  1. Obviously you people from ec need to go back to school for comparing two different sports lol jk but seriously school will be back in session for you guys when woodville schools yall!  ;)
  2. I think setx12 was saying they're speed gave them a better chance against Woodville. But as far as the better basketball team, I dont think they're as good as Woodville. But all this talk wont be worth anything until they meet and we'll see who's the better team, with or with out a silly track relay because track is what the ec girls will be headed to do while the Woodville girls are playing basketball
  3. Not sure what you meant on the first part of that comment, are you talking about our girls being 2nd in state? and yes you're right, if the girls are playing on the varsity level they can probably shoot and dribble well. I was just saying, in general, just because you have a good relay team in track it doesn't make your basketball team have speed. Some of the ec girls probably do have speed and can play the game but in general you cannot compare two sports like that.
  4. No, I'm not saying that. Speed can be an important factor in basketball, but there are several athletes who are very fast but can't dribble or shoot a basketball. You can't compare track and basketball. Just because you have a good relay in track doesn't make your girls have speed. They still have to know how to play the game while being quick and there are several girl and boys in our area who can do that, including some on ec. Im sure there are some talented girls on yalls team but being having a good relay team in track doesnt give your basketball team speed.
  5. Yes woodville beat shelbyville out in the tiebreaker game in lufkin, but i do look for shelbyville to grab that top spot again and there's a good chance kirbyville good be in the mix as well. i look for them to get better than last year
  6. Well, it really doesn't matter what your track team does. There must be something in the water at ec because on the boys forum one your guys were comparing two different sports, basketball and football, and here you go comparing track and basketball. I understand you might have a fast relay team, but c'mon now. That has nothing to do with basketball speed, you still have to dribble and have court awareness while you run believe it or not!!! And as far as our girls program for next year, we are losing everybody. Next years team will do a complete 360 from the last 4 years of success the town of Woodville has gotten to experience
  7. haha aaw i understand are chances are slim, but when pigs fly?! lol  :D
  8. When do you guys think woodville will get in the top 25??  8)
  9. Yes newton beat hemphill but newton is terrible, im not sure what happened to the lady hornets that night. No one said ec isnt't a good team. They've had a successful year as well, but going up a group of girls who have been to state the last 2 years in a row and only losing one non starter? that's just the way it goes. ec wont get respect until they beat woodville. i said beat, not play them well and only lose in a close game. to get respect you gotta earn it. thats not a knock to the ec girls, but woodville is one of the most respected girls teams in this area, not too many people will go against them unless youre from ec. thats just the way sports work. if you wanna get respect prove something and beat woodville. and if you do, i will be the first to give you your props on here
  10. That makes sense but that shakes some stuff up for this district
  11. After watching their performance Friday night in woodville, I was ready to write them off as well. Do you have any information on this game?
  12. What happened to all the predictions of Anahuac winning by 25?! haha looks like woodville will be waiting at home while these two teams duke it out for 2nd place. Come on true blue, how can you compare two sports? youre worried about beating woodville but you still have to get through anahuac to get to us. I will agree that district 22 isnt that great but, with the exception of kountze, 23 isnt too good either. i believe woodville can compete in any district in 2A, but we'll see. Anahuac and EC, have fun playing each other again while woodville is chillaxin lol but really im anxious to see how this one plays out, good luck to both teams
  13. Woodville wins their 9th in a row. This win was pretty much expected but does anybody have an inside scoop on the newton-sa game? The loss pretty much knocks sa out of contention for first as long as woodville takes care of business everywhere else. How does woodville win by 42 against newton but sa loses by 5??? And to all the anahuac fans, you gotta get through ec to get to us!!
  14. alrighty i responded back
  15. We haven't forgot about Anahuac at all, trust me. Anahuac still has to beat EC this Friday to sow up 2nd place. We still have to go to SA to clinch district too. This season is far from over, utfan06 and I were just having a little fun thinking about the regional tourny
  16. I'll have to go with the Lady Eagles on this one. Hemphill gave Woodville a nice game a few weeks ago but all that did was encourage Woodville to play even better the next go around. I sincerely believe Woodville will win by 15 or more. The reason for this is because it's Senior Night for the Lady Eagles. This group of seniors has carried the Girl's Basketball Program to another level during all four years of their high school career. These four young ladies took their team to the Regional Quarterfinals their Freshmen year and to State their Sophomore and Junior Year. Currently they're undefeated and on their way to Austin again. I will argue that this might be one of the best class of athletes to have this much success. For a group of girls to go 123-18 over four years is amazing. It will sad to see these girls leave the Eagle Athletic Progam. Congrats ladies and good luck on the road back to Austin
  17. Hopefully we'll meet you guys in the regional finals, after yall beat new waverly haha  ;D
  18. yeah you have to love coach williams' game night attire. SWAGGALICIOUS  8)
  19. Woodville wins this one 77-35 in dominating fashion. I have to agree with what a lot of people have said on different forums, Woodville has struggled with finishing off teams when they get them up this season. Tonight they played great defense which won the game for them. They went on a 29-2 run to end of the first half and didn't come out flat the second half and closed out the game. Newton has normally spanked Woodville in the past and I think this encourage Woodville to finish them off tonight. It was finally Woodville's turn to hand out the spanking and they took advantage of it. Woodville is one of the hottest teams in the area right now, this win makes them 4-0 in district and that's their 8th in a row. They're at Shelbyville Friday night.
  20. Oh my goodness, yall lost. Get over it. It was a good game that was fun to watch. Quit trying to look for an excuse to why SA lost. They weren't 5 for 17 I know for sure because they hit 4 in a row with 10 seconds left and I know they made more than one the rest of the game. Guess you heard wrong.
  21. Who said anything about in a blowout? I said it was supposed to be a good game and it lived up to the hype. I said it was a good game
  22. yes, 59-54. i posted a new topic about the game if you wanna read about what happened during the game
  23. You're right but weren't they supposed play good with Woodville, post play or not? The spread was only 2. This was a good game, as expected, and I was just giving my analysis of SA. I had never seen them play before. Guess we will see you in SA then
  24. I've seen Goodrich play a couple times and they're not the usual Goodrich ball club. They were actually pretty bad, but Chester? Really?! As they would say on Monday Night Football countdown, "C'mon man!!"
  25. mmccary, you were wrong. hahahaha
