Has Brenham Really Played Anybody?
kicker replied to BL33DPURPLE's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
I'm stating how good Brenham is. Dobbins was out for 3 games and has played 2 Qtrs (8 carries) in the last two games. Those numbers do not mean anything. Montgomery offense could have run the stats up but have stopped at HALFTIME. Believe what you want. The playoffs will be a judge for the future.
RCOLE, what team is your helmet on your avatar? Been trying to figure that out. -
Happy Bday Brother.

PLAYOFF TEAMS...who makes you nervous?
kicker replied to kcat-fan's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
Brenham, El Campo, Friendswood can win on any night...nothing out of 20-4A scares me, wait a minute, nope, nothing...
I wouldnt underestimate Central my friend. -

Responding on all this K'ville WOS bickering, lets just both make a great playoff run and then settle it on the field in December. ;)
we all know this is a heck of a matchup every time they meet....if they meet again this year after both teams have improved their game...it will be battle to the end!!! IMO. ;) good luck to both
Ive posted this on another thread, but IMO, if we do get lucky and have a chance to meet each other again, I honestly think the winner will go on to take it all.

Orangefield has to win by 5 to be in. Being an Orangefield transplant now, I hope they do. You can call me a Muscat or even Muscatpie. Me WOS alum, daughter is at Orangefield, and stepson is at Deweyville. :D

Who is better Kirbyville or Carthage?
kicker replied to Bulldog#2's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
Havent seen Carthage play, but seen K'ville. K'ville plays Dicipline, methodic football. And their kids are huge. Being a Homer, I would say K'ville, But cant predict without seeing Carthage play. -
2006... don't know where it was played though. 60-0 WOS
Believe the game was played at Humble....I can remember going down 1960. That road has got to be the busiest in the nation!!! You go all the way down(almost to 59) then take a left at a Y in the road to get to the stadium. There is, or was, a Conoco?? station at the Y. Believe the road was "Business" hwy1960 -
The Bayou Bowl: OF vs BC for a playoff spot!!
kicker replied to Bobcatfan4life's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
ok, my head is spinning with all this, +5 -5 /5 x PI square root of 3, stuff. I love three teams getting into the playoffs, but wasnt it much easier back in the day when only the district champion made it to the playoffs? ??? now that I said that, im trying to figure out if WOS has made good runs in the playoffs without being champion......werent we the runner up in 88? or 2000? Or maybe in 88 it was still a 1 team per district goes to playoffs....hell, i dont know. lol. good luck to the Cards and the Cats. OC is behind all of OC! -
WOS makes it a couple rounds then wont go any farther... year after year yall say WOS is state bound... not gonna happen, not this year.
Sour grapes from a beaten foe. LOL!!!

The material things that were stolen is horrible, but can be replaced. The video of a fathers lost son can never be replaced. If you are the thief and somehow read this board, please, please, atleast return the tape or memory card in the camera. This sucks.
I agree with returning it but my guess is that it won't happen. As a second option maybe there was a scout team there that could give Mr. Garrett a copy of the tape. Did the Mustangs tape that game?
It wasnt just the game, it was alot of personal footage of him with the family.(accourding to the news) Im sure he can get the games back, but not the family stuff. This is just sad, after all they have been through. Some stupid crackhead gets this stuff so he can buy a $20 rock. What has this world come to? I hope they contacted all the pawnshops.

Please kill this thread. It is getting old. I do understand what everyone is saying but good grief enough is enough. The game is over and in the history book. Nobody has said this in so many words but plain and simple some of you think this is a race thing. Let it go because I promise you it is never about race between the kids who actually fight the battle on the field. Grownups can learn from kids just not when it comes to money. ;D ;D
I don't know that it is a race thing, particularly since all of those who have commented, including the person who was thrown out, are not minorities.
Who is considered minorities? Look guys I am not a racist and never have been but what is a racist? Why would you post on this thread by so called non- minorities who call out an entire city over the actions from one or two cops. You guys commented that WOS was treated differently because basicly you have more African Americans than Bridge City. No you did not say that but you did not have too. Words are powerful. Not taking up for what happend. I do agree with some of the things you commented on. Just don't think that because it was WOS things was different. Lets think about it maybe at every Bridge City home games there is more cops on the vistors side. Just trying to look at at the big picture not one side.
If you look at what I said, I in now way said this was BC's fault. I even went out of my way to say it wasnt. Im with Gasilla, Im done with it.

BTW, thanks for kinda outing me...lol... :D
You have to come out of the closet sometime or another..... :D :D ;D -
i didnt mean to put BC down in my post if thats what it seems like. I was just giving my side of the story of what I saw. I in no means am trying to implicate BC fans at all. They obviously had nothing to do with this and probably had no clue about it. Just want to clear that up.
I think that, consistently, the kids on the field respect each other, much as the gladiators of old respected each other. THey knew that they would have to battle each other, even though they may have been friends in the training arena. So, who doesn't get respected? 1. Loudmouths on this site that ran their mouths at work the past week, who hate the tase of crow feathers in their mouths. They have to let thier frustration out somewhere, so they come on this site, and stir the pot. They can't wear their letterman's jackets anymore, but they play the game in their brains, and there, they always win. 2. People who mistake a football game for crime city central. Y'all know what I am talking about... 3. People who can't seem to understand that all of this is a GAME! It's not a religion, it's not a fight between kingdoms, where one must hate the other side CONSISTENTLY to show how much they belong. In this football season, there was no lines respected when one of their own, a gladiator, fell on the field. BC, LC-M, Orangefield, Vidor, all of us came together to honor that young man, and still honor him. To those who forget the lesson of Reggie, then, maybe you need to learn what respect is...all the young men in pads who play the game know what it is...they show that respect to each other...it's time we followed the example.
Great post Hector. I do have one thing, I bet I can still fit in my letterman jacket. ;D -
Could Kirbyville Beat any SETX 5A school?
kicker replied to BADSANTA's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
Yes, i do see the games being competative, but no wins. Its too hard to beat a team that has 3rd and 4th string guys to give the starters rest. We(WOS) like yall, never field large numbers on the field, but you know wht they say, its not the size of the dog in the fight its the fight in the dog......or whatever....might have butchered that one. lol :D -
