  1. If CE King scored 35 on Galena Park they are in trouble. Bh will kill Galena park if that is the case. CE King is terrible.
  2. I went to school with Bink. He was 1 or 2 years behind me. He was a heck of a baseball player, even in little league. He and classmate Jimmy Badgent have both made a name for themself in the outdoors. I would love to be able to make my living fishing and hunting.
  3. This is the Baytown Sun article in the paper today: Barbers Hill The Eagles will put their 3-0 mark on the line Friday in their first district game in 4A. The Hill will host a Forest Brook team, which enters the contest with a 1-2 record on the season. “They are very athletic,†BH head coach Don Price said. “They like to spread it out and get the ball to their athletes in space. It’s hard to tell how we match up with them but I think we match up ok.†Forest Brook enters the game averaging a little over 248 yards a game and will face a challenge in the Barbers Hill defense. Offensively the Eagles will see a 4-3 set with an opportunity to get mismatches against the Forest Brook linebackers. While the Eagles will enter the contest with a couple of key players out, the off week did give other players a chance to heal up from nagging injuries suffered over the first three weeks of the season. The game will be a new experience for Barbers Hill in the fact that will see most of their opponents for the first time. Aside from Huffman, the Eagles will face their district opponents for the first time, although they did scrimmage Crosby last season. “It’s new to us,†Price said. “The kids are excited about it and so are the coaches.†Crosby After suffering a heartbreaking loss to Dickinson on the last play of the game, Crosby was ready to hit the field and get the bitter taste out of their mouth. Instead, the Cougars have had to wait due to an off week. The wait will come to an end Friday when they travel to Smiley to take on a 2-1 Eagle squad. “Off weeks are good in the fact you get to heal up,†CHS head coach Kevin Flanigan said. “But I don’t like it. I don’t like to get out of our rhythm. And it’s hard to tell until you get into the fire, how much you have improved on things.†The area the Cougars will look to get out to a quicker start. In the first three games of the season, Crosby has allowed scoring drives on their opponents first offensive series. “We need to improve on defensive consistency,†Flanigan said. “We have played good in the second half but we need to play better at the beginning of the game.†Smiley will attack the Crosby defense with a Pro-I, option attack. “They are not a real pound it in team,†Flanigan said. “Last year I think they threw the ball more when we played them. We are going to have to play assignment football.†Offensively, Crosby will work against a 4-3 alignment. In the game against Dickinson the Cougars saw a lot of improvement in their running attack and will look to build on it. “We want to be 50/50,†Flanigan said. “We did run more against Dickinson but we were also averaging over five yards a carry. We are going to continue to improve through repetition.â€
  4. I can't imagine any interest in this one. Isn't their a water polo game near-by?
  5. If PNG wins this one, Ozen must really suck.
  6. I just noticed there were 9 reistered users, 2 monderators, and 58 guest currently online. Take the 1 minute out fo your obviously slow day and sign up. Your post are not going to creat any more conflicts than mine......trust me. See you soon!
  7. Bull Reds are running out of Clear Lake and around the Galveston Jetties.
  8. Any Cinnamon teal or just blues and greens?
  9. I would normally say Liberty, however they are stinking up the district, along with Cleveland and others. Dibol is not the greatest team by any means, however I think they are better than Liberty. If Moya starts this game at any offensive position, then I have to say Dibol by a lot.
  10. You mean we will have a varsity football game and a volleyball game going at the same time? It will take an hour to get off an/off Eagle drive....
  11. Anahuac has had problems for 3 years now. Two or three years ago against BH they only had something like 26 yards total offense. I am not sure what is going on there, but enrollment and team interest must have something to do with it. Liberty is in the same boat, as is Cleveland.
  12. I think by late Friday night Lumberton and their fine upstanding coach will have a nightmare involving purple horses and a BIG white letter D.
  13. Enrollment Numbers & My potential playoff teams How do they match up in the playoffs and tell me who wins and why. 22 4A Ozen 1499.5 PNG 1475 Nederland 1471 Dayton 1439.5 Vidor 1425 Central 1406.5 LCM 1170 Lumberton 1011 21 4A New Caney 1832 Galena Park 1717 Crosby 1401.5 CE King 1387.5 Smiley 1117 Forest Brook 1071 Huffman 990 Barbers Hill 963 My matchups: BH vs Central BH wins with defense in a close game. Crosby vs. Dayton Dayton wins big over crosby with running game and defense. Nederland vs. Galena Park Nederland runs all over Galena Park and defense holds them tough. Nederland wins by 14.
  14. I am a fan of Vidor and think highly of their football program. I have found their fans to be very nice people. I always root for Vidor, except when they played BH. Having said that, Nederland is going to whip the fire out of them. Sorry guys but Nederland is one darn tough team to stop and their defense is quite good. Not to mention they have Barry Sanders as a running back.
  15. I have never seen them play however I think your right. Will be interesting to see how BH matches up with them.
  16. Now, give Crosby their due, but I am in no way going that far. Dickinson is NO BH....... Just ask Dickinson. Crosby should contend for the 3rd playoff spot, but they will finish no better than 3rd. Crosby better focus on beating Huffman and accept the other 2 loses.
  17. Met the Forest Brook coach at the CE King game, sort of. Man of few words! Here is how that went: How doess Forest Brook look this year? He said, "we got off to a slow start". (You think) I ask him, "is CE King down this year?" "They got off to slow start". (No kidding, you don't say) Well my throat was getting sore from the lengthy conversation so I bought another hot dog and talked to it. Much more information out of that hot dog. There were about 4 BH coaches and 4 Galena Park coaches there as well. Matter of fact, I think Galena Park had 3/4 of their team there. Looked like a few players might be in that Galena Park group.
  18. This one is going to get ugly. Nederland by a lot.
  19. I think the overall weakness in SETX (3A and 4A). With the exception of WOS and Nederland there is not much to brag about. Things may change come district play, but right now teams like Jasper, Bridge City, PNG, Ozen, etc..... are just not on top of their game. Yes, Lumberton you are also on that list........ Dayton is about to whip your tails...... OK shoot away........
  20. BH (blow-out) Huffman (close game) Crosby (blow-out) Galena Park (blow-out)
  21. South East Texas seems to be a little down this year. Going to be interesting come round 2 of the playoffs for 3-A and 1st round for 4-A.
  22. OK, I watched CE King last night against Caney Creek. CE King has a small QB who is not very fast, but can run OK. They have a running back that can run OK. They run three main plays, full back up the middle, the QB draw and the option around the end. They have NO passing game at all. I don't think they even completed one pass. BH will beat them by A LOT....and I mean A ALOT. I wil go out on a limb and say they may not even score. CE King will be in one of the final three spots, my guess is 6th or 7th.
  23. Crosby can not be over-looked. Dickinson has one heck of a young QB and running back. BH has handled them the past 3-4 years, but they are going to be a good team the next few years. There is no reason for Crosby to be considered weak from being beat by Dickinson.
