1. Score could be way, way, worse. Were playing kids in different positions and letting the younguns play positions they will play next season. We've had our new qb Rutledge in for 2 series before half. I'm sure he will play the whole second half. The kid looks great as far as mechanics and fluidity. A couple passes over thrown but he's only a freshman.
2. Yep, and i think they are close to the 4a cutoff. "i think". If I remember correctly, someone told me that they had over a grand now. Could be wrong but I know those Austin 'burbs are exploding with new houses.
3.

lets take a look back in years.west orange stark had the BEST (D) in 3A in the state and a prutty fair (O) to go along with that but what did it get them i belive thay went out in the 3rd round not sure somewhere around there
Sounds familiar.  Balanced offenses and teams that play like machines with minimal penalties typically win the whole enchilada...
Hit the nail on the head...."machine" I.e. wemberley 05. That team was the most disciplined, balanced, and well oiled machine I had ever seen.
4. Why did Carthage shoot up so high? The team they beat wasn't that good were they? And I would give Coldspring the number 1 slot. I haven't seen Tyler play, but I know Coldspring has been thrashing people.
5. Don't forget about Gilmer guys. They beat both Carthage and Henderson this season.
6. I personally like playing different teams every 2 years. It's fun for us fans. I know travel expenses, etc. , are a problem. However, if we just took that out of the equation, I would like to see a WOS predistrict have something like.....liberty hill, manor, stephenville, tivy, etc. Just saying. I like to see different teams from across the state.
7. I was at the fence directly by the play. It was a touchdown. Plain and simple. Also, I thought once a call is made, and our pat team is about to kick, you can't reverse a call. It's not like they have a booth review. They blew it, and many, many others. Both teams got the short end of the stick in this game. I have no idea why these guys are alowed to call anything higher than a POP warner game. I saw the ref literally throw a flag atleast 45 seconds after a play only to waive it off 2 minutes later. Seriously. There was flagrant holding on both teams that weren't called and don't get me started on the pass interference call on WOS.
8.
I don't know what refs you saw, but I know they missed some pretty big calls that should have gone for silsbee. Maybe I wasn't paying attention to the ones your talking about but I saw pass interferences called correctly and the right call on the field goal block. You won so why worry about the refs? WOS has a good team, they just lack discipline.
Lack discipline? What game where you at? We ARE discipline. Silsbee was dominated because of the discipline that we have. If not for the most horrid officiating I hqve ever seen in my life, it would have been a blowout. Now, saying that to you, I appreciate AAW's very objective and classy post. I am proud to beat a good team like silsbee. Looks like this district run will help us in the playoffs finally, we hqve played very hard every game to win. Not just run over 7 teams in a row. It creates determination and yes, DISCIPLINE.
9. WOS used to have escorts while my father was the mayor. When he won a higher office in 94, the new Mayor and council cut it out due budget cuts. Something had to be cut I believe and that was a logical choice imo.
10. You missed one more inaccuracy Rake, enterprise said soccer style kicks with side of foot. That is wrong. We kick the ball on the laces of our shoe. Instead of a conventional kicking with the point of the foot, us soccer stylers use our whole foot.
11.

Just find a way to win, baby. I watched the French Buffaloes do it all the way to a State Title game.
I watched a 2000 WOS team that had very little offense in the regular season find a way win to all the way to the State Title game.  Ozen, Bay City, PNG and Nederland are the regular season games that come to mind.
Beat PN-G 7-0 that year.
Between that year and '97 and '87 were arguably the best defenses WOS has ever had. Looking at this year, were not getting the shutouts, but arent giving many points up. If we can get the offense on par then we could be a team to be reckoned with.
12.
yep speveto i did leave if you have read my pager HURRY HOME WIFE IS SICK  so i packed up in a hurry and left . and by the way sir what is your reason to put that crap up on me :o
Someone must have peed in his cheerios. Lol.
13. Off subject, but i started this thread and posted first. My name is off and my post is gone? Wth? Conspiracy...I can smell it. Dang tea party conservatives.....lol.
14. Sometimes its not the team that scores 50 points a game to be worried about,....its the ones that somehow find a way to win in any circumstance. Seen many teams over the years make a huge run in the playoffs with barely winning their games in season.
15. Wow!!!! What a game. Nock down drag out. Bridgecity is the real deal. They have a great team and I sure wish we could have Menard, Dishon and number 11. WOS would be unstoppable. Great game to both teams. Go Stangs!!!! Championship defense!!!
16.
This one is going to be easy to pick the winner WOS adjust their defense and denies the BC offense BC can't stop them on special teams......WOS wins WOS can't adjust and we continue going up and down the field BC stops them on special teams......BC wins
Lol! That pretty much sums it up. Covered both ways. lol. I agree with you 100%. In my opinion, it all falls on WOS offense keeping the ball. What did we have? A total of 3minute t.o.p.?
17. well, were getting there. We just keep shooting ourselves in the foot this season. We drive the whole field and fumble in the redzone. We have to fix this. Anywho, I Tell you what, I really like the way Menard plays. Talk about a smart qb. I think he would be great in college with his decision making but i know he's going baseball.
18. What would be smart for uil is to make a 6a and somehow combine 3a and 4a. In my opinion, not a whole lot of difference. Talking about numbers, not talent. Basically, 4a would have a wider spectrum in enrollment so it would be like 3a anyway because you still keep 5a. Just adding another class for those schools that hqve more kids than most colleges. Lol.
