You are showing you are nothing more than a bandwagon Mustang fan who wasn't here for the kids and truly don't care about them. So if Cornell doesn't get the job, you can follow him wherever he goes. This is a hard decision for everyone who's having to make the decision and although it might be a no brainer for some of you, there are stipulations that needs to be met to get the school and program to the next level and the next head coach needs to be willing to do what is required of the job or they don't need to be at Wo-s. It's the same if a player or student doesn't want to do what's required they need to leave. Now I like both coach Thompson and Toby, but I care mostly about these kids and this school which I graduated from. There are some changes that need to be made and they will be made. If coach Thompson gets the job, then I will be happy, just like I will if Toby gets it, but they both need to be willing to do whatever is asked of them to move this school and program forward in the right direction. All of the community isn't leaning one way or the other. Opinions vary, I can tell you that. There are pros and cons with each candidate. So all of you who are willing to leave, all I need to ask you is, do you need help packing because we don't need fans like you. Don't let the door hit you in the behind on the way out. This school will be fine regardless.
Whovere you are need to take you foot out of your mouith. You come on here bashing some of the most loyal fans that WOS has. Obviously because you became subjective instead of objective, you have a bone to pick with situation. i dont know who you are, and frankly dont care but dont come on here and bash us when you are a newbie. you want to call us bandwaggoners? I have been a fan since 1980, yeah the year i was born. I also played for WOS and have continued to support them my whole adult life. People like you have no business getting on a board bashing people. Give your opinion? Yes Bash us? No If you had the respect for Cornell or Toby you would understand what we are talking about. The ones that are saying this have reliable information of what is really going on in the situation. Its like something BISD would do. So you, my friend, Leave the board or whatever your mouth crapped out.
First of all, I'm not a newbie. I've been on this board many times before. I guess I struck a nerve and your feelings was hurt because of what I said, but some of you are going to have a serious stroke about this. It doesn't matter how much you kick and scream and harrass people on their phone, the process is going to go forward and the best man will get the job. As I stated, the opinions on this situation varies, so the committy has too listen to everyone. I do have first hand information on what's going on so don't assume I don't. I was also an athlete at Wo-s, so try again. So maybe you need to get off the board for a while so you can calm your nerves before you have a heart attack. As I said, if coach Thompson gets the job then I will be happy as well with Toby. It's not right for you and others to bash the people who are making the decision and question their cridentials just because the process isn't moving fast enough for you or your afraid things won't go as you want. This is a hard decision whether you think it should be or not. Some of you are on here acting like kids. For the record, I don't have a child on the team. I have a nephew on the team whos in the eighth grade and he's a starter so no, I'm not a disgruntled parent, but Ive seen alot and heard alot. I'm not leaving the board because your feeling are hurt because of what I said. If you can't handle it then maybe you need to leave and calm your nerves. You guys complain about women whinning, but geez, some of you sound like some little woosies.
Wow, i love the name calling and put downs. Thats real mature. First of all I didnt call anyone, much less harass them. Second, I havent bashed anyone. if you READ my posts you will see that i have defended our Super. and think some people are paniking for no reason. Obviously your getting confused with who posted what. And if you want to single me out, how come you are the only poster that hasnt defended the fact that Coach Thompson should get it. There are posters from our rivals that think he is a no brainer for the job.I also think toby is a great canidate for the job but is not ready. Best case scenario would be for coach Thompson to get it and toby be the AD in waiting. My feelings are not hurt, im not going to have a heart attack, and will not get off the board. i have a right to my opinion, but do not say I "bashed" anyone because I did not and never have. You are the one that seems to be getting upset. i guess us "woosies" ( great word by the way) should not have an opinion to who is the best fit for the job when the board WANTS us to give them feedback.

I won't take you seriously, man! :D :D
Per a VERY VERY reliable source one of them was contacted ;) he didnt want the job. and it wasnt Sedberry. ;)
you are correct. And also the one that was contacted gave their opinion. ;) I keep saying it, and I will untill im proven wrong, Colbert is a great guy. Of all the sources i have heard from about him, they all have great things to say about him. Now, I am understanding of people getting upset about them outside of WOS for applications. As I understand it, you have to post it. If there is more than one person looking at the job from within, UIL mandates an interview process of x number of people. you also have to take in consideration the EOE rules. I honestly think that our Super. is just crossing all t's and dotting all i's. Honestly, you want a fair and transparent leader in school, government, etc. I hope I am right about this, but i believe that the decision is already made and the path to get there is just being done by the book.
No harm meant, just the way the BISD taxpayers are going balistic for some reason. Dont have a dog in that fight, but of all the sites Ive been on, including KFDM, the tax payers are very angry with the way the district is spending money and not listening to the people. Thats all. Why you ask? Had to edit some spelling, lol. My typing isnt exactly sufficient, lol.
Bad, I disagree with the D-1 scholarship portion of your post. Beaumont and Memorial send way more kids to D-1 colleges per year than WOS.
your correct, but if you actually READ the post, he says by size. We dont have 2000 kids, we have 600. From the past post on other threads I see you like to stir the pot. I have no problem with it, it fun. Im just saying please read the whole post before response. That comparison is laughable. Sorry, but it is.
The school board election is where change needs to be made, most people haven't figured that out. As far a people being in positions because of other things other than ability, well that has been going on with the program for a while. To much putting on friends and family and passing over people who are probably more qualified, so don't assume by what your hearing that, these people you are referring to are only being put in these positions because of anything other than ability. It's giving these people the opportunities that they were constantly being passed over for. As I stated, I love coach Thompson. I don't want my comments to leave people thinking I have anything against him. I think he is a great coach, but as I stated there are some things that the new coach needs to be willing to do in order to bring this school and program to the next level. There are alot of good candidates and we want a great coach, but we also want someone who is going to care about every sport, every kid and give every kid the opportunity to succeed on and off the field. Kids don't need to be ran off from the school because they don't fit the stereotype of what a mustang player should look like. Every kid should get the opportunity to shine on the team , not just the player that you looked at when they were in the seventh grade and you decided, this is going to be my starter in high school...make them earn it, because this kid might not have gotten any better since, but the one you overlooked back then might have, but you will never notice because you are too busy having this picture of what this kid is going to be in your head that you can't see the superstar on the sidelines. This isn't directed at coach T, but there have been some of that going on. By the way, I'm a female.
Once again, foot in mouth. You are making my "little Jimmy" point accurate. You say that kids get "runn off" because they dont fit the "look"? That is funny right there. the kids that leave, leave because they werent mentally tough enough to play at WOS. look and see where those kids are in life now. You probably dont want to know. I see you are one of those people that believe everyone wins and everyone plays. Well guess what, thats not life, thats 6 yr old basketball. Wow. i cant believe my "little jimmy" logic was just proved. I love it. You want to know where "little jimmy" schools go? No where. These kids at WOCCISD deserve the BEST coach for the job and the BEST opportunity to have dicipline instilled in them so they can succeed in life and understand that you dont always win. I will always support the kids. However, if the WOCCISD board doesnt have changes then I wont support them. These people are paid by our tax dollars. They represent the community and students at WOS, by bringing in an outsider i honestly believe it will hurt the kids. That is...if there will be any left at the school.

Im not sure if he has a clue of the ramifications if he passes up Cornel. There will be a Mass Exodus from Mustang land. Mr. Colbert could turn this school into 1A with one decision. Like I said before, I have heard nothing but great things about the man. hopefully were all over reacting. Cornell Thompson deserves that job. He IS Mustang football. Look what happened when he left in 99 season. We had one of the worst years ever. He comes back in 2000 and we go to the BIG game. Surely someone with intelect could rationalize that argument, surely. Like I said before, if he doesnt get it, Im gone. Reason being is the respect I have for that man and what he molded us into for adulthood. Put it this way, when I had my first college practice I thought it was a joke. i thought, surley college has to be harder than highschool? HAHA was i mistaken. Even Pro ball was way easier than the WOS program. That dicipline and work ethic that he demands is reason alone to give him the job. Why in the**** are we even having to talk about this??
That Lincoln game was epic :D :D :D :D :D
That has to be the most embarrasing loss in WOS history. But, Lincoln had a great team that year. Wasnt Shaunderik Charles the runningback?

Congrats. Great parents like you are what caused your sons to want to protect the people of this great nation and to put others ahead of them. Makes me proud just thinking about it.
No, not Colbert, but y'all are getting warm. Reports over the weekend that I got indicate that Colbert's media tour looks like it was merely to lower some guards and that some of the "qualities" that he and his blue ribbon committee are seeking have NOTHING to do with coaching ability. Those that wish to dismiss on the basis that Colbert is a "personable" guy or knows all about sports, well that is your right to do so. However, those that wish to see Cornel Thompson as the next head coach need to take a big interest and contact the folks at the WOCCISD and let those folks know that they are being watched.
Grad, your scaring me. Is there some information that we need to know about whats really going on? Please tell me that this is not going to be a bait and switch job. Cornel deserves that job and evryone in the state knows that. In my opinion, there is no way that the board and super would make that huge of mistake. how could they? Do they understand what would happen if he didnt get the job? I will be the first to say that I wont be watching the Mustangs anymore. The attendence at the games would be nil.

That doesnt mean the coach is bad, he just doent want to be a puppet to parents and over zealous schoolboards. I dont believe in bashing anyone, especially when we dont know the story.
I find it very strange some people wanted him out from Post after going 8-4. then top that with a 3-7 season last year. I really wanna know what was going on there. Now with him leaving LM i can totally understand that :D
I would be willing to bet that the (little Jimmy) parents put pressure on the schoolboard to get rid of him because "little jimmy" didnt get to play, or the practices and/or offseason was too hard for them. Funny how all the great teams in this state have no politics. They let the coach coach. These kids need to understand that hard work pays off. When you become an adult, not everyone wins. Its scarry thinking about this next generation of kids. Im not sure if they have the dicipline and work ethic that was instilled in us when we played.
wow! If Toby gets it who takes over as the OC at WO-S??
Eddie Dyer. Hes head coach material. WOS is lucky to have so many head coach material coaches. Toby is an ex teammate and a friend to me. By saying that, I wish him all the luck in the world, I am just a little selfish wanting him to stay here. But a real man is always trying to better themselves, and that is what he is doing. Wow, just imagine the rivalry that will emerge if Toby gets it. WOS and Giddings have had a rivalry going for a few years now and if toby gets the job then that rivalry just steped up 2 notches. Would be bittersweet though.

TD, the magazine was the Texas Coaches Association mag. not sure if you can buy it. Think its only sent to coaches. it might be somewhere on the Texas A&M website. I believe it was an entrance essay for the University.
