Spot on. BU kids wonder why Brook has more success on the field and it starts from a program culture standpoint. WB has its issues for sure but I guarantee nobody would have quit or left their shoulder pads in the locker room at halftime.

Yeah. Too many kids wanna be multi-sport athletes and think they can show up and win. It's been a Beaumont problem for decades.

Central and Ozen merge and still can't win. I blame the Ozen influence because Central usually goes 2-3 rounds deep.

I'm surprised this hasn't happened more often esp this year. That being said, there are a few teams that have historically called players on other teams slurs midgame. So that part is most certainly believable I'll leave it at that, folks can take a wild guess on who they are.

Brook SHOULD win. D2 #2 is what they seemed to be hoping for.

Only HISD schools that put out good teams are Westside, Lamar and Bellaire plus the occasional Houston Heights (formerly Reagan) and Chavez teams. That being said the other HISD schools still managed to send a few kids to D1 schools.

This has been a thing for decades. I remember Cosch Stump holding it up after we won a bi-district playoff game and were heading back to the locker room. We had fun with it for a few minutes then moved on.

That being said Wheatley had William Jackson III who plays for the Bengals now a few years ago. Kid literally only came off the field at halftime and the end of the game. Of course guys like him are an outlier at a lot of HISD schools except for Lamar, Bellaire, Westside and Heights. But yeah I feel for thise kids

Adding onto this, high school students in HISD can transfer to Lamar, Bellaire or Westside if their zoned school has a failing grade. This is why those 3 HISD schools tend to not only have way nore support but better football teams
