. I'm wishing for an injury-free game, & I expect a hard fought but clean game from these two good football programs. I'll see you all in the stands Friday night!
A clean game it will be. Both teams are taught discipline. Don't have to worry there. i tell you what, playing Bullard and facing a team that played with respect and discipline was nice for a change. I really don't want to beat a dead horse, but CS is lucky they didn't hqve to play Columbus. HORRIBLE. Yall could have had a bad situation. I bet they would have tried their hardest to injure Gilbert. Sad but true. There is absolutly no reason to try to hurt a highschool kid. Some of these kids lives are at stake. I'm talking about scholarships, etc. It was bad.
 21. I would he willing to bet that this poll stays at 50/50 untill kickoff Friday. LOL.
 22.
how is wos's o-line?
Was kind of a question Mark at the beginning of the season. Kinda of a carousel. Now they seem to be blowing opponents off the ball. The kids up front are down right nasty at the momment. Looks like a denny's with all the pancake blocks.
 23. I agree with you. I believe all the stat and player talk is due to none of us having a clue to who has the edge. Seems to me this is probably one of the most even matchups in Texas. All the talk is for us fans to hqve something to do untill Friday. If you noticed, all the threads before this one when no one knew if this game would even happen, was a lot of smack and trash. This one is way different. Different in the fact that now the game is here, both teams fans, respect each others team. This is a toss up. I do believe this could be the state championship. I know were all excited for this game and win or lose, you know the kids will give it their all. This is why I love HS football.

For Coldspring Sherman Gilbert 4.5 40yd was listed as the 10th ranked RB in the state all though  Oklahoma State is recruiting him as an inside receiver. He also is listed as the 89th player in the Top 100 list. He was not listed in the Top 100 list. If there are other list please post for our friends we share this board with.
Wow only a 4.5? Dang put him wos and he probably wouldn't even start they got like 30 guys that are way faster ::) ::) ::) ::) ::). On a side note how are you 20 years old and still in high school?
Put it this way, the kid really didn't know his age. I'm not going to get into this again, and the subject has NOTHING to do with this game except for a person that wants to belittle WOS. This is a game thread, not a "make fun of a kid" thread. Especially a very sad situation for him.

I've seen him on tape and looks to me like a true RB. Maybe ok st can see something we don't. Probably why we don't coach there, LOL.
