Predictions? With this being LCM's first game and WOS having a win under their belt, does it make a difference?

Man, that sucks for Bellow. he looked like a great athlete last night. I pray he's ok. Good news is that if it is something major, he has plenty of time to heal before baseball. Hate to say something like this, but better the first game and not the last. Hopefully its not bad at all though!

Why attack the Coops? Im sorry that by dominating WOS in the first half is yalls superbowl. I would guarantee you that if this was a regular game, it would be a very, very different outcome. Just because yall dont want to hear Coops opinion, it makes them hate Vidor? Thats funny.

Okay, this is getting rediculous. It was a scrimmage. Yes, Vidor looks great for this year. Who cares about the score? It was productive for BOTH teams. It showed Vidor does have the potential to do what Dave C. says and also shows that WOS has some improvements to make. Why in the ---- does this scrimmage translate into a district championship or playoffs. IT IS PRACTICE!

I although being a homer sometimes, don't get into scrimmages that much either. I just dont see a win/loss significance in a scrimmage. Its not about the score, but putting people in the right place and letting the underclassmen earn their stripes. Who cares what the score is. Its about team education and improvement.

I doubt the # of athletes at WOS has changed much regardless of their drop in enrollment over the years. They are as athletic and talented as teams come. Well when i was on Varsity, 96,97,98, we aleays suited out about 22-28 kids. Coach didnt care about numbers, he put the best 11 on the field. We were a good sized 4A school also. We were above 1000 kids. We were so in shape, we would have guys going both ways for all four quarters.

when we fumbled the ball the coach would beat us with a 2 by 4. i think sleeping with the ball was the sissy`s way. :D Man, reminds me of WOS footbal. haha, except the 2x4 had holes in it to reduce drag while hitting your rear.

Thats not ugly at all. I am an alumni and avid supporter and also want to know where the money goes. Its getting rediculous. CHANGE needs to be made. If a "government" is not working, then new leaders are elected. I say government in quotation due to the fact that a school board is a type of government.

Our GM went to the schoolboard meeting after notifying them he wanted to speak at the meeting. They said sure. Well, he sat through the whole meeting and when it was his turn to address the board, they said meeting adjourned. They didn't want to hear what he had to say and ended the meeting. Everyone else got to speak but him. I guess its a socialist schoolboard. ha ha

Whoa Kicker!!! I just assumed y'all were renting DR Hooks Stadium. That's incredible! I am not sure how much the district charges, or if they charge at all, the youth football league here in Silsbee to let those guys play at Silsbee's old stadium Kirby Memorial but I am pretty sure it is not $2100. I'll ask around to find out. Oh yeah, the middle school field, not the HS. And we are NPO, and try to give back to the community. We also asked them if we could maintain the field and bleachers for them, and they said no. I believe we pay 600 for them to paint the field then another $600 for them to clean the field and yada yada yada. Its down right ridiculous. Then they didn't even mow the field one game, but guess what we still had to pay for the field maintenance.

Ive just had enough. I am good friends with most of the coaches at WOS, and we as alumni and fans need to stand up for them. I dont understand why the schoolboard is so against athletics. I want to know how much revenue comes from the home games. I bet its pretty sustancial. I do know that 99% of that money does not go to the football department. Does that make sense to any of you? The dilema with the field for our semi-pro football team is just the tip of the iceburg. If the mismanagement of this district doesnt stop, then they are destined for the state to take over. No-one wants that. Please lets get some folks with the best intrest of the kids to run for the schoolboard and fix the dire situation. And somebody please explain to me why they charge $2100 to use a junior high field for semi-pro football.

I know this isnt HS football related, but the WOCCISD needed to get exposed for this. Im trying to figure out what they are doing with the money.

Do to the rediculous amount of money West Orange school district is charging, we will be playing our next home game in Lake Charles. We are working with the LCM school district to play our home games there starting in two weeks. The WOCCISD were charging us $2100 per game! Yes thats correct. Then they turned the water off to our fieldhouse last home game and would not refund the $800 they charge us for facility use. This just goes to show just how the West Orange school district is. They could care less about the community and the athletics in the area in a whole. We could probably rent Reliant stadium for how much they were charging us. We were just trying to give the community of Orange something positive to do on a Saturday night and this is what we get. We didnt want to leave the area, but we will do what we have to to keep playing. We have a great team. If anyone may see a WOCCISD trustee, thank them for being one of the worst run government entities in the world. Just ask the WOS athletic department, the track budget was cut a few days after they won the STATE CHAMPIONSHIP. Not to mention the football program fights just to get ample equiptment for the kids. They wont even give them money for knee braces that could save a kid from a carreer ending injury.

I disagree, they DO have talent. Bad thing is that since the demise of the football program, all the athletes are playing Baseball only. Im sure with Crouches return, the kids will play both sports again.

I don't see that being out of the question, but there is ALOT of damage controll to do over there. I played for coach Crouch and know he is a great one. It wouldnt surprise me if they compete for a playoff spot, but district champs is going to have to be an instant revamp of the whole program. Ive heard for years that they have the "Why isnt little Johnnie playing" mentality over there instead of putting the best eleven on the field. If he can overcome that huge obstacle, then maybe they do have a chance. They have the athletes, just havent had the coaching or dedication.

We win district every year in basketball and never get shown love like this....See my point kicker? Im not jealous at all honestly if any school should be getting all the hype in football i think it should be central Im sorry, I thought this was a football thread my bad. ;D

Coach Crouch is a great man and will probably turn some heads with the Bears this season.
