Congrats to the Eagles, good win. BH is better than people think.
I think you are right...Dayton would have still won handily, but 7 turnovers made 54-0 possible. Looks like the kids are starting to "get the system". Freshman QB, Denny, is going to be a stud. Lost a key defensive contributor, Rodriguez, tonight to horrible crackback block. 15 yd penalty doesnt make up for taking a kid out for the season :( Wishing him a speedy recovery. -

Actually it was 26-14...trash points with no time left. Needless pass interference in endzone led to TD at end. Other than two busted plays by CEK that went big, BH defense absolutely dominated. BH still had at least two lost fumbles and two INT's or it would have been worse. Other than turnovers, BH has looked better every week since the massacre. THISFR -
Waitress at the Oasis in on Lake Travis just asked me, "Is the Hill really for real?"...oh yes, the Hill is Real even in the Hill Country.

Sunny, windy day here in Austin and, yes Govenor, The Hill IS for Real. ;)

Never thought I'd post on the volleyball page, but see that the score is not posted yet. The mighty Lady Eagles of BH defeated the Lady Cougars of Crosby in 5 games, creating a tie for first place in 19-4A. BH was down 0-2 and was looking pretty weak, but came back strong to sweep the next 3 to take the win. Nice job.

[move]THE HILL IS FOR REAL [/move] :-* Ok maybe not.. ;)
Isn't one side of county line road BH and the other side Dayton?
yes that is why i said when you go down that road and you LOOK TO THE RIGHT and before people chime in and say well the left looks like the right.. this is true.. BUT the bump has already established that Dayton is nothing but trailers on wheels and whatever else they come up with... BH trys to make it all we live in big brick houses with white picket fences etc.. Im just keeping THE HILL FOR REAL
Hey now, wait a minute...the van actually runs, we are just using it as guest house right now for the cousins down from Kenefick. The dog, well I guess he might rabid, I just can't bring myself to shoot 'im. Thought you were "movin' on" anyways ;)

The Hill is For Real HillGuy, I saw the BH girls BB schedule....looks like they are playing some good 5A schools early.
Some really good 5A's...probably take some lumps before going into district. But "Its not how you start, its how you finish"...I think Moses or somebody said that.

Even if it's only twice a week for 50 mins each time, I think it helps keep the rust off.
They don't think that way on the boys side. It should be the same for the boys and the girls. Rust, don't worry about that no matter how much you practice the "RUST" will always be there in some shape or form. Yes, I do think it is OK to go into a season without any practice. Who cares about preseason. Wins and Losses are only counted by parents. District losses are counted by coaches.
Sorry to weigh in on 21-3A, but I gotta agree with Bleed. if you decide to be multi-sport, then stick with the official program you're in. If you are dedicated to moving on in a different sport than the one in season, you can find some "unofficial" time to stay sharp. Funny though, how much easier it is to find a pick-up basketball game in the off-season than a pick-up volleyball game LOL.
Ok...this is getting way overboard from both sides. Pride from student athletes in their program, school, and community is what we hope our kids have. Pride in our student athletes, our programs that our tax dollars help to sustain, and pride in our communities are some of the hallmarks to our great communities. Trust me guys and gals, I have had the privilege to live in numerous states and nowhere that I have lived can match what you in Texas have; nothing when it comes to HS athletics and community involvement! We have Yahoos from both communities - Dayton and BH alike who do get a bit overzealous on these boards and we keep coming back day after day to see what other inane, BS comment was made and by whom. I watched this thread from the beginning, sort of ebb and flow and I have to tell you that it's on both sides. Dayton has a great football program and has for the past, what, 12 or 15 years? Kuddos to Stewart, the administration for the direction, and the Dayton community for it's support. BH isn't having the best of seasons on the football field of late, but has traditionally been Very successful. But neither community has the best of anything and probably never will. As for what's been stated over and over about the Hill riding the coattails of Dayton and being jealous of Dayton's program...uh uh...Never has and Never will...well ok, I'm jealous of your stadium! As for as the Hill being the best of everything else or the best in everything else, uh uh, never has and never will...pretty darn good, but not the best! We're two equally proud communities with reasons to be proud with past and present accomplishments and we need to just let it go at that. Hopefully, this will be a great rivalry in the future. In the day that I was at the Hill...we looked at Dayton as a rivalry and we WANTED to beat Dayton, the big brother from the north; but I don't believe they felt the same rivalry with us and why should they have. I believe up until the Stewart era, it was like 11 wins apiece dating back to the 50's. Perhaps with growth, comes a dilution of the "old school pride" and it's a sad thing if you want to be nostalgic, but it is what it is. Yahoos from both will get on here and beat their chest and have a p!@@!n contest because it's entertainment or they need to entertain themselves in that manner because it makes them feel better. Most on the other hand, don't fall in that category and would prefer that you not say all Hillians or Hillarians or all Broncos or Dayton people. People, that's just nonsense! Go Hill, go Dayton, represent 19-4a in all athletic and academic endeavors and lets support our young folk to help them be great, upstanding citizens in their communities now, and in their future and not act like the Yahoos who get their rocks off bashing others on message boards!!! Good "Lawdy" and I'll get off my soap box now!!! ;D
Great post... The Hill (and Dayton, I must admit) are For Real... :) But still have to have this go 54 pages...just to show 20-4A who has the most hard-core fans.

OctFeb - "ok sure whatever makes you feel better. thats classic of someone from BH too. Im done with you moving on..." Awwww....That's all ya got? it will take forever to get to 54 pages without you ;(

Probally not ,but there is always a chance Will Purple's pupils ever get out of Dayton for a chance to work for a BH grad, Probally not, but there is always a chance<---- PER BHFAN Since your an idiot, BH by 10 now. I was gonna let you win one since we feel bad for ya. Not any more, Demz Eagles gonnza whips ya goodz! <-----BH89-2 CALLING PURPLE FOREVER AN IDIOT. there are more but I have things to do... so If your really wanting to see go look for yourself...maybe you can find the one where BH seems to think that a BH diploma is better than a Dayton Diploma thats a classic. MONT BELVIEU, Tex.— Only about 50 families are left on Barbers Hill, perched precariously atop a salt dome where industry stores more volatile hydrocarbons than anywhere else in the world. There are other communities where residents and industry struggle to coexist, but few have as painful a history as Mont Belvieu, where the original settlement on the gentle, egg-shaped mound called Barbers Hill has gone from a community to an industrial no man's land of empty lots and abandoned buildings. THE HILL IS A FOR REAL NO MANS LAND
You CANNOT be serious with that as an example... you are quoting BH 89 and BHFAN??? classic. Oh man, this thread just went into the twilight zone ::) I'm talking about non-smack, real belittlement talk. Wow, you are WAY to sensitive. If you are going to allow that into your argument, then you open all the foolishness from Dayton too. You are right, Eagle07. Some folks are taking this way too seriously - ha. THISFR
