I bet my paycheck that he will have a bull horn and still yell at the refs. i will give him one quarter before he leaves the stands and gets on the field. :D Or, heck be in the pressbox with a headset on that coach Thompson can give to the refs after a questionable call. When youve done something for so long, how in the world can you just stop and be a spectator? This is going to be good. :D
That alone would be worth the price of admission. I envision Hooks walking around the stands shaking hands and working the crowd at the first game. MANY people will want to visit with him and he'll talk with all of them.
your correct. I would pay triple to see how he reacts. Its going to be hilarious! There is NO WAY he will just sit there. That is impossible for that man. He has to be around the game. he might try to tame himself, but aint gonna happen. I believe I said it will only take him a quarter to get out of the stands. Well, now Im thinking more like after the national anthem. lol Mrs. Hooks only chance to sit by him is to fill him full of xanax. lol :D And that still probably wont work.

I hope I am wrong. He will be next in line for AD at WOS if he would just stick around and let Thompson be his mentor. If he doesnt get the EC job, I see him going to Texas High with Barry Norton in Texarcana. Man I hope im wrong. Toby has a gift to connect with some of these kids that have troubled pasts. But I wish him the best and you should NEVER fault a man for trying to better himself.
I wouldn't close the head coaching door on Coach Foreman for next season, either. As is usually the case, we haven't seen the last of coaching positions that will open up, both here, in Houston and throughout the state, even after the East Chambers job is filled. I saw a report that the North Forest ISD is currently looking for a new HC/AD.
he's not crazy enough to go to North Forest.
I wouldnt say that just yet. Toby is a competition, challenge type person. I bet he would perform better as a coach with a team that is a "hopeless cause". Its the fire in him that can turn things around quick. i guarantee you he wont back down to a challenge or nay sayers. Hes a problem solver, hes a WOS MUSTANG! thats what we do. 8)
Just because a person has been their longer, more years, does not mean he is a better person/coach. Longer or older does not always mean better. A 30 yr. old man said he heard that the older you get the better you could fight. He said he whipped an 80 yr. old man and believed he could have whipped him if he had been 100.
That makes zero sense. ???
Sounds like he has the goods. I hope he has two more awesome seasons. The crappy thing about his sohomore year was that 2 PAT's were blocked but us kickers still get a miss. I think that they should add another statistic. Makes,Misses, and Blocks. I had that happen to me alot. Bad feeling when that happens. Everyone needs to remember that it takes 3 people to kick a fieldgoal. Snapper, holder and kicker. Good luck to him

Thats not bob Davies is it? The Notre Dame coach from the 90's? I could be way wrong on this. Also, there were quite a few college coaches on there. As for the number of applicants, have any of you who have seen aplicants for an AD job, was the list long , short, or average? AAW, you seem to know alot, what do you think?
That is not Bob Davies. As for the length of the list, I would say it's above average for a 3A school. These lists always will get some names who have no business applying in the first place.
The list not seen.... is better than the one on paper.
Im sure there were many more. Im with some people on here that the list didnt make me qurious. i respect the fact that some didnt want their names public for fear of losing their current job. Especially with all mthe budget cuts going around. Think about it, if your current employer saw your resume on the company printer, or on a job board, I bet your job is in jeopardy. I just wanted to make sure that thompson got the job. The Super., the comitteee, and the board made the right call and I commend them for that.

We in a tornado warning!!!!!!!!!!!
kicker replied to Mr. Buddy Garrity's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
UHHH, where at? Dont even see clouds over here. And a warning means that one has been sighted. Im guessing you are in DFW area. -
Man, I dont want Toby to leave WOS he has an unbelievable offensive sceme. However, hes a friend and I respect him. He wants to better himself by getting a HC/AD position, then go get it brother. His ambition and win-or-nothing attitude is what makes him such a great coach. Also, what he does for his players is uncanny. That guy has paraded kids around(On his own money with his own car) trying to get them scholarships (after they graduated of couse). He is a players coach with a WOS dicipline mind. Its a win win. But, man I hope he doesnt leave us. With him at OC and Coach Thompson as HC/AD and maybe MARK Foreman as DC here at WOS, whew, we would have the best staff in the state!!

It normally meant that you were in deep doo doo when he would say that. :D
You see that Grin on his face when he said "We're going to work EVERYDAY" :D
To this day it still makes me want to run for the hills when he says something like that. LOL. For me, the comment was mostly "Thib, come see me real quick son". Or when I would come in the back door of the fieldhouse before practice and he would be standing at the door and just smile at me then would say "Got dang son, what you been doing?" man my rear still hurts. Thank God we had those cold wooden benches. :D
He was waiting with the P.O.W Peice Of The Wood. :D
Close Coop, but no Cigar. It was P.O.T., Piece of the Tree. lol Ohhh buddy. it even had a baseball grip on it. and customized with colors and writing. They took pride in POT dicipline. :D

I will stand by my ipinion of Colbert. Everything i heaqrd about the man before this coaching thing was positive and I said that in the beginning. He is a very hands on Super and demands dicipline and excellence wich is EXACTLY what we needed. And , Hill, at the helm of the school. These three(Colbert, Thompson, Hill) will get WOCCISD back in place. Congrats coach T and Francis. Im so happy for yall!!!!

Will WO-S and LC-M ever consolidate??
kicker replied to Mr. Buddy Garrity's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
I believe a merger is immenant. Not the way some would think though. Probably disband the two school districts and creat a large OISD. or WOCLCMDCISD. lol. D is four double. Or maybe Orangefield, LCM and WOS would become OISD -

Coach T? Those are his workouts. :D
:D :D I couldnt handle that Mustang Mile :D
Of course you could. Here is a funny story. When i was a freshman player there, I was fortunate enough to get info from a senior player. See, what thompson didnt tell the freshman is that you had to always beat your time from previous years. And folks, were talking about the mustang mile numerous times a year. Before it was all over, you had run it probably 15-18 times in 4 years. So what did I do? Took the advice. I ran my first Mustang mile as slow as I could without the coaches catching on. So by the time i was a Senior, I could beat my past times. ;D Now, I think i just ruined this for next years freshmen. Sorry, Coach T, it had to come out sometime. ;D
Being a kicker I'am not surprised you probably had on two different kinda of shoes! ;D Just pokin fun couldnt pass it up.
:D :D Nope, always wore same shoes, always wanted to be balanced.. i was a 6'2" 200lb "tackling kicker" never a safety on kickoffs. I was known for laying people out on kickoffs. just ask some folks. oh, and ran a 4.4 sec 40yrd. And before anyone asks why I didnt play another position, its hard to get a spot when you have 3 linebackers and two safties that were all distict and all state. lol

Another story....hope this doesnt hurt his chances, but his offseason was BRUTAL, but you could go through any tough spot in life if you just look back at what you did as a Mustang. During offseason, we would have "burnout" days in the weightroom. All varsity players had football right before lunch. A burnout day was do as many reps you could on a specific body part, upper or lower depending on the day) without it falling off. Youy would get done, go try to take a shower(arms wouldnt work) then try to get dressed(with arms not working) and go to the luch room only to try and eat a burrito with your face(arms no worky) :D Man, You know how hard it is to eat something without the use of your arms? :D ;D

WO-S SHOULD Release List Of Applicants
kicker replied to KFDM COOP's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
A select few seem to have a hidden agenda. i mean come on people. 99% of everyone says Thompson. Can we get some type of feedback or transparency? Or is the tranparency when they announce it? ::)
