Thursday Hemphill over Broaddus West Sabine 13  Broaddus 6 Hemphill over West Sabine. was 7-3 when i left in the 5th. Heard it got ugly after that Won't be there Friday or Sat.

Who did they play HI? Chester was rather a scrappy team last year as well. Good Luck to all in the district. Look forward to some great games. Does every team have a JV this year? Heard that they should.

Hemphill Hornet Classic Baseball Tournament Thursday Hemphill I.S.D. will be hosting the Hornet Classic Baseball tournament beginning tomorrow, February 25, 2010 at 12 noon.  The tournament will run thru Saturday, February 27 at Hornet Field at the corner of Highway 87 and FM 83.  Thursday's Schedule Pool A 12PM Hemphill vs Broaddus 2:30PM West Sabine vs Broaddus 5:00PM West Sabine vs Hemphill.   Friday's schedule Pool B 12PM Warren vs Zavalla 2:30PM Deweyville vs Zavalla 5:00PM Deweyville vs Warren Saturday's schedule 11:00AM 3rd Place Pool A vs 3rd Place Pool B 1:30PM 2nd place Pool A vs 2nd place Pool B 4:00PM Championship Game: 1st place Pool A vs 1st place Pool B.  The public is invited to come out and support the local teams.  Concessions will be available.

Nice Site. Lots of good information. Enjoyed reading the facts about the games that i have seen in Austin and History of Coach Jack Whitton's 4 championships at Hunnington and West Sabine. Also the Brookeland championship runs in 99 and 2000.

Grapeland 60  West Sabine 50 in OT. WS had 3 foul out in OT, was a 3 pt game with a minute to go in OT. Congrats on a good year West Sabine Lady Tigers.

Just asking cause i have heard it both ways.. What is UIL rules about playing games the night of school being canceled? In the 1a district to the north they have a 3 way tie for first between West Sabine, Zavalla and Broaddus. They had flipped and came up with West Sabine playing Zavalla tonight in Colmesneil. Then the Winner playing Broaddus Saturday at TBA.. With the weather Zavalla and Broaddus canceled school today. I know that it won't effect Broaddus cause they had the bye for tonight. But what , if anything does it do to the first game. Can Zavalla play a game tonight after no school today. Heard it both ways. Is there a ruleing here???

Well,,, You may say that Pineland West Sabine is not included in this area...It is up north so i will take that.. That sounds like something coming from the Homers of Silsbee, HJ and Kountz!!!  Will you include us next year when realignment moves us back south with HD, Colmesneil, in our old district? ;D Teresa Weatherspoon should still be in the running for the best player category. Her accomplishments speak for themselves. How many of you watched the Olympics and were proud of the East Texas Girl.. I know i was and i didn't even live in Pineland yet... She is currently Head Coach for the La. Lady Techsters and Supports the West Sabine Tigers Programs when she gets back to town. With that said i think that all of the canidates talked about are fine atheletes from this expanded East Texas Area.. BucketSitr

West Sabine 43 - Broaddus 41 At Broaddus

Sorry been away from computer since i started this. While crashing the boards he flipped and landed hard on his head. Was out for several minutes. 911 called and they were very careful with this young man and took him out on a back board to be checked out further. Not sure of his condition, heard it was a concussion and a cut to head. Hope he recovers soon, He is a fine players. It was one of those moments that you realize how small High school sports are in the scheme of life. BucketSitR

Spurger was up by 15 with 1:30 left in 3rd qtr when game was called. 47-23 or close to that. Spurger is full of good atheletes. BucketSitR

LOL!!!  My son was talking about all of the bad calls in a game this weekend that i had to miss.. His JV team had lost.. As i questioned him he brought up the fact that his team had missed about 20 layups and put backs under the boards..... He thought for a minute and said " but they still made bad calls!!"

I always said that if i won the lotto i would build one for the little league kids in my community... But no seating.. All parents would be housed about a mile away in a metal building with couches and a big screen TV!!!!!!!! Kids would have a ball!!!!!And coaches too ;)
