  1. Its going to take a lot more than Coach Brooks to de-throne WOS. I just dont see it being a possibility. Good luck
  2. I played arena ball with Tobias. The kid was good!
  3. As far as the most feared, there are teams that you are about to play or know you have to play that make you have butterflies in your stomach. Im talking about that feeling as a player that you get in the pre-game that says Holy *&%$ these guys are the real deal. I know we (WOS) have that effect on people. I will say this, I have played in one game that I had that feeling. Throughout my varsity carrer, we always had the "shock" factor on our opponents except for one game in my opinion. It was the '97 season playoffs for the regional final, I believe we were ranked #2 in state behind....LaMarque! All season we knew that we would see them. We were just hoping someone would knock them off. They had our number for the past few years, and probably single handily kept us from state those years. I remember in pre-game, it looked like their fans were there for a college game. There were thousands of them! They were all chanting "We are Lamarque Cougars Wooh". I remember saying to myself...here we go! I kicked off on the opening play of the game and pinned them inside the 5. We were pumped, hell we had the #1 defense in the state, what could go wrong? Next play....90 yrds for a touchdown!!! With all this said, I would have to say the most feared team in the 90's for any clasification would be the LaMarque Cougars. I know they are not SETX, but as far as the "Fear factor" they were the poster child.
  4. NO!!!!! every time we go to play, there is a tropical storm or a hurricane! Lets just leave it the way it is! haha
  5. Why? We've done it every year since '85. School size doesnt matter that much. I know of plenty 5A teams WOS could beat right now. When we were in 4A we still suited under 40 or less players each game.
  6. My Freshman year we were garbage!!!!(95) Then when we got to Varsity, we ran the table our Junior and Senior years. 10-0 both seasons. So thats how much you can believe that.
  7. Well, with us and Silsbee, we should see a good run in the playoffs. If only Jasper could get it together, it would be like the district of the 80's. Domination!
  8. and Tyler Thibodeaux....won three games with last second fieldgoals. LoL -went to college for free LoL -was an NAIA freshman all-american LoL -played Arena football. LoL - has better things to do than insult people on a forum. So go put your little headress on and "warrior" around. Maybe oneday you could be afilliated with a winning program. Thankyou, and have a great day.
  9. Shure is wierd weather up here in North Texas. One minute the forcast is for clear skys, then you hit the refresh button and they say winter storm warning. hahaha Almost as bad as the weather men in SETX. ;D
  10. Well her is the deal with WOS. My sophomore year(96) we went 7-5. That offseason, we lost most of our Defense and most of our offense. We maybe had 2 return on offense and 3 on defense for the (97) season coming up. Evrybody had us picked last or second to last in district for that year. What happened??? Well we went 10-0 with like 5 shutouts and made it to the Regional final and lost to Lamarque( the eventual state champ). Not to mention the #1 Defense in the state. The next year? we went 10-0 again with the #1 Defense in the state again. DONT EVER COUNT WOS OUT!!!!!
  11. Actually, they were pretty dang good at Baseball and Soccer when I used to play at WOS. Im not sure about girls sports, but they always had HOT ones!!! :-* ;D
  12. Hawk, Im not trying to pick a fight with you, but to say football doesnt bring in more money is rediculous!! Obviously you havent been to a WOS game. We sit more people on a non hyped game, than the three other schools in Orange's gyms combined. I cant beleive what you say. Heck, i played against LCM in '97 that had 12000 plus people at that game. Name me one highschool around here that sits 12000 people in a gym. I smell a football program hater. Its so obvious! Basketball is only iportant in Kansas, or Kentucky. This is TEXAS and this is where FOOTBALL RULES!!!!
  13. Hey, its snowing up here in Dallas. I woke up this morning and walked outside and......Snow (lots of it). I woke my wife up and was running around like a little kid at christmas. She said yay and went back to sleep.(party pooper) haha Its supposed to snow all day and all night. Coop, we need you up here in Dallas. The weather stations said it wouldnt snow and also be sunny today. They get paid for this? :
  14. Hawk, I am not that old. I didnt lift on game days, and wasnt forced to. It was optional from the coaches during the off-season period. I would do some light work, but not anything heavy duty. I also played Soccer as well. Football off season made so much better at other sports. I wouldn't have made all the improvements in strength, speed, and agility by being in any other sports class in the mornings. Sure it was hard work, but it paid off in the long run. Thats my point, not really an argument.
  15. I am proof of FB off season. My freshman year, I ran about a 4.9/ 5.0 second 40yrd dash. I was also not very strong. I could maybe kick a 30 yard fieldgoal. I also was an excellent Baseball and Soccer player. I wasnt asked if I wanted to go through the other sports workouts during the school period. I was TOLD that i was in Football offseason. Remember I was a Baseball player First, not to mention just being a fieldgoal kicker. Coach Thompson said that it would benefiet every sport I played.....well it did! Two-a-days arrived, I was bigger, much stronger (40+ yrd fieldgoals) and I also ran a 4.48 in the 40yrd dash. I had a great year in football and carried that over to baseball. I am a firm believer in football offseason. It makes you a better athelete. Here is the funny part. During the "football" offseason, I cant remember doing anything "football". All we did was work on speed, agility, strenghth, and mental toughness. Unless you letter in underwater basket weaving, I think this helps ALL sports.
  16. kind of funny that no one has mentiond WOS. I think they will pick up where they left off this year. Another run through district undefeated and go deep in the playoffs.
  17. I dont think you can say 8 out of 11 is luck. They are good!!! i know, Ive played them. They were a thorn in our side for a few years.
  18. Let Deon Beasley play offense!!!! Ive seen the recruiting woes for Texas. They say there is no depth chart for QB next year. I say, let Beasley see some snaps. We all know how explosive he is, so why restrict him to defense. I say let him return kicks, play reciever, or even be a back up QB. Just my opinion, but I think it would be smart.
  19. Im gonna go see the Barry Norton show tonight.
  20. Celina/Canton.. in Garland. I work in Garland.
  21. By the way, I will be sporting my flying WOS what ever game I go to. 8)
